How can I tell if I'm an underachiever?
What are the specific determining factors and thresholds?
1 AnswerPsychology7 years agoIs there anyone here who received the advice to "lighten up" and actually did so?
Did the advice turn out to be worthwhile?
3 AnswersPsychology9 years agoI'm trying to come up with a function for the probability?
that an employee will stay with the company for 25 years, at which point s/he will be eligible for pension benefits. The function should be based on current years of service, so for 0< years of service<25, Y will vary between 0 and 1, and will be increasing during that interval.
Ideally, the function should be based to some extent on some actual data.
1 AnswerMathematics9 years agoHow old do you have to be to be able to refer to a man under 30 as a "young man"?
It's been a few years since anyone referred to me as "young man", but despite that, I don't feel empowered yet to call anyone even 15 years younger than me "young man."
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture10 years agoI'm trying to integrate f(x)=100-(10000000000000000000x)^.1 (19 zeroes there) over the interval 0 to 10?
and 0 to 1. My integrated function looks thus: 100x-((10000000000000000000x)^1.1)/1.1, which winds up not looking the way I expect it to. I expected the *portion* of the total area (interval 0-10) to decline as you moved from the interval 0-1 to 1-2 to 2-3...9-10, but instead it seems to increase, so I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone help me with this?
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoWhat percentage of people do you believe speed up in response to someone tailgating them?
I respectfully ask that stupid people not answer the question. The last time I asked this, everyone told me what they do when they are being tailgated. If I cared about that, I would have asked that. What I actually care about and am interested in is people's perceptions and beliefs about other people's behavior.
9 AnswersCommuting1 decade agoWithin 30 mile radius of Wilkes-Barre, the name or location of a creek that people used to swim in by the road?
It's going back a ways, but over 30 years ago, I know I saw a creek near a fairly busy road that a whole bunch of people would swim in, in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area. For all I know it's now filled in with a strip mall, but at the time driving past in the family car during a family vacation, it looked like the most awesome place in the world.
1 AnswerOther - United States1 decade agoWhat percentage of people who are being tailgated actually speed up?
I bet that few people actually do, which makes the behavior all the more obnoxious and stupid actually.
7 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoSong frm the 70's that ws either partially sampled from, or completely remade by M. Carey.(Not Genius of Love)
There's this song that sounds like Gordon Lightfoot singing, and I swear some female artist (possibly Mariah Carey) either remade it, or borrows a part of the song, such as the chorus, during her own song. It's not that one by the Tom Tom Club though.
1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoIs there a radio station in West-Central New Jersey that broadcasts some or most Pittsburgh Steelers games?
I swear I listened to several games last year on the radio, and not against the Jets, Giants, or Eagles. It was called "Steelers Radio Network" or something. I can't find it this year.
