Questions and advice about moving to Kadena AB?
DH is active airforce, we've been married for a total of 4 months and have just been told we would be locating to Kadena Air Base, Okinawa in May 2011. This will be the first move either of us have moved, especially to an overseas station. My biggest concern is mainly about the pets, we have 1 dog and 3 cats. I am totally excited because I always wanted to visit Japan, but completely nervous as well since this is a big ordeal.
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions of stuff I need to be doing? Websites that might help me out??? Is there someone I/we could talk to on base that could help point is in the right direction as to things we should/need to be doing???

5 AnswersJapan1 decade agoMoving to Kadena AB with pets?
DH has just received orders that we will be relocating to Kadena Air Base this coming May. Has anyone taken pets? We currently have 1 dog and 3 cats, I'd read somewhere that there might be a pet limit to two pets??? Is this correct?????
3 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoDifference between weight loss and aerobic treadmill settings?
It might be a stupid question, but i just got a new treadmill and was curious what the technical difference between weight loss, aerobic, and performance workout settings?
Mainly I got the treadmill to run on during winter months but was curious and wanted to start exploring some of the pre-programed workouts to keep my daily workouts interesting. So what is the technical difference between the three???
12 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoMedifast meals/shakes preparation?
This question is for those people who have used the Medifast diet. I'm about to set up my first order and am trying to figure out what to order. My biggest question is about preparing the shakes, chili, and soups. Since I will be at work when I am having the shakes, chili or soup I want to make sure it is something I can prepare at work, or prepare ahead of time and stick in the fridge.
If you are here to lecture me on a healthy diet...go away. I'm getting married in a little over a month, I already eat a healthy diet, I run 15-20 miles a week. I've hit a plateau and I want to lose an additional 13lbs before the wedding.
Do NOT try to advertise or sell me on another diet, or weight loss pills. I will report you for abuse on both.
2 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agomeeting his parents for the first time....?
Ok, so a little history first. We've been dating for close to a year. I'm 27 and he's 8 months younger than me [26]. I work full time, train in k9 search and rescue, and attend college full time; he is currently in the military. He's met my family, they get along great, now it's closing in on time for me to meet his parents [will happen within the next year]. I've already talked to his parents multiple times on the phone [speakerphone] and we seem to get along great. They're easy to talk to, inquisitive about me and [according to him] love the fact I ask questions about their lives.
Now the problems I'm facing...
1. We'd be going for 2 weeks [they live in AK and we live in AR].
2. I'm a college student about to finish up my bachelor's program which means I CAN'T take 2 weeks off from school while on the trip - Is it TOO rude to bring my school stuff along on the trip [all of my courses are online]? They know I'm in school, so would it be entirely rude if a few hours a day I "ignore" everyone to do school work?
3. We'll be flying there, I'm told it'll be about a 6-7 hour flight [with at least one if not 2 layovers-once again they live in Alaska and we live in AR]. I KNOW my bf will be wearing jeans, an old t-shirt and [depending on time of year] probably a hoodie. Since they would be picking us up from the airport, I want to look "nice" coming off the plane but still have been comfortable for the flights and the relay races through the various airports to make flights. I was at first thinking a casual skirt and nice shirt [aka plain black t-shirt] but I have a tendency to freeze while on planes, so would blue jeans be okay? And if so, what would be the best type of shirt to wear since I plan to be wearing comfy shoes during the trip. I've seen pics of his parents and they're pretty casual [aka blue jeans-not sure on shirts since they always are in jackets/coats] so I don't want to be TOO overdressed, but I don't want them thinking -what the h*ll either.
So I would GREATLY appreciate any and all advice from parents as to whether or not you'd be insulted if your son/daughter's college student bf/gf did homework while visiting? [No I don't plan to spend the whole time studying, just an hour or two a day]

5 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoFor all the runners....horse flies?
So I just moved out to the country. Been running for maybe 2 months. Long enough to officially get hooked. 67 degrees, nice quiet country road I'm thinking PERFECT!!! Running a long, settling into my pace...next thing I know I've got a minihelicopter [horsefly] flying around my head. And then ZAP! watch that baby take a bite. So much for a nice country run!!!
Is there ANYTHING I can use to protect me from horseflies?!?!?! Surely someone else has to deal with this problem every summer and I REALLY don't want to give up running. I don't have a gym close enough by that I can go run on a treadmill in the morning before getting ready for work. And I REALLY don't want to continuously be sprinting and come to hate and loathe my healthy habit.
1 AnswerRunning1 decade agoWhere do you buy your Clen?
First off I don't need anyone on a soap box, I don't need someone lecturing me as to what's healthy and what's not. Or telling me what I don't need to be putting into my body.
With that said, this is to all the people who have bought Clen sucessfully.
I would like to know WHERE you bought it.
How long it took for you to receive it.
And whether or not you think you got legit Clen.
And please PLEASE don't tell me to go to the growthshop.com.
Been there, done that...and still waiting.
4 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoOrovo, phentermine, lipovox, akavar...do any of them work?????
First off I don't need anyone on a soap box, I don't need someone lecturing me as to what's healthy and what's not. Or telling me what I don't need to be putting into my body.
With that said, this is to all the people who have struggled to loose weight. I've done low cal, I've done atkins, and currently on the South Beach diet. I do AT LEAST 30 minutes of cardio a day.
I have already lost 35 pounds but am struggling to lose the last 25. I HAVE NOT gained any of the original 35 back. But I've hit the plateau and scale isn't budging. I don't drink cokes or sodas, I don't eat junk food, my carb intake is low. For the most part I eat healthy - fruits, vegetables, allowing myself only 1 day of 'privalege' where I can eat something I want IN MODERATION. I do not binge, half the time I can't and don't finish a meal.
So I am asking, for all of those who have tried the pills to let me know what has and has not worked for you. How much you lost and how quickly you saw results.

1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoLITTLE ROCK, AR GALS!!! - Looking for AWESOME hair salon/stylist?
After being gone for a little over a year for a job internship I will be returning to Little Rock/ North Little Rock area. The woman who had been doing my hair has officially retired so I am in search of a new stylist.
I plan to be getting highlights and low lights put in my naturally auburn hair and don't have a clue who to go to and who to stay away from.
So I want to hear it all!!! Best experiences and horror stories a like. Stylist that you would never have touch your hair again and ones you loved to death and will NEVER go to any one else since them.
Because I am a natural tomboy who has NO idea what she needs/ what would look best/ or even how the process goes and who works in a governmental position; I need a stylist that is willing to work with me to find that PERFECT hair style, highlights and lowlights.

3 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoTranslation english to japanese, preferably Kanji?
I have a saying I am wanting to get tattooed, unfortunately I'm not willing to just use a free computerized translation for fear of not getting the correct translation. Does anyone know of a place or merely someone who is willing to translate the quote for free? I know that's asking a lot but money is tight.
"Close your heart to every love, but hold in your arms noone but me."
According to two sites the translation is :
あなたの中心をあらゆる愛に閉めなさい、しかしあなたの腕で誰も握りなさい
3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoFor the girls - hair wrap appropriate for work???
I'm 23, work in a governmental agency. The longest layer of my hair reaches just past my shoulders and is razor cut layers. So it's technically too short to put in a pony tail, I'm not big on headbands themselves but was thinking about a "head wrap" [?] Like a head scarf only WITHOUT the extra fabric???
Are these appropriate for the workplace? Especially one as business like as a governmental office?
And lastly, any suggestions on where to pick up one appropriate for the office envirnoment? All the places I have checked out seem to have more of the punk/goth looks which I might be fine with away from the office, but I know for a fact skulls and crossbones ARE NOT going to fly.
5 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoneed a guys opinion....WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
I've been seeing/dating this particular guy since May, our relationship is more...serious than when I dated other guys. I'm not going to get into exactly how serious we have gotten into the relationship, cause c'mon being raised around guys, I KNOW ya'll can figure that one out. Neither of us said those "three little words" until we'd been going out for 2 months. But due to jobs we have been seperated since mid August. He's military-think bootcamp [so it's not really like he GETS to have a life at the moment], and I just got hired with a new company that has me training until mid Dec. So we are a couple of time zones away, so with work/training schedules and the time difference, phone calls aren't happening. We email constantly to stay in touch. But last night he asked me if I would consider a 3-sum with two other guys. At first I just thought he was joking, ya know being creative for activities that followed. But after those activities, he ask me if I would atleast think about it.
6 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoAny Courtyard or Marriott employees out there? I'd love to know....?
Does anybody know what mattress Courtyard Hotel by Marriott uses?
After spending close to a week on a business trip with a few of the office top dogs, I am absolutely and completed addicted to the mattress that was at the Courtyard to the point I am more than ready to replace my current mattress. Only problem is, is I don't know what brand/make mattress they use, so don't have a clue as to what I should be looking for when I get the money to go shopping.
