  • what is an acceptable gift for your child graduating from college?

My daughter who is 23 will be graduating from college with her B.S. In mass media in December 2008. I want to get her a great gift for doing a job well done, however her expectations are higher than what I can afford to give. All of her girlfriends come from more substantial means and thier parents have given gifts such as new cars and homes...etc etc. Now of course my daughter thinks she deserves the same and has stated that she will be disappointed. I am looking to give her a meaningful gift that doesn't cost near as much as a car. I have supported her through college and helped out as much as possible financially as I can. She has two younger brothers, one still at home and the other just begining his career in the Air Force. I was thinking about a new wardrobe for her to start her job searching in and to have nice clothes to wear to work. Is this enough? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • Has anyone hosted a foreign exchange student? What was your experience like?

We are thinking about hosting a Senior Girl from Venezuela here in America. What are the pros and cons and how do you know if that child will fit into your family dynamics?

  • Lost Pet what else can be done?

Our little yorkie got outside un-supervised on Thanksgiving day and we have not seen him since. I am sick over this and was wondering if anyone knew of any resourses out there that could help me in finding him. We have put of reward posters, called local vets, the pound and knocked on doors for hours. We have searched ditches, the fields, the woods all to no avail. I guess that I have to just keep hoping that he comes home safe and sound, but the more days go by the harder it is to keep the faith he will be home soon.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I hate to think I have done everything possible. I have also posted his information on lost pets sos online.

  • What happens if my boss wants me to apply for a job I have no interest in?

I work in an accounting firm as a bookkeeper/payroll administrator, and my boss sells securities as well. He wants me to apply as an associate with the securities company. I have no interest in this job he wants me to apply for, which includes a background check and some very personal questions that I would rather not answer because they aren't relevent to my current job. So how do I tell him that I have no interest in this job without him getting all pissy about it?

  • Shiba Inu Help?

I have a 6 month old female that I have been working with since we brought her home 3 months ago. She has gotten over her chewing on things other than HER things. This is my problem. I let her outside (off leash because we have 15 acres) but when its time to come in she looks at me and runs the opposite direction. I can call her and tell her to STOP and she will stop for a moment before she decides that running off is the thing to do. What is the best way to train the headstrong Shiba to come when called?

  • Has anyone ever sold a house and then had regrets? How did you deal with them?

We had lived here most of our adult lives and are saddened by the decision we have made. Our children grew up in this house and there are many memories there. Just having regrets now as to wheather it was the right thing to do.
