Can a Muslim bookstore owner refuse to sell their Qurans to non-Muslims?
10 AnswersPolitics3 years agoWhy are muslims against the Charlie Hebdo murders? After all, it is in the Quran.?
Sura 33:57
Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhy did Allah made people believe that Jesus died by crucifixion even though he did not?
According to this verse from the Quran,
"That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. (4:157)"
Why did Allah made it appear that Jesus died even when he did not, i.e. "so it was made to appear to them". Why?
7 AnswersRamadan6 years agoAtheism: Isn't it not believing in God rather than believing that there is no God?
Subtle but important distinction, but most religious (christians) people fail to get. Having no evidence for something is not evidence for the lack of something; the 2 are very different. Atheist just need reasonable evidence before they believe, that's it.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy do you think atheists don't believe in God?
When in reality, atheist don't believe in your God, or the way you (religious people) define God. Atheists are just people who require reasonable evidence to come to the conclusion of the nature of what God is. In fact most religious people are "atheist" in the same way atheist are to the faith and beliefs of religions that differ from theirs.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoShould you be allowed to get gay married to your identical twin?
The taboo of getting married to a close relative is usually base on genetics and how bad the circumstances might be for their offspring. However, in gay marriage, there is no natural offspring. So, is it still taboo even in the gay community?
5 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender8 years agoWhy can't you operate a bank from your garage?
Romney said we need regulations to prevent people from opening a bank from their garages. Why can't you do so? You can open a lemonade stand, you can open a computer business, why not a bank? Maybe because of this regulation, you get only big banks like Goldman, Citi or JP Morgan because they have no competition from start-up banks?
2 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhere should I park in Washington DC to visit Capitol Hill and White House?
Will be there this Sunday, driving in in the morning and will drive away once we are done sightseeing. Is parking on the streets free on Sunday (this sunday, i.e. June 17th)? Also, which streets should I park at where there is availability? We plan on seeing the usual tourist attractions in DC, ie Capitol Hill and White House and any advice on parking/commuting would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
4 AnswersWashington, D.C.9 years agoWhy argue over 6 and 57 billion when the deficit is 1.5 trillion?
Seems like a wasted use of time. Either don't cut at all and go down with a bang, or cut at least a trillion.
5 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWho said the following with regards to the National Debt?
"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

4 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoWhy should Koran burning be so upsetting to muslims?
Its not your Koran, its not your property. You don't even have to know it occurs. Perhaps somewhere in the world someone's already burning the Koran, just that no one reports it. Why get so worked up to the point where you have to threaten violence and death not only to the people who are burning the Koran, but also to ordinary everyday Americans?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes a minimum wage law achieve an opposite effect as it was intended to achieve?
We supposedly want to improve the lives of low skilled individuals. Therefore, we make a law requiring employers to pay at least X amount of money to these people. However, there is no law against not hiring these people. Instead, companies are left without a choice but to hire illegal workers where they can pay them below X. Therefore all the law does is to discriminate against low skilled individuals by ensuring they do not get employed.
