Anyone recommend a good recent space combat sim for PC?
I greatly enjoyed Freespace 2 back in the day, even bought myself a decent joystick just to play it.
Now, I'd like to try a more recent one, but don't see any that jump out at me. Anyone recommend a good one? I played Eve, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't really a space combat sim, more of an actual space sim, trading, mining, etc.
Nice, but I want to shoot cap ships and fly in squads and pick custom weapon loadouts for my ship and go on SnD and interdiction missions, etc. Remember, PC games! Opinions?
4 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhy can't the Bush Administration ever say anything under oath?
I'm a conservative, but even so, this whole Bush secrecy and not saying a word under oath thing makes a mockery of honest government. I'm looking at you, Rove, Gonzales, Rice, and Cheney...
21 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow to set up a buffer solution?
Ok, Teach says we have to set up a buffer. We are to calculate one that is ± 1 pH from our target pH. We are selecting the target pH and reaction. We are to describe the reaction, calculate it's pH, find pKa from an outside source, and find a suitable buffer via the Henderson-Hasselbach equation: pH = pKa + log (H/HA).
The hard part? I have no idea what to do or how to start. The prof was really vague as to how we are to set it up, which is why I am confused. I will ask him for details, but if anyone has any experience with this, it would help. Would be nice to have a breakdown of the process for selecting a buffer. Sorry if I asked a vague question. I have only a vague assignment to work with. I will pin him down today and get the exact details.

Just curious. Anyone got any strange stories to relate? I'm applying to med school and I'm not drawn to this field even though I like kids, because it would probably be awkward.

Nothing comes up when I open F:. When I scan it or perform backup, several files names FileXXXX.chk are visible in a Found.000 folder that I can't access. Any tools out there to restore data? Maybe the directory info got deleted...

I hope so. Sucks to have to strap ourselves onto a gigantic bomb to reach space.

What's their angle? Do they have caller ID and store your info for telemarketers? Are they documenting listenership? Some stations want you to text msg them. Are they keeping your information?

5 AnswersAir Travel1 decade agoDo you trust average citizens to carry guns?
I think a lot of the 2nd amendment debate hinges on whether or not you feel that an average person/citizen can be trusted with a gun. Do you trust your average citizen, such as the bagger at your store, your neighbor, your co-workers, etc etc... Do you trust yourself with a gun?
I'm not so much interested in personal feelings about guns so much as feelings of distrust of others with guns.

7 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoAre trucks on the freeway responsible for broken windshields?
I see rigs and such on the highways driving around tossing debris on other cars. I personally have had my windshield cracked from this but have never pursued a legal course of action.
I have seen that some of the trucks have a sign on them that say "Not responsible for broken windshields" or some such. With the "Keep back 200 feet" disclaimer, I can understand, but is there some limit to this defense? Is it even defensible?
