  • Do you feel underemployed?

Are you well educated, hard working, competent, and professional: yet working as a waitress or performing manual labour tasks?

Do you feel that your skills are not being utilised?

    Does that bother you?

What do you think are the root causes of your underemployment?

Are there any obvious solutions to the delemma you face?

If you could have any job, what would it be?

Is it related to your training?

  • I am about to head from Wales to France on holiday. What is the best and most cost effective transport ?

I am really excited! I am about to head off for a European holiday with my son. We want to see the alps, experience some of the battlefields of world war 2, and maybe ski and snowboard. The problem is we are about to head off in about 2 days ( Like to be spontaneous) and I am not sure what is the best way to cross the channel. I like the idea of the ferry from Dover to Normandy, but am not sure if that is my best option. I am also not sure if we can just sort of turn up and buy a ticket when we arrive. I know that you can buy online, but like I say I like to be spontaneous and would prefer to purchase when we arrive. Any suggestions?

  • My friends husband is a sex addict, what should she do?

My friend has just travelled across the USA with her husband. She found that he would suddenly disappear for a half an hour at a time from various restaurants and public places, and then return with lame excuses. He kept organising for them to camp in red light districts and was once seen leaving a toilet block with a tarty looking 'lady' at 8 in the morning and she was still dressed up for a night out. What advice should I offer her?

One other bit of information he was fired from his office job for spending a lot of time in his office with the lights off and pornography on his computer.

  • How many calories in a small pack of crisps?

My wife and I are discussing the amount of calories in a small pack of crisps. On the pack it says 129 kcal per pack. That seems an outrageous amount of claories per pack since our daily intake of calories should be about 2000 kcals. Surely one small pack of chips could not be about 1/20th of our calorific intake. What is the answer?

  • This is a question for teachers.?

    I really don't get it.

I am currently teaching english in Taiwan

I teach primary school in the morning and university students from 7 to 9 pm

What I don't get is why we have such a problem with discipline and motivation to learn in Australian schools (and i gather other western schools)

    In my primary school classes

almost all of the students pay attention

    lisen to the questions

and repeat sentences as a class

    in unison and with effort.

    At night

high school students will take a break in their 3 hours of nightly study

to cram in an extra 2 hours of english class

5 nights a week. (that's right , from about grade 6 they seem to spend more then 3 to 4 hours per night studying)

    They pay for these classes

and many of the academic classes have theoretical questions I think the average 1st year university student would grapple with.

Why is behaviour and educational motivation such a problem in most western schools.

I just want to say, that I don't necessarily think that they have a great quality of life, becuase they do study so hard, but it is amazing observing the cross cultural response to education.

  • Are there more hurricanes?

I do not remember there being so many hurricanes when I was a child. Is it a reality that there are in fact more hurricanes of stronger intensity or am I just more aware of their presence due to better news coverage.

  • Do you think the greenhouse effect or any other man induced impact could kill all life on earth?

Do you think that man would inadvertantly kill all life on earth, or do you think that mankind could have a huge impact on most lifeforms, yet some will survive?

This is analogous to the dinosaurs and other megafauna that have faced extinction in the past, yet not all life was destroyed.

  • If the earth had organs?

We live on a planet that has seen the evolution of life over the last 3.5 billion years

we are experiencing an exponetial growth phase in new technologies which are truely global

I believe that we are at a critical point in time where we will be able to help design and construct very large structures which are analogous to organs in animals

    This includes

fiber optic cable networking with tens of millions of personal computers creating a global brain and soon consciousness

We already posses the technologies needed to mine fuels and minerals stored far underground

At present organs are being constructed to harness these energy sources to transform these basic building blocks into components that are utilised for the production of food and global transport etc.

Could this also lead to the creation of a global fetus analogue and the birth of a global organism which has a brand new suite of physical features that transcend those we attribute to the earth at present?

    Is it ironic

that the world will get involved in waging a war

    with an oil rich nation

    over non existant

    weapons of mass destruction

    yet

    will not even

    push the red tape boundaries

    to save the lives

    of tens of thousnds

    of innnocent people

    dying of nourishment

    in a cyclone devestaed country

    because their maglamaniac Junta leader

    told them

    Why can't the United nations
