Although I took all the course titles that would have fulfilled the a-g requirements, I was just informed that some of the classes that I took weren't UC-Approved. For example, I completed world history, american government, and US history (6 semesters-worth of social sciences even though only 4 are required for a-g) then today, I found out that even though i took those classes, since they weren't approved by the UC, it doesn't count.

do they automatically disqualify you for admission because the a-g requirements aren't met? CSU's as well?

its the "a" requirement and 2 of 8 semesters of english that i'm "missing". also, I have a 3.5 gpa and 1800 SAT score.

please no rude comments, just useful information be it good or bad.

I wouldn't even consider it if i hadn't spent 5 hours per service 4 services per week and a weekly all night prayer that lasted from 8pm to 5am then i would go to school the next day and try to maintain straight A's. I haven't been to that church for a year now but i'm sitting here trying to figure out what to put as extra-curricular activities but i realized that all my time for the past 13 years was dedicated to that church and now i feel like i have nothing to show for.

and no, the church didn't really do things to help people.

if i did say that,will UC's even accept it or will they think i'm BS-ing?

I'm a pretty good classical clarinetist trying to learn to play jazz. I know how to swing and all but when I record myself (especially improvising) my "jazz" still sounds really classical.

So, what characterizes each? What makes classical, classical and jazz, jazz?

the earliest doctors appointment i could get was june 14th, all this stuff happened in late march. if i am, will mid june be too late to get an abortion?

i mean, i have no passion for life. i wouldn't care if i died right now, actually, i think i'd be happy. i dont REALLY want to kill myself but 80% of the time it seems better than being alive.

now, before you tell me that i'm crazy and i should go see a doctor or call a suicide hot-line, let me tell you, i'm not planning to do anything dumb, this is just a question.

anyway, yeah, i just feel like i'm alive because i have to be not because i want to be. I live life trying to please EVERYONE but myself. i'm 16 and i cook dinner about 4-5 times a week, i'm always babysitting my 4 younger siblings, i'm homeschooled so i'm always at home, and i have no social life.

maybe i'm just overreacting but whatever the case might be, i feel really discouraged with life and i wish it was just over already. why do people like living anyway? any ideas how i can improve mine to make it more enjoyable, i guess?

personality-wise

my grandma doesn't believe in healthy eating; she says that it's being on satan's diet because he's corrupted our food or whatever. but really, she's getting up in age and i don't want her to die before her time. she doesn't believe me when i show her scientific proof that certain foods are known to cause cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc. it's all just "satan's fault" and all we can do to help anything is "say our blessing and chow down".

ok like, it's one thing to unhealthy food, but it's another thing to just put fat on top of fat just for the heck of it. but there are very few things that she doesn't smear mayonaise on or drench it in ranch dressing. also, she loves bacon grease; an if pancakes aren't bad enough as is; she has to have them basically deep fried in hot bacon grease. same thing with cornbread and plenty other things. ice cream-has to be high-fat smothered in rich caramel sauce. brownies-have to have some high-fat sourcream, yes, SOUR CREAM, to dip them in. i mean, it's just ridiculous.

and to make matters worse; she lives with us and influences my little brothers and mom to be this way too. like my 8 year old brother eats all day every day and instead of stopping it, my grandma tells him about the starving kids in africa and warns him that god doesn't like us to waste food . . . blah blah blah . . .

we've tried buying lower-fat versions of the foods she likes but she got all offended and made us buy her the real deal. i just don't know what else to do. can you teach an old dog new trick so to speak? i mean, this has been her lifestyle for 70 years and change is detestible right? ugh...

when she walks to the bathroom (6 feet away from her chair) and back, she's really out of breath and it scares me sometimes. i don't want her to die but i don't want to offend her either. should i even bother trying to get her to eat healthy?

my grandma's 70, a breast cancer survivor, and about 300+ pounds

there are 4 little,gullible children in the home, 2 of which are obese already

my mom and dad.... are pretty overweight too

this whole houe needs change come to think of it but it's hard with low income etc etc. but what can i do to help?

it's just always been really hard for me to make friends. I'm a nice person. I'm not the prettiest, but I'm very trustworthy and a great listener and stuff. I'm not too outgoing but i like to have fun. I'm a christian but i respect every one's opinions so why cant i make friends? jee or get a boyfriend for that matter. I'm 16 years old, home schooled, miserable, and lonely. what should i do? how do i get people to like me?

I mean really, it's like people are either atheist or like super-pious, anti-evolutionist Christians.

Why can't there be creation and evolution? After all, God's time is not our time so 6 days could have just been 6 time periods.

ok so i'm like christian and stuff and i really love God and i want him to do something for me. i prayed and all but what used to work best for me when i was a kid seems a bit wrong now. i used to make "if... then..." deals with God like "if you 'bless' me with a new baby doll then i'll give a hobo a sandwich" or other random things like that. sounds stupider and stupider the more i type lol but wanna know if it's wrong to make the following deal: "if you don't give me a boyfriend by the end of november, I'll be a lesbian instead" or something.

i know homosexuality is against the bible but that's not what i'm asking. is it wrong to make these deals?

I honestly dont know how to have fun. I'm a total loner and have been for most of my life. i mean, i know a lot of people but i don't have any real "friends". i've never been to a school dance, party, and i've only gone to the movies with someone other than my family 2 times. I'm 16 and i guess i just want to stop existing and start living now. how should i go about this?

or it doesn't have to be a uc, it can be any good college with a good marching band
