  • My cat for hell (not really)?

Here's the story. In May I moved in with my parents I have a cat that's about 3 years old towards the end of May my parents remodeled the basement bathroom since then he cat has been peeing outside her box, and only in the bathroom if a rug or towel is laid down. At the time her litter box was the cleanest and since then it has been scooped regularly and fully cleaned out weekly. I honestly don't think she has a UTI because the only symptom she has is the peeing outside of her box. She doesn't cry out when she tries to pee, she doesn't lick herself more then normal. Now in the past couple of weeks she has been peeing on a new rug we got for the back door, which is right across from the bathroom. I have had the cat for a year and a half and she has never peed outside of the box (once but that was because I wasn't cleaning it that often). I can think of the only stress-er would be moving. I also have a dog but she has lived with that dog before we moved. Her diet hasn't changed, litter hasn't changed. Every once in a while I would give her some wet/canned food and the past couple of days I have been giving it to her more. I am going out (today) to buy another litter box. I'm at a loss of what to do next, I'm a broke college student and can't afford to go to the vet for every little thing.

I'm also having a problem with vertical scratching with the wall paper. In my opinion its because it's wallpaper and she likes the way it feels. Every room in the house is painted.

  • How many carbs should I be eating while on Metformin?

I've been prescribed Metformin to help with weight loss, although I've been on it for just shy of a year I have only lost about 10 pounds. My doctor says that I should watch my carbs, but didn't give me a number (grams/percentage) to stay under. I've tried looking online for a diet or foods that I should stay away from to help this pill work, but no luck. Any suggestions? Websites would be really helpful.

I don't have diabetes, my doctor says I'm "insulin resistant", my A1C is normal, blood sugar is fine, thyroid is fine. I have irregular periods, very hard to lose weight, and I'm tried alot. Im 25, 5'6 around 200lbs. My lowest weight while on Metformin was 189 and that didn't last long. I didn't change my eating habits, but I still gained back 10 lbs.

  • 2000 Taurus heating issues?

I have a 2000 Taurus. A couple months ago I took my car to my friends to get a few major things fixed, oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket and inner tire rod. He also fixed a few other things that he said I needed really bad, Valve cover and gaskets, thermostat, and oil/filter/gasket (I'm just reading off what the receipt they gave me.)

Since getting the car back my check engine light has been on (took it to auto zone and they told me it was an egr valve (????), my thermostat is all over the place (I'll explain below) and my heat barely works, blows out semi warm air- then cool air- then hot air- then back to semi warm air. (and yes the car has been warmed up and running for awhile, I never had the problem with heat.) I have not had a problem with the a/c, works perfectly.

The thermostat issue... If its hot outside (I live in Nebraska, it gets HOT) the gauge goes all the way up to hot (but still stays in the "normal" range) once I speed up or drive on the interstate at a consistent speed the gauge goes down to where it usually is, in the middle, then all over the place, up and down once I slow down. I sent him a picture of what the gauge was doing and he just told me that was normal, but I've had the car for 4 years and it's never done that. And even when its 50-some degrees outside (like tonight) its still up and down. Maybe cause I was trying to use the heat?

Could that be an issue with the thermostat that he installed?

Could I need more coolant? The tank is not quite full but its not empty?

Is there anything that I can do at home? I am not a mechanic so I have no idea how to do any of those things to my car. That's why someone else is fixing my car, and why people charge me a ton of money because I'm a girl!

If you have anymore questions please email me (piggylover_850@yahoo.com)

None of this stuff happened before I took it to him. And now he refuses to fix any of it.

I also smell antifreeze after I've driven the car for a while and I am leaking a little bit of it, could that be the problem? Maybe just add more anti freeze?

Im not looking for a quick fix, although it would be nice, but just some answers as to what it could be.

  • Can i use my chili recipe and just replace the ground beef with ground turkey?

I want to make a little healthier food decisions and I really want to try using more ground turkey over ground beef. I heard you really cant tell the difference between turkey and beef. Right? But i've wanted to make chili with ground turkey how much of a change do I need to do to my current recipe (which I obviously love). Can I still use the beef stock?

I want to purchase the blackberry bold 9650, but I want to know if it has the feature that you can set personal/custom ringer tones for text messages. I know the Tour does, and the Bold is suppose to replace the Tour, so it should have it, right? So does it?

  • looking at pet insurance?

Im thinking about getting a cat that is a year and a half old. he has diabetes, so i know dr visits and insulin shots would be very expensive. I want to save this cat because the owners cant afford him anymore so they either give him awake or put him down. Whats the scoop with pet insurance?? Would it be worth it? I really want this cat...

  • Relationship question?

What would you do? I'm 24 years old and I have recently started talking to a guy that ive known since high school, and since I moved back into my hometown we have really started talking and hanging again. I really like him and he likes me, just one problem. He smokes weed... I have never been around it at all throughout my life. I am one that doesn't like to get in trouble. I like to follow rules. He on the other hand doesn't. I don't want anything to do with weed. I hate the smell, I hate the thought of it being around me. But he smokes at lease once a day if not more. Should I continue to see if this works out or just stop it now?

  • What type of fish/snail/anything will eat the leftover food on the bottom of my tank?

My friend is a first time fish owner, and she has one glow fish. They will not eat the big pieces of fish food so it collects at the bottom of the tank. Would a snail or something work to help keep it clean? She doesnt have a gravel vaccum. Its a 5 gallon tank. I have a 10 gallon tank with three goldfish, two fairly large ones and one smaller baby one. I need to upgrade but ive only had this tank for a couple of months. Ive tried a snail before and the people at the fish store think my fish ate the snail. (By the next day of buying the snail it was gone, just the shell was left) I heard it also helps the life of your filter. I have to change my filter once a week, and they are expensive!

  • can getting really cold make you physically ill?

The last couple nights have been really cold around 50-60 degrees. Even with the window shut it can get really cold in my room. Can you get ill from sleeping in the cold? I know there's a difference between being chilly at night and shivering. Last year around this time our thermostat messed up some how, instead of the furnace turning on the a/c did. So it was super cold when I woke up in the morning. I was sick the next day, Headache/migraine, chills, achy, fever, and nauseous. I do remember throwing up a couple times that day.

The last two days i've had a migraine, chills, nauseous, achy and a fever that is changing all day long. I just checked it was 100.3, this morning when I woke up I was 99.3, before I went to bed last night it was 98.3. I didnt drink any hot or cold liquids 10-15 minutes before, I dont smoke.

Ive haven't had an appetite, last time I ate was last night and the only thing that sounded good, and didnt make me want to puke was chicken nuggets from mcdonalds.

Ive been drinking lots of water and now sunny d.
