  • How many here like hairy legs on a woman?

Yesterday somebody posed the question how do some men find hairy legs on a woman attractive? Of course everybody has differing tastes and is much influenced by social conditioning. There are rarely images of women in the media showing any body hair and if they do they tend to be derogatory, eg Julia Roberts with pit hair.

When I was growing up in London I did often see women with hairy legs (not now) and to me it seemed the most normal, natural thing in the world. I actually found these hairy legs, whether a light blond fuzz or heavier, darker growth, much more attractive than shaved legs. Many young European women from countries such as Germany + Poland at that time tended to be hairy (though now most shave) and to me was a sign of natural beauty.

I appreciate I'm in a minority but are there many other guys (or women) who appreciate hairy legs on a woman or women do you have partners past or present) who appreciate leg fuzz?

  • Women, have you ever let your leg hair grow out fully?

When I was growing up I quite often saw women of various ages with hairy legs, but now rarely. There's a strong social pressure for women to depilate but have you rebelled against this "norm"? What made you do this and are you still hairy or did you resume hair removal? If you did remove the hair again what influenced your decision (personal preference or of a partner or public reaction)? Did you get any positive responses from partners or others about staying natural?

Out of interest it would be good to know your rough age group, ethnicity + how hairy you are as these factors may be an influence. Perhaps you just shave for summer months when your legs are covered up. Thanks for any sensible answers.

  • Do you practice wildlife gardening?

Do you do anything in your garden to attract wildlife into it? What measures have you tried and what successes? Is your garden in an urban, suburban or rural location and what sort of size is it?

  • How many women are comfortable with their natural body hair?

As a guy I've always appreciated a woman in her natural state, though these days less and less women seem comfortable resisting razors/waxes. Areyou a woman comfy with your fuzz + even enjoy its qualities? How many other guys/women enjoy the visual/tactile qualities of female body hair? Are some women comfy with their leg/pit hair but just remove it when baring these areas because they dislike the disapproving stares of others?

I've dated several women who don't shave. One had long dark (head) hair, fine dark hair on her arms/thighs, bushy dark pits (which she liked shocking people with) + thicker hair on her lower legs. Perhaps once or twice a year she'd shave just her lower legs. She did like her leg hair but also enjoyed a slow sensual session of shaving them on the odd occasion, but she also liked the changing sensations from smooth to prickly + softer as the hair grew out + if I'm honest though I loved her hairy legs also enjoyed these rare occasions too. Anyone else?

  • Any other guys who love hairy pits/legs on a woman.?

On the breakfast show This Morning last week an attractive, articulate woman called Emer O'Toole appeared following some press interviews + she had initially given up removing her leg/pit hair for a year, but loved the look is still going strong 18months later + her boyfriend also loves it. Plenty of links online to this interview for those interested. I thought she looked great + her body hair was earthy, sensual + made a real change to over glossy women we see in the media generally.

I've always preferred natural woman who didn't shave + have had a few hairy girlfriends.. Appreciate many aren't too keen on this, yet quite a few who also appreciate some nice fuzz. How many here?..

  • Any women feel obliged to shave for professional reasons, though would prefer not to?

Are there any women who are themselves comfortable (or even like) with their natural body, hair yet feel obliged to remove some of it for professional reasons?

A good girl friend of mine had this dilemma. Like many she started shaving her legs/pits at the start of her teens + continued until she started college. After a couple of months she got fed up of the hassle + didn't need to dress up + quit shaving. She soon embraced her natural hairiness + felt confident in summer to wear tops that revealed her pit hair + shorts that showed her legs/thighs. Her legs had fine hair- but was conspicuous being brown + there was a lot of it, while her thighs though visibly hairy close up, were less noticeable. As someone who enjoyed the academic life she was at various colleges for some years + never shaved while there.

However after leaving academia she secured a job in management + was expected to dress formally + with a skirt. She felt that wearing tights showing her hairy legs wouldn't be well received by her bosses so after some reluctance shaved her legs below the knees for the first time in some years. As her pits wouldn't be on show + her skirt was mid-length she could get away without shaving these areas. A compromise she felt under pressure to make, but still revels in the rest of her natural hairiness in shorts at the weekend . She can get away with hairy legs in the winter as she can wear stylish leggings which conceal the hair.

Any other women who've had similar experiences.

  • Any women here who've had their legs shaved by a partner or guy who shaved a female partners?

As student a flatmate was going out with lovely hippyish girl who didn't shave anything. After a few months they had a formal event to go to + he suggested she might need to shave her legs for it. She didn't seem keen so he said he'd have to shave them for her. She let him shave her lower legs + he said it was an amazing turn- on soaping + shaving them. Think she enjoyed the intimacy as after this she let her legs get rather bristly + then let him shave them again.

The subject came up with a female friend the other day + she laughed as she said back in the 70's she went a few years without shaving her legs. A new boyfriend at the time tried to persuade her to shave them, but she always declined + laughed it off. Several times he offered to shave them but the answer was always no. After a while he gave up the pressure + stopped asking. She was feeling quite smitten with this guy so when his birthday came up she decided to relent + gave him a surprise. One wrapped present was a pair of sexy stockings + leading him to the bathroom gave him another wrapped present- shaving foam + some razors. A beaming smile came on his face + she said she wished she'd given in earlier + loved the experience.

Any others with any experiences like these?

  • any other shaving late starters or prefer to stay natural?

A German flatmate of mine who has shared for a few years has always been a natural earthy type woman, not wearing make up or removing her body hair. A few months ago at the age of 29 she shaved her moderately hairy legs for the first time on a sudden impulse. She's been doing it fairly regularly since + said she finds it relaxing in the bath though still leaves her pits/bikini area natural. She said she probably wouldn't bother shaving in the winter though.

Any other women who didn't start shaving until after their teens or who leave it natural?

  • Any unusual experiences of shaving/hairiness?

Some years back as a student while in digs my flatmate would often have his girlfriend round who was for want of a better description a sort of hippyish eco-.woman.She was good fun + quite earthy, usually unshaven with fairly hairy legs, etc.

However, maybe 2 or 3 times a year, usually on a wet miserable day when nobody fancied going out, she would disappear into bathroom wearing my mate's dressing gown, hairy legs exposed! Soon after he would follow in wearing shorts, a smile on his face + carrying shaving foam/razors.

An hour or so later he would return to his bedroom, soon followed by her; the legs now looking white without the long brown hairs. The bedroom door was then locked for the next 2 or 3 hours when they would both reappear smiling!

  • Hairy-legged feminist- old stereotype no longer applicable?

There is this image of feminists with hairy legs- certainly through 60's to 80's it was not uncommon to see women fitting this image. Possibly not all were "feminists" as many Europeans, earthmother types, etc also had this natural look that defied western expectations of the media, etc. Now it's very rare so what changed?

Are you a feminist who went through a hairy legs stage- how long did this last, what reactions (positive/negative did you get?) + if you no longer are hairy-legged what made you start shaving/waxing again or are you one of the few that refuses to yield to the blade?

  • Where was the last time you saw a woman with hairy legs or pits?

I used to see quite a lot of European women with natural unshaved body hair + UK arty/alternative women like this, but now virtually all conform to hairless look. Shame there's less individuality now as I rather like a bit of fuzz!

  • Any guys out there who've asked their woman to stop shaving body hair?

These days many women remove most/all body hair, yet there are some men who prefer the more natural look- either full bush, pits + some even legs. Are there guys there who've made this request or women who've been asked to be a bit hairier?

As a woman if you've let your body hair grow out did you get any positive response from fellas?

What is it that makes it good to watch?

  • Any guys asked their female partners to stop shaving their pits (or elsewhere)?

In 1970's it was considered in some quarters to be erotic for a woman to have hairy pits- look at the illustrations in The Joy of Sex- yet these days such body hair tends to cause revulsion in many- just look at commotion Julia Roberts amongst others caused when they dared to publicly bare fuzzy pits.

It may now be 2006 but I still find it highly erotic when a woman sports pit hair. My partner obliges, but have others asked partners to grow out their hair with success?

  • Are there guys out there who like women with hairy legs/armpits?

I'm a guy in my 40's who has always appreciated the totally natural woman who doesn't/rarely shaves, etc. Growing up there were plenty of such women around, but in last 15 years or so very few. Am I alone in preferring fuzzy legs + are there women who regularly go natural with their body hair or have done in the past?
