  • Ford transit 2002 intermittent problems?

I have a mate with a 2 litre Ford Transit van 02 plate that has developed an ignition fault intermittent fault. Been to local Ford garage and they have plugged in diagnostic system, no problem reported. Changed alternator, same problem happened 3hrs later! injectors not leaking or blocked, no warning lights on dash and now I'm running out of ideas. It's a diesel. Basically just doesn't fire, turns over on key but not even trying to catch. When it does run it's fine but you get to stage of not turning it off in case it won't go again. Any suggestions (besides sell it - I said that and was as popular as a fart in a spacesuit) appreciated.

Apparently ECU has been changed too at garage but still problem occurring.

  • Fiat 500 different types and other questions?

Due to inheriting some money my wife and I are going to upgrade our cars. She would like a Fiat 500 but I'm first to admit I know bugger all about them. They seem to hold their money and good road tax but other than that are they reliable? She doesn't want bog standard but the Abarth (I know what that is having had a selection of early Fiats - hence my reluctance) but I have also seen one with Supersport on it, is that top top range or is that still the Abarth? HELP!!!

  • Cryptic clue help me please!!!?

My dad is doing a quiz where all the answers are film titles. The clues are cryptic to say the least. Between myself and him we have got 71 out of 72 but this last one is driving us insane. Any help to stop me throwing myself out of the window would be appreciated!

Sounds like you turn on write-off; but the opposite.

    Thank you all :)

  • Hysteria release date?

I keep looking out for the movie Hysteria with Maggie Gyllenhall release date in UK. It was according to imdb.com out last year and there was a (badly) dubbed version on internet from Russia but nothing from Uk. Anyone know when it's due out here? Even if straight to dvd. Thanks :)

  • Windows 7 Professional 64bit Help?

I have Win7 pro 64bit as my os. I have noticed with several programmes installed on my C drive (I have 4 hard disks in total) that anything installed is protected and in one instance "hidden" (and not as in hidden and system files - just hidden!!!) yet Windows remembers what I have done. It allows me to edit and save documents from Word etc, yet open a .txt file in wordpad it's "access denied". I have to copy file to other hard drive (it's only c drive that appears to be protected) edit and save it then put it back on c drive. Where or how is Windows putting my invisible files. And if I use the "show hidden and system files" still not there. Same with the protected status, not write protected, either on properties in Windows or attributes against it in DOS mode. HELP!!!

  • I need some advice regarding DDR2 Ram?

I have an ASUS P5QL-CM motherboard and would like to upgrade my RAM. I'm kind of loathe to go to PC World as last time they managed not only to break my computer case but also tried to charge me to repair it! I'm capable of changing RAM but not sure as to what is the best make/compatible with motherboard. After 4Gb RAM, price not a problem (unless the mrs finds out) and preferably PC2-8500. Have been on Crucial & Kingston websites where ironically they have none in stock(!) and ebuyer just wants to sell me the most expensive with no guarantee of compatability.

All suggestions, and if possible links, gratefully received :)

  • Science Fiction Books?

As a kid I remember reading a series of books where the main characters were elements, such as Mother Nature, Fire (I think), Death (I remember that at the beginning of this one a regular guy saw death approaching him, "killed" death and therefore became the replacement). I think there were around 6 books in the series.

I read them all as a child, though I'm guessing that they were not meant for children, from the local library. Unfortunately I have forgotten who the author is though I do think I remember them always being close to Asimov so logically if it's not him then another Science Fiction writer beginning with "A".

I realise that this is seriously vague but I have faith in you lot. That and the fact I am now banging my head on the desk trying to remember anything else lol. HELP!!!!!!

  • Subaru Legacy questions?

What do people think? I've been offered a 51 plate Subaru Legacy 2.0 litre GL auto for a grand.

It's low mileage, in decent condition but I've not had a lot to do with Scoobys and want to know of anything I should be looking out for. Also if anything I can do to uprate it (nothing silly).

    Cheers

  • Graphics card problem?

I've just installed a new m/board & processor in my desktop with an onboard graphics processor (Intel G43/G45 Express Chipset)

It plays most games and in theory should have more memory than my Geforce 6600 card (not installed) I used before. However GTA4 won't do anything, am I doing something wrong or should I just install Geforce 6600 again?

  • Where is the external temp sensor (displays outside temp) in a Vauxhall Vectra CDX?

I've been told it's in the wing, although as the person telling me this wasn't sure which wing and even that "well it may be under front bumper" came into the conversation I am not too sure.

It's a 51 plate 2.6 v6 cdx if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help.

  • Contraceptive Pill help?

Hi, yes I'm male therefore ignorant of the pill really. However a friend has me kind of worried. She's just started seeing a man and has gone on the pill as sleeping together. She has never been on any contraception before, and she says the pill starts working from the moment you start to take it, now I am not sure, so please ladies/gents/Drs out there, who's right before it's too late! I'm afraid I don't know what brand of pill she's on either before anyone asks! She's 26, and has just had an operation for endiometriosis (whether that effects anything I don't know but thought I'd throw it in anyway).

  • How do I install multiple SATA hdd's?

I have a Seagate Barracuda 300gb drive as my main system disk. This is becoming full, and also will no longer defrag properly. On previous systems I have just added another HDD (IDE Connector) but now I'm confused. Have bought a Hitachi 500gb SATA hdd, installed it, no problem. However when I go into My Computer it's not shown as a drive, but it is picked up in the control panel as working properly. I've Windows XP SP2 running, and I do really need to have both drives running together if possible. Can anyone help?
