Man I am one whacked out dude here to enjoy the one life I have. Tolerance and forgiveness is a partnership of sorts. It requires that both parties compromise and make gestures of understanding. With the birth of our baby boy I am far more motivated and less tolerant of intolerance. I feel liars should be called liars and hypocrites should be called hypocrites. I see no need to pussy foot around if I am to do my part to ensure he grows up with the freedoms that we are guaranteed in the Constitution. I choose to not be a hypocrite and to be honest. I choose to be tolerant of the tolerant and I choose to help educate those that are willing to help themselves. I choose to learn to and to share information with my fellow ignorant humans and I will attack stupidity wherever I may find it. I reserve the right to defend myself and my family from oppressive, hateful and evil behavior. Ignorance fallen to stupidity is our worst enemy. That said: Living well is the best Revenge

  • Does it surprise you that CPAC defends their agenda of "legislating Morality" based on Christian Values?

Mike Adams at CPAC has this long winded speech about how it is their duty and that "legislating morality is a necessary thing."

I find it a bit ironic that they use the reference to Abraham Lincoln and freeing of slaves as justification for their God based morality in order to pass laws of discrimination and hatred.

  • What will it take to get more people to understand that religion is just a part of human evolution?

Religion is part of our evolutionary process. In all regions primitive humans invented religion to explain the then unexplainable. religion served it's purpose because it helped individuals to form a sense of community. This community formation helped to ensure the survival of a collective of common gene pools.

The exact same behavior we see in "primitive" tribes is exhibited today all over our country and the world. We have the same collective instincts that are driven by our need to survive. We see this in our neighborhoods, our churches our cities, states and countries.

Look at how we have a sense of neighbors, bonding within the local church and schools and support for our city and it's sports teams (Our warriors), Pride in our state (Don't Mess with Texas) and Country. See how we "support our Troops" and God is on our side in the War on Terror.

  • How can having to much religion be the problem in the middle east?

Yet at the same time the problems in Europe and America are to be blamed on the lack of religion?

After reviewing Romney's "Suspension" it seems clear that this is a commonly held set of beliefs by many in the ultra-Conservative part of the right wing christian movement.

How can these people not possibly see their hypocrisy?

    Mitt Romney:

    Not enough god?

"The attack on faith and religion is no less relentless. And tolerance for pornography—even celebration of it—and sexual promiscuity, combined with the twisted incentives of government welfare programs have led to today’s grim realities: 68% of African American children are born out-of-wedlock, 45% of Hispanic children, and 25% of White children. How much harder it is for these children to succeed in school—and in life. A nation built on the principles of the founding fathers cannot long stand when its children are raised without fathers in the home."

  • Do all of thos Erectile Dysfunction commercials make America look weak to terrorist?

According to the commercials on TV all freaking day and night a huge portion of our population is impotent and needs a pill to due to ED.

The Drug companies have emascualted the country in the eyes of our enemy and has emboldened the terrorist. How can a culture that is so hooked on the importance of manhood like the Muslim cultures, the Latinos and Asian cultures where the ***** is the most important thing in their society have any respect for us seeing our TV with all of those stupid commercials?

Are the drug companies really sponsoring and motivating the terrorist?

  • Can 1 Yahoo ID really be used my many in R&S?

I am not trying 2 pick on a particular person, or group per say.

But I have to wonder how a single person can have:

All in 1 year and 9 months?

    Total answers 13,150

    Best answers 5,281

That many questions and answers being limited to say an average of 5 minutes per would be:

    1535.916 Hours

That is 63.99 days of typing Q&A in R&S.

That works out ot a minimum of 2.45 hours every single day for 630 days.

Do others in R&S see this as a bit, challenging?

Could this really be more than one person using a single sign on?

Or could this be a person that really needs to get out more?

    Shall we pray?

  • Do Conservatives understand what it really means to be a conservative?

With Ronald Reagan as president and the growing involvement of the religious right in conservative politics, Goldwater's libertarian views on personal issues were revealed, which he believed were an integral part of true conservativism. Goldwater viewed abortion as a matter of personal choice, not intended for government intervention.

As a passionate defender of personal liberty, he saw the religious right's views as an encroachment on personal privacy and individual liberties. In his 1980 Senate reelection campaign, Goldwater won support from religious conservatives but in his final term voted consistently to uphold legalized abortion and, in 1981, gave a speech on how he was angry about the bullying of American politicians by religious organizations, and would "fight them every step of the way".[14] Goldwater also disagreed with the Reagan administration on certain aspects of foreign policy (e.g. he opposed the decision to mine Nicaraguan harbors).

  • Young earthers, If we have fossils of what dinosaurs ate then how come...?

    Let me explain...

We have fossils that show what dinosaurs ate in fossilized dinosaur poop and from the fossilized remains of what was in their stomachs.

AS I understand some to say, dinosaurs and other animals did not eat meat until Eve ate the apple and committed the "original sin" and death was introduced to the world that carnivores then became meat eaters.

With that in mind and taking into account the common fact that very often humans fall prey to carnivores and are eaten by them. We can safely conclude then that the time period between original sin and the great flood meat eating dinosaurs were running around and would have had ample opportunity to feed on the occasional human.

So how come we have never found any human fossil remains in dino poop fossils or the fossilized contents of the carnivorous dinosaurs?

  • Creationism, the Great Flood, Dinasaurs and saddles?

Many of the young earth creationist and the Creationism Museum depict man and dinosaurs existing together before the great flood. Some even depict dinosaurs as being domesticated and wearing saddles.

    http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://medi...

They use the great flood to explain how allo fthe dinosaur fossils came into existence.

Fossilized dinosaur mummies have been found a few times and what I am wondering.

If there can be fossils that can preserve untreated skin/hide how come there are no fossil remains of these dinosaur related implements like saddles and such?

  • OK - So if GOD created Adam and Eve then...?

he kills everyone but Noah's family.

so Adam and eve reproduce and their children reproduce, with each other - GROSS!

2 all of their children are children of incest and continue to multiply until there are millions of inbred cousins, bothers & sisters, etc - still - WAY GROSS!

Then he reduces the inbred world to only Noah's family who are all relatives by blood regardless of marriage.

They start all over again with the oncestous worl population thing.

No we know it is a scientific fact that inbreeding of jumans leads to metal retardation and birth defects (See European Royalty & Arkansas) The more the incest continue the more severe these defect become.

So my question is: If we are all the products of millenia of incest how is it the vast majority of us are noraml and without birth defect? If the bible were true I would expect this to be a planet of people that look like the mutant family from the Hills Have Eyes rather than what we have today.

    Please - Explain:

  • Why are there so many christians in the world that are starving to death and suffer horrid poverty?

“Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”

I guess that was just another metaphor?

Based on the numbers of persons that meet the definition of extreme poverty and the percentage of the world population that are christion there whould be about 230,000,000 christians on the verge of starvation.

    =====================

The World Bank defines extreme poverty as living on less than US$ (PPP) 1 per day, and moderate poverty as less than $2 a day, estimating that "in 2001, 1.1 billion people had consumption levels below $1 a day and 2.7 billion lived on less than $2 a day." [9] The proportion of the developing world's population living in extreme economic poverty fell from 28 percent in 1990 to 21 percent in 2001.[10] Looking at the period 1981-2001, the percentage of the world's population living on less than $1 per day has halved.

  • How can we get our elected officials to recognize the consitution and the seperation of church and state?

    Reference: http://www.au.org/site/News2?abbr=pr&page=NewsArti...

I swear, not all Texans are ignorant hicks. But read on...

Chris Comer, director of science curriculum, was pushed out after she circulated an e-mail mentioning that a leading scholarly critic of ID, the latest variant of creationism, would be speaking in Texas. Comer sent a notice about the talk as an “FYI.”

The Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United, blasted officials at TEA and called on them to promptly reinstate Comer.

“It’s a sad day when a science expert can lose her job merely for recommending that people hear a speaker defend sound science,” Lynn said. “Officials in Texas seem intent on elevating fundamentalist dogma over academic excellence and common sense.”

  • When will Japan and China stop trying to eat everything into extinction...?

It never ceases to amaze me at how much the Chinese and Japanese as well as many other Asian countries will go to great lengths and expense in order to eat the body parts of extinct species.

The vast majority of ingredients of the most exotic and endangered species all seem to be what is needed to provide a man with an erection.

Why can't these countries stop eating tiger penis and use Viagra instead?

And why does a country with 1.3 billion need to have more men with more erections?

I understand a lot of this is rooted in their culture, but their culture is having a huge impact on the environment and they have to change.

  • Did anyone see The Mist this weekend? (Yes this is R&S related)?

I did. I thogought it was a great movie and I love Horror movies.

    SPOILER ALERT:

If you saw it tell me if you agree. I found the movie to be a right good scare with great affects. The thing that scared me the most though was how quickly all of the people in the store started to follow the religious nutcase and were ready to sacrifice children to the beasts.
