  • Tax code section for transfer of property to a corporation?

    Hi, I'm looking for the tax code section which deals with property that isn't a 351 exchange. Basically I'm trying to figure out the tax ramifications of transferring a fully depreciated piece of property to a corporation without any consideration for it (no stock, cash or property). Does the corporation recognize a gain when receiving the property if they pay nothing for it?

  • USPS Delivery Confirmation shows wrong Zip Code?

    I sent an application to a potential employer two weeks ago via Priority Mail w/ DC. I didn't want to have them worry about signing for it, or I would have used certified. I have the receipt and it says the correct Zip Code and city on it. However, I checked DC yesterday, and it said that it was delivered to a Zip Code about 10 miles away in a different part of the city. (Both ZIP codes are in the same large city, and neither are in the outskirts). What should I do? The deadline to receive is the end of the month.

  • CPA experience in CA?

    I know what the requirements are educationally and experience wise (150 units, 24 business, 24 accountancy + 1 year of work experience). However, what I want to know is: does working for a non-profit (directly under a CPA) as an intern or volunteer count towards the California CPA experience requirement? I know that 170 hours part-time = 1 month of full time work for CPA, but does that also account for volunteer hours as well?

    Thanks

  • Biquad Filter Design Question?

    I have a filter that I would like to make; I'm lazy and used the Texas Instruments filter coefficient generator to make me the x-fer function and coefficients. The problem is I need it in floating point instead of fixed. Is fixed to floating point easy as just dividing the output by 32768? If not is there any free floating point biquad calculators that do high shelf?

    Here's the output of the TI calc:

    Text "* Filter 1 Treble Shelf 36 Hz Fc -3.0 dB"

    Text "* H(z) = (N0 + 2*N1/z + N2/(z2)) / (32768 - 2*D1/z - D2/(z2))"

    Text "* Filter Coefficients in format N0, N1, N2, D1, D2"

    Text "* Filter 1"

  • Another question...?

    Define f:Z+ x Z+ -> Z+ as f(n,m) = 7^n x 7^m. Is F one-to-one? Prove or give a counter-example.

    So, this is not one-to-one, and if so is this a legimate counter example: f(2,3) = f(3,2)?

    Thanks.
