  • Biden said what about Syria?

Ryan: "They're (Russia) still arming the man (Assad). Iran is flying flights over Iraq..

Biden: "And the opposition is being armed."

Holy crap. Why is this not being talked about? Were involved in basically what amounts to a proxy war apparently. This should be HUGE news. May be just another Biden epic slip of the tongue, but i doubt it. Besides, according to him he means what he says..

  • Is this a sign of the Democratic Party coming to their senses?

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/eu_obama_nobel

"A nonviolent movement could not have halted Hitler's armies. Negotiations cannot convince al-Qaida's leaders to lay down their arms," Obama said. "To say that force is sometimes necessary is not a call to cynicism, it is a recognition of history."

The president laid out the circumstances where war is justified — in self-defense, to come to the aid of an invaded nation and on humanitarian grounds, such as when civilians are slaughtered by their own government or a civil war threatens to engulf an entire region.

"The belief that peace is desirable is rarely enough to achieve it," he said.

Don't know about the rest of you, but these sequence of statements surprised me greatly. I would think that this would upset most anyone who supports the Democratic Party. Isn't this the party that has preached negotiations with the Taliban and Al-Qaida almost to a fault? Isn't this the party that called the Iraq invasion unjust? I'm just totally flabbergasted by what Obama said. What say you?

  • Should we have public outcry over my waterboarding cousin???

my 8 year old cousin was splashing water and dunking another child under water at the local indoor pool... the child said that it felt like he was drowning... and i think there was a security camera that caught it all on tape...

  • Violence in Afghanistan is running at its highest level since the Taliban ouster?

so what now? are the same people who want the US out of Iraq, going to want the same of American forces in Afghanistan? I always hear people say... "the increase in violence in Iraq is due to us being there.." and .. "we're losing too many soldiers in Iraq, bring em home..." shouldn't there be some consistency in what anti-war people want?

  • who's been more destructive.. Carter or Bush?

carter was quoted in saying, "i think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history" ..... lol, and after his comment, he said later that , "my remarks were maybe careless or misinterpreted" ... gezzz, another flip-flopping remark from a lib... why can't they just stick to what they say and be done with it? i personally think Carter has been waaaay more destructive in his bad-mouthing he does to other countries about policies of his OWN nation and leaders from his OWN nation. he's worse than Hanoi Jane , the Dixie Chicks, or Kerry combined.

and what has Bush done to deserve this type of criticism?? liberated an entire nation... made terrorists fight in their own backyard... made it safer for us here in the states... took out an oppressive/murderous tyrant.. kept WMD's from possibly getting into terrorists' hands.. i could go on and on..

  • John Kerry stated that we must not underestimate the value of going after terrorists before they strike?

does anyone else think this is laughable? Libs want to punish one of our most important allies on terror in Pakistan, because they say that they are not doing enough to fight terrorism. and to punish them, the Libs want to prevent sale of fighter planes to the Pakistanis, as well as not service the ones they already own..... hmmmm, sounds kinda familiar, doesn't it?

  • This question is for all who oppose our involvement in Iraq..?

I am sick of this anti-war movement.why are we so ignorant?we had a dictator that harbored/supplied terrorists, killed thousands upon thousands of innocent people, stored WMD's (yes,he did have them at one time),invaded a defenseless country, terrorized his own people, broke the treaty that was supposed to have curtailed him,& yet I hear people say that we never should have gone after him!to me,that makes no sense. Now,everyone wants to pull out before the job we started is finished.Like it or not, America is the only SuperPower left ,and we have an obligation as a compassionate nation, to help those in need whic in turn helps secure OUR protection. What would have happened if we pulled out of Japan/Germany/South Korea before the job was done?We did the same (rebuilding/fight resistance) in those places that we're doing now in Iraq.I don't hear anyone bashing our Grandparents.Just like WWII showed, world affairs affect us no matter how much we want to stay out.Why is this hard to understand??
