The answer to most relationship questions is commnication. If you are incapable of talking to that person, then you have no business being in a relationship with them.
Is a yeast cell the same as an ascus?
My instructor is asking me to draw and label the parts of a budding yeast cell, being sure to include the ascus and ascospores. I've checked my text, supplemental resources provided by the instructor, and searched diagrams on google. Unless the ascus is the yeast cell (which would make sense given it is an ascomycete), I see nothing to indicate that an ascus is part of a budding yeast cell.
Is the ascus the same thing as a yeast cell or is it inside of a yeast cell?

My question: What is the difference between waterproof and water tight?
My father and I have this argument because he bought me a pair of waterproof boots and they got stained by a light sprinkling of water (I am OCD and though I appreciate the gift, they are also too big).
The argument: I say that when a garment (like nubuck boots) is properly waterproofed (by the manufacturer or otherwise) the water will not penetrate the material and cause a stain.
He says that waterproof simply meant that the boots are designed so that water does not get into them. I think he is confused and thinking about watertight boots not waterproof.
I remember reading about this somewhere before, but have tried Google and it does not return any results but how to waterproof things.
My question: what is the difference between waterproof and water tight?
If possible, please include a source I can return to later.
