  • Took May 28 MCAT and need help?

I know it's normal to freak out after the MCAT, but I feel like I really did bad. I was scoring about 32 before on PMCATs, but I feel like I blew entire sections and I know I didn't time manage well, having like 4 sections left with like 22 minutes left. It also had passages where I literally just sat there going "WTF?" and then i realized holy crap im in the middle of the real MCAT... I want to go to medical school, but I want to go to a decent one too. Basically I don't know if I should try to retake a July MCAT or wait for my scores to come back and just try for the Spring semester. I'd love advice, but really people with similar experiences would be the best. What did you do? Thanks!

    Sigh...

  • Are you taking the May 28 MCAT?

    If you are:

Have you taken a practice MCAT?

What are the best scores you received if you have taken a practice MCAT? (overall and section by section)

    How nervous are you?

What are the chances you choke?

Would you consider throwing the test to help everyone else with the curve? Why not?

  • Why do Christians and Atheists constantly fight on R&S?

I feel like I am insane. I normally help out the sciences but occasionally I peak my head into R&S. Almost every question asked is a sort of stab at either Christians or Atheists.

Examples, just going to the current front page of R&S:

"Can a person be a good, charitable human being, yet also an atheist/agnostic?"

"If god created me why do I have to ask him to save me?"

"Does anyone think that what many Christians on Y!A is counterproductive? (from a christian)?"

"Two men lead identical lives, but have different religions, would not they have the same result?"

"How do Christians know murder and rape is wrong when it's encouraged in the Bible?"

"For Those Who Are Blind and Cannot See..........?"

I honestly want to know why everyone is always at eachothers throat in this section. Christians and atheists can co-exist. Atheists don't have to repeatedly go around saying that Christianity is wrong and stupid. Christians don't have to tell atheists they are living a life of sin and have guaranteed their place in hell. Yahoo answers is supposed to be a place where people can ask questions and receive answers. Can't everyone be mature and ask questions they do not understand and give answers that don't attack and put down other people.

Really my question is, why can't we just all get along. =)

  • House Season Finale "Both Sides Now"?

Uh... so I missed the beginning but the impression I got was House slept with Cuddy. Then at the end by looking at his Codine, which I assume he was using instead of Vicodin because he was feeling less pain, he flashed back and saw he didn't actually have a relationship with Cuddy.

Am I missing something? There were a lot of clips of him just holding the bottle. Also, I mean house was seeing dead people before, halluniating about Cuddy doesn't seem like enough to make him check himself in. I feel like I wasn't paying enough attention.

    Thanks guys!

  • Doctors/EMTs/RNs/PAs/Med Students/Awesome Researchers - Right upper arm pain?

Hi, I am a 20 year old male, 6'1'' and overweight, 195lbs. I have recently started to worry about my heart health because I was standing up quickly and would get head rushes. I'd explain them as after about 4 secs of standing from sitting, I would begin to feel light headed, lose strength and balance, kinda lose my sense of reality and like 2 times I fell to the floor (Almost pre-feinting). I never have feinted, and normally I will maintain my balance or grab something to support myself. Also, the frequency of how often these happen vary greatly, as it is normally rare, but one day it happened almost everytime I got up so that's when I begin to think heart problem (low circ, low BP, pre-atherosclerosis) but I may be jumping to conclusions. I do have fam history of high cholesterol and heart problems though. ANYWAYS thats background, though feel free to comment on this too!

Anyways, recently when I lay on my stomach to do homework on my bed, my upper right arm begins to hurt. The feeling goes away if I sit up, and will set in after 5-15 mins of doing work. Any idea what this is? I of course led myself to think it is my arm not getting enough circulation, but it isn't a numbing feeling, it is a dull pain. Thanks all! I greatly appreciate it.

Also, when you respond PLEASE give a source, either your profession/prior experience or a website link. Thanks!

  • What are the adverse effects of food irradiation?

I know food irradiation is widely considered safe and approved by the FDA, USDA, and CDC, but I know their are studys that say it has negative effects. Can you tell me some of those effects and supply sources. Thanks All!!! (Also, don't bother answering if you say there are none, some studies have found that. I am only looking for legit studies that HAVE found adverse effects)
