  • Should I sign a contract from an owner of a small residential property so that I can draw a small addition?

I run a small drafting service out of my house. I sent a proposal over to a gentleman this morning, and he called back and said "I'm having my lawyer draft up a contract for everyone involved in my addition so I'll call you when that's ready". I've never had to sign anything like that in the past, and the experience I do have with that type of thing isn't good. Most of the time when an owner does that on a small residential project like that it's usually because they plan on suing later to try and get some money back. I don't want to draw plans and have a lawyer pick them apart in a year for the sole purpose of me having to refund my plans fees. Am I freaking out for no reason?

  • Could I run AutoCAD from a thumb drive?

I'd like to be able to work from any were, so I was wondering if there was any way I could run Auto CAD 2008 LT from a flash drive. I'd like to be able to have the option to sit down somewhere and make a few changes on a plan no matter were I was, without toting a laptop.

  • looking for a reasonably priced single speed.?

I have a trek 9800 that I ride around phoenix. I paid six and change for it. I notice that I never bother to change gears. So I've been looking at single speed bikes. They seem to be fairly pricey considering. Does anyone know of a cheap one? I'll ride steel frames, it's no big deal. I'm just not ready to spend upwards of $550 for a bike right now.

  • What are the legal ramifications for falsifying a mechanics lien in AZ?

Here's what happened. I got a call from a guy last night about my house that's on the market and facing foreclosure. This Gentleman "Know's a guy" who can file a fake mechanics lien on my house. Then when the foreclosure goes through this guy will split the money with me. Last night I just took his name and number then hung up the phone. Now I'm curious as to just how illegal it is though? It just blows my mind that people will blatantly throw that out there. Like it's no big deal. There's got to be serious fines or maybe even jail time involved with a scam like that. You're screwing over the bank for crying out loud!

  • What kind of back up software do you guys use?

I'm looking to get some back up software that'll back up my stuff to a external harddrive, or even an online backup solution for my home business. I'm in architecture and there has been situations were I've had file go bad and I've lost a week or so based on my own poor saving habits. i'd like something that would back up my work files nightly so the next time I get slapped in the face by reality I'm not completely screwed. I've done a little research myself and I'm just curious to see what you guys are using.

  • What's a good OS for a media center PC?

I'm planning on taking one of my old PC's and overhauling it so I can use it as a media center PC that I can hook up to my TV. I was wondering what type of operating system I should use. I know they had Windows XP Media Center Addition, and Vista has the same (or similar) gadgets built in to it. I was wondering if there was anything else out there that might be more efficient. Also, if there's an OS/program combination that works well I’m interested in that option too... I'm just looking for suggestions. Thanks.
