I want to go away for my 30th birthday. Unfortunately, none of my friends can come (kids, money issues). So, I'm off alone (which I don't mind). I was going to do a cruise..but it's so much to go by yourself.

So, now I'm looking for an all-inclusive resort in either Jamaica, Bahamas, or the Dominican Republic. As a single woman, who is mostly looking to lounge and meet new friends, where should I go? I'm also looking to go on a budget..so any ideas are appreciated!!

My church's singles ministry is having a cookout on Saturday. I'm suppose to come up with games/activities to keep us entertained. I've been swamped at work and haven't had time to look anything up (besides ice breakers).

Keep in mind it's a CHURCH BBQ..so no beer pong games ;-) Also, everyone is in their 20's, early 30's.

I want to take my honey away for the weekend but I'm not sure where. The #1 place I want to go is the Poconos..but he wants to go there as a married couple (what's taking him so long..I don't know!! That's another post..lol)..so the Poconos are out. We could stay in New York City (but because we are from the area and work there..that doesn't seem all that "special").

Any ideas on where to go?? We would leave on Friday afternoon and come back home Sunday morning. Thanks!

I'm dating a great guy..we've been dating for almost 8 months. We love each other..have talked about marriage, etc. But, there still seems to be a wall between us. His previous girlfriend..he dated for 4 years..3 of which she cheated on him. There was even a child involved..which he was lead to believe was his..and come to find out..it wasn't.

He has some REAL trust issues..even though he says he knows he'll never have to worry about me cheating on him (which is true). However, it seems the closer I try to get to him..to make more of a commitment.the further he leans back.

How can I get him to let go of the past so we can move forward in our future?

I just started a new babysitting referral agency. I'm trying to recruit college-aged (or a little older) babysitters. What are some ways I can can advertise the positions. I'm already using Craigslist...as well as various college career websites...

If you used a babysitting referral service:

Would you rather pay a membership fee (one-time) and a low referral fee (billed everytime agency sent a babysitter) OR would you rather pay NO membership fee and a higher referral fee?

ALSO -

Would you rather be able to buy pre-paid referral packages (5, 10, 25 referrals for one price) OR would your rather be billed every month for unlimited referrals (no matter how often you use them)?

I dated a guy for only 6 months but due to different beliefs (we are both Christians but believe different things as far as religious traditions. I'm also a bit more spiritually mature than him), we both decided that we are too different for it to work. I have decided to have no contact, just to get myself together (even though I still love him). It's been only a week and a half and so far, I'm doing good. But, after 2 months of no contact (my goal), what happens?

Have you done 2 months (atleast) of no contact with an ex? What happened? Did you end up back together..as best buddies..or is there still no contact. Let me know!

Been dating this guy (Sam) for about 6 months. Had our ups and downs..communication between us isn't the best (I'd admit). 90% of the time I'm the one calling to get things running again.

Last Friday, we didn't have definite plans. I knew he wanted to take me out to dinner but it was the last night of a church conference and I wanted to attend it. I was really feeling low and felt that God was calling me to attend church that night. Come to find out Sam wanted to surprise me with a night on the town. Since I was really into going to church..he gets upset and even though I try to make him understand, I don't hear anything from him. I text and call that night and the next day. Nothing. FOUR days later, he sends a random text about my job search, which i just say is going well. Today, it's almost a week and we still haven't talked. Since I'm always the peacemaker, I don't feel like I need to make any move. Now, I don't know if I even want to be with him. What should I do?

Ok..here is the deal. Last week, I took a half day off for an interview (interview as 45 minutes away from my job..and started late- used car trouble excuse). I shouldn't have interviewed there because I should have known the pay wouldn't be what I wanted..but whatever.

Yesterday, I took a day off to interview in NY (I work and live in NJ) - called out sick. I should have tried to schedule that a little better..for later this week because now I have ANOTHER interview in NY. It's been pushed back to next Tuesday. I wanted to meet today (to ride the "I'm still sick" train..but no such luck).

URGH!!! What do I tell my bosses? I think they are going to begin to wonder because I NEVER take any time off..and here it is..3 weeks in a row!

I really want the job I interviewed for yesterday..so if I get notified in time that I have that job..no need for me to worry about interviewing next Tuesday. But, if I don't get notified in time..I want to still do the interview. HELP!!

Last night the guy that I've been seeing stated, "There's nothing to tell" in re: to him and us. How can he say that after all this time..all we've been going through and experiencing and loving each other (we've both said we loved each other).

Also, it seems lately like he doesn't want to go out & do things and I'm not trying to go over his apt. anymore. He claims that he can't take "it"..which is the temptation & emotions, etc. and I'm not trying to sleep with him..so I'm thinking since he can't take it anymore & since we're still trying to get to know each other, we need to take it out more but lately we haven't gone out anywhere. He also claims he has all these ideas..but he doesn't bring them up because he knows I'm not going to be for them. Which I responded..you don't know. (I'm a conservative Christian).

I'm not looking for a girlfriend title but I'm trying to get closer and it seems like he's not taking it there. What should I do?

Sunday night, the guy that I have been dating, had a conversation..some stuff was said that showcased a bit of my insecurity about how he really feels about me.

I guess he took things as possibly moving too fast..or for whatever reason..he said on Sunday that he needed time to think. I'm not sure to think about WHAT..but I'm guessing us and the "relationship" and all.

So, I've been giving him time to think. We haven't communicated at all (no phone, text, smoke signals) since Sunday night.

Now, it's Thursday and I'm like..ok. I've had some time to think about some stuff too..and we (him and I) really need to talk. But, I'm like..so confused. I want to give him his space and time..but I definitely don't want to contact him first.

He said he loved me..but now I'm doubting if it's really "love". I know we care about each other..but I don't know..I'm so confused. I want time away from him..but I'm also wondering..what is he thinking? Should I just let him go?

I need to analyze survey results in Excel. I don't need to compare one question with another question (i.e. How many 15-19 year olds think smoking is harmful) so the Pivot Table component is no use (or is it?). I just need to know how many of people answered Q1 with a response of A, how many with a response of B, etc.

I can only think of analyzing each question separately. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm thinking of starting a seminar production company for the public in the near future. I want to start off small and then see where everything leads.

My target audience is women, middle-to-upper class, 21-35. With and without children. Singles and married.

What topics would be of interest to them?

I'm going to San Antonio this weekend for my friend's baby shower. She just called me and told me that she may be delivering early because she has begun to dilate. Her boyfriend is working on Friday and may not be able to take off. There really isn't anyone else to pick me up from the Austin airport (flying to Austin is cheaper). How can I get from Austin to San Antonio in the fastest and cheapest way?

I do have some options:

Call this guy who I used to date who is now at Ft. Hood in Killeen to come pick me up and take me to San Antonio. But, he may be working when i get in (12:30pm on Friday) and I really don't want to see him during this time.

Rent a car for a day to drive from the airport to San Antonio. But, I don't want to have to pay to rent a car.

Have the boyfriend miss a day of work.

My church is having a street fair that will be open to the community in September. It will be a Friday evening/all day Saturday event. I have a few ideas on how to get the message out there but I'm interested in seeing what you guys can offer. There will be rides, health screenings, food vendors..the usual. I want to get it announced on the radio..we have flyers. We don't really have money to pay for a mailing. I'm just looking for creative and FREE ideas to boost attendance. Oh! We're also having praise dancers and of course music (there will be a stage). Thanks!!

It's a 2002 Gold Chevy Cavalier..75,000 miles. New battery (about a month old with a 12 month warranty). Last serviced in January..will get a 75,000 service check up soon. I've gotten regular check ups. Here are the "problems":

1) driver side car lock was popped (not fully out) when someone tried to steal it. Key will not fit in lock. Talked to dealership to get estimate (I haven't heard back yet)...I'm thinking with the damage done to it, labor, replacing cylinder, etc..it should be about $300.

2) minor scratches on bumpers..nothing major..regular wear and tear

I don't know if I'm going to get it detailed. May just get the carpets shampooed and get a nice wax.

Kelley Blue book says $5800 (it's in good condition). What do you think? I was thinking between 5500 (the lowest I would want to walk away with) and $6500 (which is want I want to set the price for).

What do you think? What would be the highest you would pay for it??

I'm looking to buy a CPO Ford Escape in June. However, I want to sell my 2002 Chevy Cavalier. I don't need to sell for a down payment for the "new" car; I already have the money. I do need to sell for tuition and savings. Should I buy the Escape first and then sell..or should I sell the car first. The Cavalier is in good condition, with a new battery and minor scratches from wear and tear. I think I should get a good $6000/$6500 for it. I plan to clean it up real good and place an ad on the internet and in the newspaper, so hopefully, it shouldn't take TOO long to sell. I want the Escape in June, though.

Any suggestions?

I didn't file my federal income taxes last year and I owed about $300. This year, I plan on filing (it's not too late!) and this time Uncle Sam owes me over $400. Can I just file both at the same time and hope they send me the difference as a refund, minus the penalties? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I recently got cable internet through Cablevision/Optimum. However, half the time, I can't connect (the LAN status description says Enabled..then a couple of seconds..Network cable unplugged -- even though everything is secure in its place..then it goes back to enabled..then network cable unplugged..and so on and so on). Somehow my brother will get it to work..but if i shut the computer down..it doesn't connect again. I've called Cablevision twice..one time they said it's the modem....then the next..they said it was the ethernet plug/cable. Before I go down there, does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be? Has anyone had this problem??

I got a new Blackberry from work and I've been giong to Yahoo from the browser section. However, when I try to sign in, it says account login incorrect. I KNOW I'm entering the text correctly (correct lowercase and all) so I don't know what's going on. Any suggestions? Thanks!
