Is a catahoula leopard dog right for me?
My sister in law just had pure bread puppies and I think I would like one, particularly a female.
We live in the San Francisco bay area with a large fenced in yard. We take our current dog on walks daily, hikes on weekends, and day care once a week where he plays with other dogs. I wouldn t mind getting involved with dog sports if the current activities we do are not enough. We also crate our dog during the day.
Our current dog is a two year old 60 lb male pit mix who is confident and friendly with all other dogs. He isn t really an alpha dog, but he doesn t let others boss him around at the dog park. He is very smart and has all the energy in the world.
Neither of us have herding dog experience so that is something we are weary of, but dealing with a large, energetic, and intelligent dog is something we can handle.
Any thoughts of how one would fit into our lifestyle or what we would need to change to have a happy catahoulas?
7 AnswersDogs3 years agoThe manager at a place I am applying for a job at is trying to get friendly with me, what do I do?
I worked at a Gamestop in my old town, and now that I have settled into my new college I want to work at the one here in town. I had gone in a few times and had been polite and talkative, I told the manager I was interested in a job and he gave me an app to fill out. We got into a conversation about a game but I had to leave, so he asked for my fb so we could continue to conversation.
We got to talking and he started asking personal questions about myself, any siblings, family, etc. He then asked if I wanted to "hang out" with him. I told him I would rather keep a professional level between myself and a potential employer. He seemed alright with it, and told me he was ok being friends, and if something were to happen then let it happen.
I have not responded yet. I am fuming right now because I am not sleezy, I have a boyfriend, and acting professional and platonic with everyone I meet is important to me. I would like to work there again because I enjoyed it before, but I am not willing to go against my morals, and there are plenty of other jobs out there. What do I do? .
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment8 years agoWhat is the Christian View on Losing Your Virginity Before Marriage?
(the religion board seems to be filled with trolls, so I figured it would be better to ask here)
A friend and I had a debate on whether or not having sex before marriage is a sin. Some of the questions from either side of the argument were:
- Is it adultery to have premarital sex? (Even if you marry them)
- Are their any other specific definitions of adultery? (excluding having same-gender/ sex with one you are not married to)
- Is it sinning to have sex with more then one partner before marriage?
- Supposedly the 10 commandments were set in place with the knowledge that they would be broken. Does this give us a pass to do what we please as long as we truly ask for forgiveness?
What is your take of this? Is their a website or passage in the Bible we can look at? Any opinions and input would be much appreciated.

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhat anime's are these?
Years ago I saw this anime show on TV where the main characters could control paper, I think it was. I believe their were three girls who did that. The rest is really foggy, I think they were like assassins o.o
The other, all I can remember that they were like chess pieces, or named after them. The show was either on Adult Swim, or the thing before that on cartoon network.
Not a lot of details, sorry.
6 AnswersComics & Animation9 years agoWhat do you think, Pregnant or sick?
I have had two tetras for about a year now. They used to chase each other around doing what I assumed was making a 'pecking order' or something and that they were the same gender. About a week ago one of the tetra's stomach began to grow suddenly and turn white. I assumed she was pregnant. I did a but of research but was coming up with a lot of people saying it was sick. What should I believe?
If she is sick, do I get meds?
If she is prego, what is the procedure for saving the babies? Is it similar to guppies?
4 AnswersFish9 years agoWhat are the rules from shipping a gun on a plane?
I am moving across county (Nevada to Pennsylvania) and want to bring my trap gun with me. (a 391 barretta)
I know that my gun must go into a secure case that locks and that I must 'declare' the gun when I first get to the airport.
Here is what I don't know:
A) I have a wooden case that fits the gun and locks. Is there a chance that will be denied? Or if it is accepted is there a strong chance it will be damaged? (the case is somewhat valuable, and very special to me) I also have a plastic case but part of the wooden stock will not fit, so that would have to go in my suit case or something.
B) when I declare the gun, how long does it usually take for them to decide it is safe? Should I call a few days a head of time or something?
C) anything else I should know?
Thank you in advanced :)
3 AnswersAir Travel9 years agoHow do I say yes to going out, but no to anything more?
I have sort of known this guy for a year or two now. We went to the same high school, but being a few grades lower then him, never spoke. Then we 'met' through a mutual friend through the Play Ptation 3. We met up one time to go shoot some hoops, but that was really the end of that.
Well yesterday I got :
"I was thinking maybe sometime we could go out and grab dinner or a movie sometime this weekend or next week if thats alright with you?"
through my facebook messages. I do not mind going out with him as friends, but nothing more. My problem is I have been accused of being a flirt. I feel as if I am just being friendly. I do not want to lead him on.
My question is, how do I tell him up front I am not looking for a relationship, while accepting his offer to go out?

6 AnswersVideo & Online Games9 years agoKids Dealing with Death?
I have been a teen leader for a local 4h group for a few years now. This past Monday one of our instructors scummed to cancer, no one knows yet, not even the other instructors. The only reason I know is because I am good friends with the man's nephew.
My question is, what is the best way to tell children this? The ages rest between 13-18, mostly boys. Tonight is the meeting, so I am a bit confused on what to do.
I am also afraid I might not be able to talk without becoming to emotional, any advice?
2 AnswersPsychology9 years agoIs this a fair price?
I paint snowboards for fun and they will be shown in a gallery next month. I have never sold artwork before and the gallery has already decided on a set price.
But now I have recieved a few commision requests to paint other boards and I do not know what to charge. I've heard $10 an hour + materials, but I feel that is too much since I am a new artist.
Any sugestions?
4 AnswersPainting9 years agoFish tank heater is not rising as much as it should?
A few months ago I set up a small 5-7 gallon tank for some baby guppies to survive in until they grew. (I have no idea what the actual size is) Before they were born I bought a new small heater for it. While they were in their it was at about 78-80 degrees at all times. I took down the tank after they were big enough to go into the main tank.
Now I have a balloon molly about to give birth and I want to set it up again. They problem is that it is not warming up as much as it used to. (to about 68 degrees) This is warmer then the house temperature so I know it is working just a bit, but why is it not working all the way? I understand heaters get old and break, but this one has been used for about a total of one-two months.
I would run out and get a new one now if I had the money, town was a bit closer, and all the Christmas shoppers were gone. o.o I fear that the babies will be born within the next few days and this tank will not be ready. What can I do?
BTW at the moment I am seeing if the heater can heat up a smaller portion of water, about half of the small tank.
2 AnswersFish9 years agoWhat is the best way to transfer goldfish indoors?
My pond was raided by a heron and I thought all my fish were eaten. Lately I've spotted a few alive ones. (About 4 big ones and maybe 3 babies from the summer) I've caught three big ones and a small one and have brought them inside to a ten gallon tank (I know is to small) and plan to move them to my 30 gallon tank for the rest of the winter, then come spring get a net or something to keep the darn birds out and put them back in the pond.
First question, is 30 gallons enough space? (if not should I leave two in the ten gallon?)
The 30 tank is heated for my guppies, mollies, etc to 74 degrees. (That is the high temp for gold fish and low temp for guppies according to petsmart, and I plan to move the smaller guppies to a 5 gallon tank)
Second question: I have a feeling if I move the goldfish over to fast it will kill them. How do I move them? Just put them in a bag and let it sit for 20-30 mins? They are currently at about 50-55 degrees.
Any advice would be great, thanks :)
1 AnswerFish9 years agoDid I just kill all my fish?
I forgot I had acrylic paint and spray paint on my hands until after I plunged my hands into my tanks to retrieve a baby fish that had escaped the birthing net. There was residue coming off my hands...
Should I be worried about them? If so, should I try adding conditioner to the water while changing 1/4th of the water?
Blah.
6 AnswersFish9 years agoWhy is this book so expensive? (The Dark Fields)?
The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn, (the movie Limitless is based off of it) It runs for about $200 new and hardcover, while the book based off the movie is only $8.
Just curious why it is hiked up so much because I really wanted the original.
2 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoYou might know what movie this is?
I cought the end part of a movie a long time ago. I remember that the main character was a little boy called Pendragon, maybe heir to a throne? And I believe it was based in the Roman or Greek empire.
There was an older man, a younger woman(who kicked butt) and maybe a younger man as well.
Any ideas?
2 AnswersMovies9 years agoFruit Tetra and skirt tetra?
I bought a fruit tetra a while back without doing research on the breed. I was very disappointed in my self when I found out it was injected with dyes. Well it seemed lonely and I was suggested to give it friends to school with. I bought two skirt tetra in hopes it would, but the two skirts stay together and the fruit won't follow them. Just aimlessly floats around or stays in one spot for a while just staring.
Any suggestions on what to do?
1 AnswerFish9 years agoMy Fancy Goldfish is floating, can't seem to swim down.?
I have had this particular goldfish in a 10 gallon tank with two one inch long goldfish and a very small koi for over a month now. (Yes it has a filter and a bubbler)
Yesterday I got him a companion, a second fancy goldfish, who is doing quite well so far.
Today I came home and noticed that the two smaller goldfish were starting to get small black spots on there fins, so I decided tomorrow when I was done with chores I'd clean the tank. Nearly one hour later after feeding them I looked over to notice the old Fancy Goldfish floating, still very much alive and high spirited, but struggling to go down.
I just changed out a bit of the water with tap water, but have not added any chemicals yet.
What do you suggest I can do to help him?
(Ps. please do not yell at me for over crowding this tank, I realize that. I have had much more goldfish in a smaller tank before with no problems, and that was before I knew how to properly change the water, filter, and such. Once spring comes it will only be the two fancy tails...Thanks for the concern though! :) )
6 AnswersFish10 years agoIs it safe to dye my hair again?
Mid july I went from a dark blonde to a brown hair color. I am definitely in need of a touch-up, but I think I want to dye my whole head since most of the color has faded. Will that kill my hair even more? or should I only touch the roots?
Also, what self-done hair color do you recommend? I refuse to pay near $100 for my long hair :/
Thanks :)
2 AnswersHair10 years agoGoldfish at bottom of tank laying down?
Very recently I got 4 goldfish (the 13 cent ones), a fancy tailed goldfish, and a koi. I put them in a tank with some more tropical fish at 72-4 degrees, and they seemed to be fine. (29 gallon tank) A few days later I noticed that the goldfish and fancy ones' tails were starting to deteriorate, or at least like they were getting bitten off. I have been keeping a close watch on the tank and have seen no aggressive behavior between any of the fish, so I decided they were sick.
I got a hold of some Tetra All in one Lifeguard and began treating them yesterday in a smaller, yet colder tank at about 60 degrees and 10 gallons. This morning I noticed a single fish laying at the bottom of the tank. Now I have most of them at the bottom as well.
Is there a reason for this? I think it is because the water is colder, but I cannot imagine a goldfish being hurt at 60 when I've had the same survive the winters outside in the snow. Is there anything I can do?
Also the tank is newly set up, only a few days old with treated water. I have a bubble maker thing in there for lots of oxygen, but no filter or heater.
