Earlier this school year, I developed a pretty serious crush on this girl. Long story short, my friend couldn’t keep his mouth shut and ended up telling the whole class. After further embarrassment from my friends, I’m pretty sure she thinks I’m either a loser or a complete creep, and I don’t now how to smooth things over.

We are all in with grade, and I am new to the school this year. I recently discovered the girl I like is the same person he likes, and I don’t know what to do. I am not sure I can trust him, so I am hesitant to tell him I like her too.

She’s probably the most serious crush I’ve ever had, which is unfortunate because I feel sick whenever I think about her. When I talk or interact with her, I’m fine, it’s just when I think of her. Any solutions?

He is only in 7th grade and she’s in sixth, so you know it’s not a serious thing (in fact, it’s barely lasted 2 weeks.) I am a grade above them, but not much more experienced. This girl has experienced issues with depression and anxiety, and from what I can piece together, actually attempted suicide at one point. She has expressed to my friend that he has helped her work through many of her problems. My friend just doesn’t feel like he wants to stay with her. I know you would assume that since they’re so young it doesn’t matter, but my friend is seriously concerned she might try to hurt herself. I’ve tried to tell him he’s not responsible for someone else’s happiness, but that’s clearly not enough. Any advice?

The more subtle, the better. I don’t want it to be obvious who I’m talking about.
