wet with Spring's teardrops.

I have, or at least I think I have, half of the problem, and I don't really understand what to do next, or if I have got it right.

-7x^2 - 2x + 9 = 0

I know the quadratic formula.

a = -7

b = -2

c = 9

x = 2 +/- SQUARE ROOT OF 2^2 - 4(-7)(9)

And after simplifying it, I got:

x = 2 +/- SQUARE ROOT OF 260

......-----------------------------------------

...........................-14

Now I don't exactly know what to do? I'm not allow to have decimals, or fractions inside the square root sign, and with past examples of this kind of Algebra, I haven't had much luck.
