Fiasco de Bacle

I get a can't connect to DHCP sever error. I released and renewed my ipconfig thing.

I have a Motorola SB4200 cable modem that had a 4 port router hooked up to it. I accidentally reconnected the power from my 15 volt scanner to the 10 volt router....POP! Out goes a capacitor...

How can I tell if the reason I can't connect is because I fried the ethernet card or whatever inside my computer? The cable works on my other computer and the modem is okay. The messed up computer is an HP DC7600. Are there some settings I can mess with or did I destroy some hardware?

I have a 2007 Hyundai Accent and I hit a curb while turning in the snow somewhere between 15 and 20mph and now the steering wheel does not always line up with the direction of the wheels. Also does anyone have any idea how much this might cost to repair?
