What is the funniest/most inappropriate thing a professor has ever said to you?
I'll go first...my Chem 101 professor had a twisted sense of humor, and he tended to have a very dark side in our 8 am class. He also did a lot of inappropriate stuff, since no one was usually awake enough to care (except lucky me, the notetaker). One morning he told us that the only way he made it through the 8 a.m. classes was snorting cocaine. And when he went to a conference, he left a letter for the substitute professor to read us...he took the time to write out the entire (uncensored) lyrics to "I'm on a Boat." I also had a professor tell me in detail about the first time he bought weed as an undergrad. Awkward...
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoHow do you spell the name of the NHL player that sounds like "Happy Boolan"?
I remember watching hockey with my dad when I was a kid, and this goalie (?) was one of my fav players...probably because I thought his name was actually "Happy." Anyone know who I am thinking of? Is he still playing?
4 AnswersHockey1 decade agoLooking for a good movie to watch...something along the lines of Pulp Fiction and True Romance...?
I just watched Pulp Fiction and absolutely loved it. True Romance is great to...I've seen just about every other Quentin Tarentino movie (except Reservoir Dogs, which I did not like). So some sort of dark crime/comedy would be good.
Or a good drama - Rainman/Atonement/Schindler's Lists are other favorites of mine, if that helps at all.
Any suggestions! I really dislike musicals, romances, and most comedies - I'd like to watch something relatively recent, too. Like within the last 25 years.
Thanks!
4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoWhat is a typical week like in the life of a first-year med. school student?
I know there probably isn't really a "typical" week, per se, but can you give me an idea how many hours daily are spent in class/studying, how much time spent with friends, what happens on the weekends, etc?
Thx.
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoCan you recommend a good book for me? To give you an idea what I like, I've just read Revolutionary Road,?
World War Z, Death with Interruptions, Atonement, and Lolita. I'm looking for something modern, that's well-written and entertaining to read. Nothing too hard to follow, since I usually read late at night. (I started Ulysses, and its not a book to read in bed!) Any suggestions? Thanks!

Metabolic processes?
2 AnswersBiology1 decade agoWhat should I do to make myself sexier?
I know this question sounds totally superficial, but bear with me! My bf always calls me sexy, but I want to surprise him and, well, be really sexy. I don't mean clothes and attitude (I think I have those covered, lol), but things more along the lines of body care. I.e. getting a tan, or maybe even a Brazilian. So, girls, what do you do to surprise your man and in general keep yourself looking good? (and guys too, what do you wish your girlfriend did to look better?)
2 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoQuestions about going to a tanning salon...?
I want to get a tan - not really dark, just something equivalent to a nice summer tan all over my body - so I'm going to a (desert sun) tanning salon for the first time tomorrow, and have a bunch of questions...First, how many times will I have to go to notice a tan? I have white skin, but already a bit of a tan from this summer. I also tan fairly easily. I need to wear my bikini, right? Once I have a tan, how often will I need to go to keep it the same? Should I buy tanning lotion or something at the salon? I shouldnt wear makeup, right? Basically anything you could tell me about using a tanning bed would be awesome, thanks!

5 AnswersMovies1 decade agoCould someone explain the health care debate going on in Congress to me?
I haven't been able to follow the news for about a month now, so I really don't know much beyond the fact that no one can agree what to do about health care reform...Anyway if you could be detailed, and unbiased!, I'd appreciate it.

6 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhat's the best way to keep my laptop's screen clean?
It's brand new, but I've already managed to get some greasy fingerprints on the screen. Not to mention the dust that is attracted to it...What can I use to clean it? Windex? Dry cloth?
Thanks!
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoApple or PC? And why?
10 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoCould someone help me understand the zeroth law of thermodynamics?
The law is that "if two thermodynamic systems are separately in thermal equilibrium with a third, they are also in thermal equilibrium with each other" - but, this doesn't make any sense to me. Say you have a container of boiling water, a container of ice-water, and a container of room temperature water. The law says that when the boiling water is in thermal equilibrium with the room temperature water (which is the third system), then THIS equilibrium should be the same as an equilibrium between the third system (room temp.) and ice water. But the first equilibrium will be somewhere between room temp. and 100 deg. C., and the second will be between room temp. and freezing. They won't be the same, unless THEY are in contact, right?
Do you see what I mean?..
2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoWhat will be covered in a freshman chemistry or biology class?
I'm taking bio and chem this fall at college, and I'd like to be prepared for the courseload. What can I do in this next month to get ready? Can you give me an idea what my coursework will be?
Both classes include labwork and are meant for prospective majors in either subject.
Thanks!
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoIs there anything fun/cool I can do with my facebook account?
I just got one through school (college class), but I'm not really liking how one-size-fits-all the profiles are. Lists of favorite books, friends' comments, profile pics - honestly, its all a little boring. What kind of fun stuff can I do on Facebook? What are some of the more interesting features?
Thanks.
