  • Glacier tours near Anchorage?

I'm going to Anchorage for work at the end of the month and only have a couple of days to sightsee. I really, really want to do a glacier tour, but they are all a 2+ hours away. Is there anything closer to Anchorage or is it worth the long drive to and from? Any suggestions to make my 2 days worth it are greatly appreciated!

  • My puppy goes crazy in his kennel?

We have an 8 week old german shepherd puppy. We've had him for almost a week and he does absolutely fantastic at night. He doesn't whine anymore and we're even having to coax him out of his kennel at night to go potty. However, when it comes to having to run errands or go to work, he goes absolutely berserk, even though he's never been in the kennel for more than 3 hours at a time. We tire him out as much as we can before, leave the radio on, and put toys and stuff to chew on in the kennel, but he still cries and barks like crazy. When we get home after 2-3 hours his kennel is upside down and usually a few feet away from where we left him. I feel absolutely horrible and guilty about this. Is this normal puppy behavior? Will he grow out of this????

  • What to know before getting a German Shepherd?

My fiancé and I are seriously considering adopting a 7 week old purebred German Shepherd. He's all for it, however, I am still very hesitant about it. I grew up with cats so I know nothing about dogs. He had a small dog when he was a young child, but never got another dog after that one passed. I've been doing a lot of research online and I know it's going to be a LOT of work and a big lifestyle change. I know they require a lot of training and I'm still looking into that for my area. My two biggest concerns are 1) How are German Shepherds with children/babies?? He has a 3 1/2 year old son from a previous relationship and we are also planning to start having children after we get married next fall and 2) How do you keep your house from smelling like dog? Our house is on the smaller side (we plan on moving to a bigger one in the next year or two) and I REALLY don't want a house that smells like dog. We have brand new carpet and furniture. I want to be able to walk in to my house and not be able to tell a big dog lives there.

    Other questions I have:

~ the puppy is only 7 weeks old and we live in northern WI. When could we start walking the dog regularly? The temperature this time of year is around the mid 20s and come late December thru all of February we'll be lucky to get up to 20 degrees, not to mention feet upon feet of snow....

~ how often to bathe a German Shepherd?

~ what kind of dog food?

    ~ ???

ANYTHING you could tell me would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated!!!

  • What color shoes can I wear with a white and black dress?

I'm going to a wedding next weekend and I'm wearing a white and black dress. I wanted to wear some fun colorful shoes but my boyfriend said that would look stupid because only black shoes would match. Now I'm doubting the colorful shoes idea. What can I wear?!

  • Are these new BB Creams lotion or foundation?

I understand that they even out skin tone and hydrate skin, but do they require other makeup to "set" it? I use foundation everyday and pressed powder to set it so just curious what this stuff is and if I should switch. I have REALLY bad skin tone and acne scars. Does this stuff really work?

  • Has anybody been to 68W M6 school recently?

I've been in the Guard 6 years and I'm a 68W. Since my initial contract is up I have a lot of options. The Reserves recently contacted me and offered to send me to M6 school. I know it is very long so this is a decision that's not going to be easy. I know what the actual school is all about (LPN) but I'm curious as to the experience. Do you get weekends off? What kind of leave time do you get to go home for holidays (i.e. - Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas)? Is the training transferrable to the civilian side? I don't want to leave for a year and not be able to get a civilian job as an LPN. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

  • Help!! Where can I find tall scrubs?

I'm starting nursing school soon and I can't find tall scrubs anywhere. I'm 6 feet tall and normally have a 37" inseam. Obviously I don't want scrubs that are that long because they will drag on the floor, but the only "tall" scrubs that I'm finding only have 32" inseams and that's nowhere near long enough. Where can I find tall scrubs??

  • Bell curve statistics?

I'm lost on how to do this :( Help!

AAA reports that the average time it takes to respond to an emergency call is 25 minutes. Assume the variable is approximately normally distributed and the standard deviation is 4.5 minutes. If 2500 calls are randomly selected, approximately how many will be responded to in more than 32 minutes?

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

  • Standard deviation help!?

I don't understand standard deviation. A little help with this question??

Scores for a civil service exam are normally distributed with a mean of 75 and a standard deviation of 6.5. To be eligible for civil service jobs, you must score in the top 10%. What is the lowest score you can earn and still be eligible for a civil service job?

  • Nook or Kindle for school?

thinking about getting one for school. heard textbooks are cheaper on these instead of in a normal bookstore. opinions or advice on which one to get?? thanks!

  • Nook or Kindle for school?

I heard that textbooks are considerably cheaper if purchased on a Nook or Kindle. Is this true? I'm in school to be a paralegal and our books are not cheap. A teacher said that his kid bought his books on a kindle for only a third of the price in a normal bookstore. Just wondering if this is true or not. Also, which is better - the Nook or Kindle? Never really wanted one of these things until I heard about the possibility of saving a lot of money on textbooks. Opinions greatly appreciated!
