What do you do to cope with parents with impossible expectations?
I am a minor, and i am just now able to drive, and my parents are putting a lot of pressure on me to get a job and volunteer. I am not opposed to this in any way. I lead an EXTREMELY busy life, i have something going on every weekday. I have been trying my absolute hardest to get a job but no one will hire me (apparently you need experience to collect shopping carts). This is not my fault, but my parents make it out to be, saying I need to try in person (did that) etc. I even started my own business (that has been slow) but that did not satisfy. The idea is that i have to pay for my gas and my insurance with is about 140$ a month. I (not always) get 10$ weekly allowance. That leaves me 100$ short and with no spending money at all. I have a few hundred in my savings account (all the rest was wiped out when I had to buy my own car) and it took me three years to get there. I don't want to spend my penny-pinched savings just to be broke, have to close my bank account(that i just got) and forfeit my dream of instrument ownership, just to satisfy them, but i don't know what to do. They want to teach responsibility, which i have already clearly demonstrated by balancing everything and still making good grades and being an All-stater. And money management (also demonstrated by hundreds of dollars from a 40$ a month income) how do I tell them that they are putting too much pressure on me over things i can't control without without damaging our relationship or starting a fight?
