  • Can anyone describe fromal, semi-formal, smart casual and casual dress code conventions in the Philippines?

I'm gonna attend a national youth summit in Dumaguete City and there are specific dress codes for different events.

I'm really confused since the dress code descriptions in the internet are for the United States and other countries such as UK and the like. The problem is, the formal dress code is white tie, which includes the tuxedo.

However, I don't see that here. haha So, I guess we Filipinos are using a different set of conventions. I think the business attire can be substituted for the formal attire here.

I don't have a barong tagalog, but I think it can be used as formal attire. I have a pair of long sleeves here. Do I need to buy or borrow a coat? I'm really not sure. That's why I need your help.

I think polos can be used for the semi-formal dress code. Also, I think the business casual (long sleeves w/out tie) falls here. Am I right? because in the States it's different. I think it's the tailless version of the white/black tie that describes the semi-formal dres code. Business causal is even different from semi-formal.

And for the smart casual, I think polo shirts are allowed.

If you've been to formal events, conventions and meetings(or at least have the knowledge), I'm glad to here your advice.

    Thanks!

    p.s. I'm 17 years old.

  • I'm looking for the name of this swing variation?

I was taught this kind of swing and I really don't know what variant it is. The lead goes this way,

    Left back

    Shift weight to left

    Right step

    Left front

    Shift weight to left

    Right step

    or it goes

(take note: feet side by side)

    Left back

    Right

    Left original

    Right

It follows songs such as Abba's Dancing Queen and Maroon 5's She Will be Loved.

  • Can strawberries be planted in the tropics in low areas?

I'm wondering because I have heard that strawberries should be planted whre it is cold/cool. In tropical countires like the Philippines, strawberries are typically found in high areas such as mountains and plateaus. But I'm wondering if strawberries can be grown in low-lying plains that are more or less at sea level. I'm interested in growing strawberries and I had a difficulty in searching the internet for resources.
