  • Jehovah's Witnesses, How is this insulting?

I posted the following text to a question about the composition of the governing body. The text comes directly from Watchtower Publications. I received a TOS Violation notice stating the answer was insulting. How is quoting from Watchtower Publications Insulting?

As to give you a context before you answer I've pasted the original question and the Watchtower Quotes I included.

    Original Question

Question: 95% of Annointed ones in Governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses are Americans??? Is God playing Favorites?

I present the following to indicate that according to WT Publications, God is playing favorites

" ...the curse which Noah pronounced upon Canaan was the origin of the black race. Certain it is that when Noah said, "Cursed be Canaan, a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren," he pictured the future of the Colored race. They have been and are a race of servants, but now in the dawn of the twentieth century, we are all coming to see this matter of service in its true light and to find that the only real joy in life is in serving others; not bossing them. There is no servant in the world as good as a good Colored servant, and the joy that he gets from rendering faithful service is one of the purest joys there is in the world" (The Golden Age, July 24, 1929: 702).

"A little while, and the Millennial kingdom will be inaugurated, which will bring restitution to all mankind--restitution to the perfection of mind and body, feature and color, to the grand original standard, which God declared "very good," and which was lost for a time through sin, but which is soon to be restored by the powerful kingdom of the Messiah" (Watchtower, April 1, 1914:110).

"Can The Ethiopian Change His skin color?" No. But... what the Ethiopian cannot do for himself God could readily do for him. The difference between the races of men... have long been arguments against the solidarity of the human family. The doctrine of restitution has also raised the question. How could all men be brought to perfection and which color of skin was the original? The answer is now provided. God can change the Ethiopian's skin in his own due time... Julius Jackson, of New Frankfort, Montana, a ***** boy of nine years, began to grow white in September, 1901, and is now fully nine-tenths white. He assures us that this is no whitish skin disease; but that the new white skin is as healthy as that of any white boy, and that the changed boy has never been sick and never has taken medicines "(Zion's Watch Tower, February 15, 1904: 52-53).

So again, how is quoting your own material insulting?

  • Are you ok with Polygamy too?

For those that think same sex marriage is a good idea, will you also support the "rights" of polygamists to marry more than one spouse at a time? There is at least a biblical and cultural history of polygamy. Is there a spiritual reason for same sex marriage?

  • Is this correct, question about debt.?

My wife is from the Czech Republic. She was raised by her grandmother and doesn't really have a relationship with her mom. Her mom ran up a ton of debts, failed to pay rent at an apartment, didn't pay her electric and gas, and some other debts that come up to almost 30K. The companies she owes the money to now expect my wife to pay for her mother's debts and apparently that's legal in Czech. Does this seem right?

Is that how we are to read President Obama's decisions banning water boarding but encouraging abortion? That's how I read it. Your opinion?

  • I'm having a touch pad mouse issue?

Just bought a HP laptop a few months back. The PS/2 Port Touchpad is no longer working, I had to install an external mouse. For a while the entire keyboard was frozen, I had to do a hard restart to get the keyboard back.

Went into the device manager and looked at it, I have the yellow triangle. It gives the following message:

This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)

It won't let me update the driver.

I even got desperate and tried a restore point (the restore failed, another issue). Any suggestions on how to fix the mouse?

  • Is this correct? Solve algebraically log_4(x+41)- log_4(2x+7)=3?

    log_4 is read log base4.

    Here's how I worked it:

    log_4 (4+41) / (2x+7)=3

    x+41 / 2x+7 = 64

    x+41 = 128x +448

    -127x = 407

    x= (-)407 / 127 (that's x = negative 407 over 127

Is this correct? If not, where did I ere.
