Single and raising four children . God it's hell
Something does not add up?
As a single father of four , with children in age from 9-16 .I am required by the government to work . That would be fine if my kids would help with the house a bit . Due to this I am under a lot of stress.
Why is it on the current welfare system.There are so many others who could work ,but are not required to due to sickness benefits ,usually a case of depression. Including my kids mum. It just seems unfair that because I am not screaming looney ,I am expected to survive with four children ,whilst perfectly healthy people sit on Welfare, with no intention of ever working

Hi everybody, this is probably the most important question I have needed to ask on answers.
After much unresolved discussion with my 15and a half year old son, I have run out of argument.
I tried to put conditions on my boy concerning the use of his mobile phone, which I finance totally.
The conditions were.
He must hand his phone over on week nights, at 10pm , and not have it returned until he leaves for school the following morning .This is so he is not texting other parents children after this time .
My son tells me I am not normal, I am the only parent in the world who would out such conditions on their child concerning mobile phone use.
I am a stand over man in his opinion.
I have lost this debate as I cannot continue arguing in front of the other three children, or take any more. Was I wrong in my attempts to place such conditions?

This River Red Gum has towered above me all my life.Just to pass her, fills my mind with memories of times and, people gone by, this poem is deicated to her.
Tapped into the bowls of the earth
She stood with awe
Dignity and mirth
Her children spread, from hill, to range,
Sheltering their children,
From the elements of change.
If a bolt of lightening
Hit the grass, and a blazing inferno,
Should come, to pass
She would not die of the radiant heat,
Yet sprout new life
And, spawn more children,
At her roots and, feet.
If you strike, her opaque bark skin
With axe or saw, you’ll do her in.
Or deprive her of children, by cutting them down.
She’ll silently weep golden tears,
That blood stains the ground.
She shelters the wilderness, from the hot suns rays
She has stood for a billion and fifty days.
Her prize is her timber, a blood red wood.
It fetches a dollar, and it looks real good
The price is our water that sustains life on earth.
If you take her from the ground, that’s what she’s worth.

I am in victoria Australia . I have Cantelope and Honey Dew in my yard . They grew from scraps I threw in my garden . Up until last year I didn't even know it was warm enough down here for them to grow .
They have fruit now, though it is immature. Will it ripen before winter ?
When should I plant to get successfull fruit next year
