  • How to bake brie properly?

The last time I baked brie I scored the top and placed uncovered in an ovenproof dish at 350 until it was bubbling (I also put a jam compote on the cheese about 15 min. into baking).

When I took it out to cool slightly before eating the cheese didn't have that melted texture but a curdled one. It wasn't very good and I don't know why the cheese didn't melt the way it should.

  • When a baby transitions from 3 naps to 2 naps how do you work in the last bottle feeding?

My 8 3/4 baby boy took a monster long nap this afternoon and won't fit in a 3rd nap and I completely forget the way the 4th formula bottle and general late afternoon feeding goes (I have also have a 4 yr. old and must still have baby brain because I truly don't remember).

As it stands now he gets a bottle every 4 hours and 3 solid meals. Do I just put my 2nd child to bed after 3.5 to 4 hours and wait for him to wake up on his own for the last bottle? Also if I feed him the solid meal at dinner time should I just aim for about 5:30'ish and give him some water in a cup?

Sorry if my question is a bit scattered but my brain feels that way lately so hopefully you clear thinking Moms can figure out what I'm asking.

  • Does Baklava need to be refrigerated?

I just made a tray of baklava but the recipe ends with just telling me to cool it down several hours or overnight before making the final diamond cuts through the phyllo dough. I know you buy it from the store or restaurant and it's been kept in the fridge but I can't see any of the ingredients in the dessert spoiling as it's soaking in a honey syrup. Any ideas?

  • Knotted hair detangling shampoo for long-haird dogs?

I have a Sheltie dog who gets really bushy and knotted fur. When I have taken her to a dog groomer she comes back with nice soft straight fur. I am wondering if anyone knows of a product that I can buy or even make myself that will relax or just make it easier to brush.

  • 38 weeks pregnant with 2nd child. Likelihood of going before 40 weeks as I did with my first child?

When I was pregnant with my first child my water broke first at 5am and then labour started at 38 + 4 weeks. I still waited about 18 hours before giving birth.

I am wondering if there are any other mothers out there who have 2 or more children who also went into labour prior to 40 weeks with their first child and did you go any earlier with your additional children? Did you have a similar birth (except obviously I know to expect a child sooner than 18 hours later)?

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and so want to have this child soon. As like everyone else around this stage I am soooooo tired of being pregnant!

  • What is the best style of baby sling for nursing hands-free?

After not being able to move around or do much of anything when I nursed my first child I have heard about some women who manage to where a sling and move around more freely.

I am about 2 months away from giving birth to my 2nd child and would really love anyone's suggestions on the style of sling to best achieve this.

  • Squirming sleeper?

I have a 9 month old baby who is pretty big. He has taken to squirming in his sleep and by morning all his covers are off and he's sideways in his crib. Even with a baby sleeping bag he manages to get out. One morning he was crying at 5am and when I went in his legs were through the bars. Will he grow out of this or what can I do?

  • Abortion Questions?

Just want to know why so many people are rude and nasty when someone asks a question on this topic? This is a question and answer forum where most people are asking legitimate questions to their problems. No one is asking opinions to life in general so why be low class? Who do people think they are when dishing out disgusting remarks about another person's choices anyway?

  • Baby won't let Dad put him to sleep anymore.?

My baby is almost 8 months old and for the past week he refuses to have my boyfriend put him to sleep at night. I know this is the age baby's get super attached to Mom because I'm around him all the time but my BF has put him to sleep countless times before. He cried for 40 min. past his bedtime yesterday until I came in to put him down. Should I let him cry it out with Dad or what?

  • Yikes! I washed my baby boy's clothes with a red towel and now everything is pink!?

What will get it out? The laundry is still wet in the washer and have already tried washing again (without the stupid red towel). Still pink. Should I try bleach?

  • Menstration and Breastfeeding #2?

Hi all; a continuation to my earlier question on the subject. I have discovered that during menstration the amount of breastmilk decreases so I half expected more feedings and thought I may have to supplement as I am not producing 5 - 6 oz per feeding. My baby has always been a hungry hippo and is about 20lbs. He woke up at 12:30am after his last feed and wanted to play instead of sleeping and then woke again at 6:30am. Maybe hormone changes affect taste but he's not rejecting the breast just completely changing up his day/night pattern. Any thoughts?

  • Menstrating while breastfeeding?

I just got my first period after 14 weeks of having my baby and want to know if it affects breastfeeding. My little guy skipped his afternoon feeding session because he slept for 3 hours and went 5 hours from the previous feed. Should I be concerned or happy I'm not sure? That would make him only having 5 feedings today because I am fortunate he has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now.

  • If I should be glad my son won't take the pacificer then what can I do to stop his crying when he's fussy?

Thanks for all the answers to the pacificer question (I had tried a few of the ideas already with no luck). My problem is when he's had a full feeding and I know he wants to sleep he gets really angry at not getting to get more breast. I've tried letting him cry it out but he gets so worked up at crying and screaming it's hard not to just give in.
