Does getting good marks/grades at secondary (high) school make you a valuable resource for the school?
I'm talking public schools here.
If you get good grades (in hard subjects) in secondary school (especially in years 11 and 12) will the school think twice about expelling you?

4 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoHow far must a spacecraft be for the Earth's gravitational pull to be equal to the Moon's gravitational pull?
How far from the Earth must a spacecraft be along a line towards the Moon so that the Moon's gravitational pull on the body balances that of the Earth? The Moon is 3.844x10^8m away from the Earth and the Earth's mass is 81.33 times the mass of the moon.
I sort of know how to approach this problem but it's got me really confused.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is it because it is inaccurate for small values?
2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoCan a sinus infection cause black/bruised eyes?
I've always had some general darkness under each of my eyes but recently I've looked a bit closer under bright light and under my eyes there appears to be bruising similar to when you get a black-eye. It appears like the skin is almost dark blue and yellow at the inside corner of the eye.
I haven't got any discharge from my nose or throat but it does sort of feel like there is pressure around my eyes (which have been sore and water when I exercise) and nose.
I went to the doc because I was feeling pretty flat for an unknown reason a week ago and had blood tests done and nothing came up. I still feel like I have little energy and really hit the wall after I do any mild exercise.
3 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoShould I oil and knock-in my new bat first, or apply the toe-guard?
Just bought a new bat that doesn't have a toe-guard so I purchased one to glue on. Just wondering if it's best to oil, knock-in and prepare the bat before I stick on the toe-guard or just stick the toe-guard on straight away?
Thanks.
2 AnswersCricket1 decade agoAre pot odds at all useful in online poker?
When playing online poker is it useful to use pot odds?
I've been playing poker palace on myspace for a while now and some of the hands that come up and don't come up are outrageous. It seems to me that using pot odds on online poker is a waste of time.
At least when you're playing in reality you know there is only 52 cards in play.
5 AnswersGambling1 decade agoCan I recover a Word 2003 file I saved on my USB?
I was writing a thing for school on Word 2003 and I saved it only on my USB. I then lost my USB at school the day after and subsequently lost the file. The file is still under the 'open' tab on the right hand side, but obviously when I click on it, it cannot locate the file.
Is there anyway I can retrieve the file, or am I royally screwed?
Software1 decade agoHow do I explain that the ball is accelerating down the ramp using the data I obtained?
After performing an experiment testing acceleration using a ball rolling down a ramp from varying release points I have data like this:
Release Points (cm): 200, 167, 134, 101, 68, 35
Average Time Taken (s): 1.35, 1.12, 0.82, 0.74, 0.58, 0.41
I'm not sure how accurate the results are as I got them from someone else. I know the ball does accelerate down the ramp, but using this data how can I explain that this is so?
Also, how can I explain what happens to the acceleration as the angle of the ramp increases (based on results obtained by actually increasing the angle of the ramp)?
Give a shout if you need more details.

Can anyone assist me with naming the potential New Zealand and England ODI teams for the upcoming Commenwealth Bank Series?
Having not seen New Zealand play for ages, I don't have any idea what their team is going to look like, and what young players to look out for.
I have a little bit of an idea about England, but could someone please tell me about the incoming players.
