  • Why am i so scared of spiders?

I have had severe arachnophobia all my life. I just spent 45 minutes spraying down my bedroom after a spider fell down behind my bed. I'm more afraid of being in the same room as a spider than I would be of facing a grizzly bear or a tiger with a spear. Why?

  • Nerve problems?

About one year ago I noticed that a patch of skin on the inner side of my right big toe was completely numb. No pain, just numbness, and it doesn't interfere with the movement of that toe whatsoever. It's been that way ever since, the numb patch has not expanded. Around the same time I began having sciatic pain, i.e shooting pain in my lower back and down my right leg, but it was only occasional and has since stopped entirely. More recently, I've been experiencing pain in my upper back. It only happens when I'm sitting up without anything to rest my back against--in one small spot just to the right of my left shoulder blade, I get a sort of burning/pinching pain, and when I reach my hand back to touch that spot, it's totally numb. But when I stand up or rest my back against something, the pain disappears instantly and sensation returns. Also, when I lie on my left side at night, I get a strong pins and needles sensation on the outer side of my left thigh, and that area of skin goes numb. I would like to know if there is a particular condition which could account for all these symptoms.

  • Spider man 2 plot hole?

So the point of Doc oc's fusion reactor is to provide clean and renewable energy to NYC, right? And in the process he hopes to win a nobel prize. So when the first reactor fails, and he becomes a supervillian, what is his ultimate goal in building the second one? Does he expect to be awarded the nobel prize, having killed dozens of people at least and causing billions of dollars worth of damage?

  • Medical Advice Please?

About an hour ago I went flying over the handlebars of my bicycle and smashed my chin on pavement. Examining the wound in the mirror, it looks as though some skin was actually removed from my face upon impact. The bleeding has mostly stopped. I cleaned the wound with cotton balls soaked in antiseptic solution (dettol and water) and covered the wound entirely with band-aids. 1.) Did I perform first aid satisfactorily? 2.) I don't care too much about scarring, but will the gaping hole in my chin eventually fill in? Thanks to anyone who bothers to answer!

  • How to put Audacity onto a flash drive?

I wish to put the Audacity program onto a flash drive. Not a project, but the program itself, so that I can bring the flash drive to a computer that does not have the program and install it.

  • Explain to me the numbers in aboriginal tribe names?

For example, the British Columbian tribe Squamish is spelt "Sḵwx̱wú7mesh". How is a seven pronounced? Please enlighten me. Last time I checked, the Roman alphabet and Arabic number system were brought to North America by European settlers, and yet apparently the word was ANGLICIZED as "Squamish". I'm not racist, but it pisses me off that aboriginals seem to be allowed to spell their tribal names with random bullshit and expect people to accept that.

  • Hey, Atheists, I've got a question?

How do you explain emotional reactions to music? Why do we find beauty in certain melodies, and despise others? Chemical reactions? Sure, but why to sounds and tunes with these certain characteristics?

  • Trying to fix my sleeping patterns?

School starts in 3 days and I'm trying to get my beauty sleep regulated before then. I've been staying up until 5 or 6 in the morning for a good deal of the summer. I'm wondering, if I simply stay up through the entire day (meaning no sleep for 24 hours straight) and then hit the sack at nine tonight, will I wake up at a reasonable hour tomorrow? Or will I sleep through the entire next day?

  • Is a wolf-dog hybrid legal?

So I have this cousin up in the Yukon who owns this golden retriever b*tch. One day she got away and came back a few days later, pregnant. When he took one of the pups to the vet, the vet said they were sired by a grey wolf. Now he wants to get rid of the pups because he's afraid that with their wolf genes and all they'll attack his little baby when they get older. So I was thinking of taking a couple of them off his hands, but I was wondering if it was legal in British Columbia to own a half-wolf?

  • Fewer popular rock bands nowadays?

Why is it that we have so few popular rock bands nowadays, as compared to the 70s? I mean, in '76, you had zeppelin, aerosmith, boston, zz top, AC/DC, black sabbath, Rush, Steve Miller, The Who, pink floyd, the eagles, Queen, as well as many punk bands, etc. Nowadays you've got your Nickelback, Green Day, Kings of Leon, White stripes, in addition to a few prissy boy bands like the Jonas brothers. Do you contribute it to the waning popularity of rock n' roll? What's your take on it?
