Anyone else think the KU/Texas game was the best this year?
Hated to see my Longhorns lose, but that was the highest level college game I've seen. It was like watching the NBA. Nobody missed a shot.
Everyone could hit threes. Every run was answered.
KU played about as well as they could possibly play, and UT came back everytime until the very end.
2 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoSO, how much is UCLA paying officials these days?
The Stanford call -- perhaps give a pass.
The mugging at the end of the Cal game, missing that the ball went off a UCLA player, and the illegal shot over the goal, however, are inexcusable.
UCLA should have 2 more losses. Hopefully the pollsters penalize them for those two joke finishes.
4 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoHow long will the State of Tennessee be basketball's best?
Memphis and Tennesse are #1 and #2. Vandy is a top 25 squad as well. All three could conceivably end up in San Antonio.
Last year all three had serious tourney runs as well. Right now Tennessee is the best college hoops state in the nation.
While North Carolina is usually king here, how long can Tennessee's run continue?
3 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWill KU fans now FINALLY stop whining about being #1?
So glad this controversy is now put to bed.
Memphis is the deserving #1. Always has been.
8 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoPerhaps now Big 10ers will acknowledge SEC as the king?
The media knows it. Most of the country agrees. The scoreboard shows it.
When will Big 10 fans finally acknowledge SEC superiority, at least right now?
15 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoCan Memphis go undefeated in NCAA basketball this year?
If ever a team could in today's game, this Memphis squad seems capable. Blewout G-town. Blew-out Zona.
Undefeated in CUSA last year.
They have the talent. They have the coach. They have the schedule.
Anyone else think it could happen?
6 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWhy do Ohio State people insist on "THE Ohio State University."?
This really isn't a compliment. Translated, this phrase doesn't mean "we are THE university in the U.S.", it means "of all the universities in Ohio, we are the most significant one."
Wouldn't a school with their tradition want to be known as something more than the best team in Ohio?
I mean, being better than Cincy and Youngstown State is nice, but not exactly impressive.
26 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoWhat do you think it will take for Peyton Manning to get the respect he deserves?
First he sets every SEC passing record, but gets bashed for losing to Florida.
Then he loses the H-trophy to some overrated DB because of one game against OSU (who is the better player now?), under the BS theory that "defensive guys really need a shot to win the award to" -- where are all those votes for defensive players now? Not one visit to the ceremony since Woodson stole the award.
Then, it was "Ryan Leaf will be a better NFL QB." Oops.
Next it was "Brady is a better QB, just look at those rings!" Never mind that Manning has to score 30 points a game while Brady needs to put up 18. Peyton overcame that one last year anyway.
When will the respect come? How much does Peyton have to do before the detractors finally shut up? Has he finally done enough to win the respect he deserves, or will detractors concoct yet another reason shortchange him?
18 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoWhich running back would you draft between these choices for your fantasy team?
I have the 6th pick, so LT, S. Jackson, S. Alexander, LJ, and Gore will likely be off the board.
Choosing between Addai, Westbrook, Willie Parker, Rudy Johnson or any other suggestions welcome.
Leaning toward Addai with the way the Colts use the RB.
6 points for TD, 1 pt for 10 yards rushing or receiving, no points for receptions, minus 2 for a fumble lost.
12 AnswersFantasy Sports1 decade agoAnyone want to guess how many people will jump on the bandwagon and post a question about Texas' 30 runs?
I've counted 5 already, I'm guessing 10 total
5 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHow do you get the normal command bar up on Vista Internet Explorer?
Just got a laptop with Vista, and I can't stand the new IE browser. All I want is the toobar with the basic commands, like back, forward, stop, and refresh.
I have searched and searched but cannot find how to display these most basic functions on the toolbar at the top of the page.
I can get them in drop down menus, but that is it.
