  • Trans Boys: My school day is eight hours, and I have activities after dinner, I need advice on binding?

Okay so including the bus ride, my school day is about eight hours, and I know not to bind for more than eight hours, but I have to go back out in public (about three-four hours after I get home) most nights, so I am concerned that its not safe to bind. I cant really go out in public without my binder though. So, my question is, is it safe for me to put my binder back on after an eight hour school day if I leave it off for three or four hours in between?

  • if a little girl is bossy, what are some things she does?

Specifically, a little girl. What is 'bossy' behaviour for a young girl?

Don't lecture me, I just want ideas of bossy behaviour.

  • Do vampires have blood preference?

If I get anyone saying "vampire aren't real omfg ur stupid!1!!!1" or "vampires don't drink animals god damn twilight" I will go off a cliff. No, I'm not a twilight fan, and yes, I have tried just googling it.

I am writing a world in which all kinds of different creatures are real. Mages, sirens, vaekra, vampires, skinwalkers, sorcerers, fairies, faeries, encantados. If in lore vampires always prefer a specific creatures blood, I don't want to say sorcerer blood when they prefer creeper blood. Does this make sense?

Yeah so, do vampires prefer specific blood?

  • Brick and mortar stores that sell tight lacing corsets?

I've run out of options. The only time I can lose weight is when I hate myself, and it still doesn't get rid of my belly. The biggest problem is my BMI is around 19, so noting but my stomach looks super fat. I really want to try waist training, but I don't want to order one offline, so does anyone know of any brick and mortar stores that sell tight lacing corsets?

I'm not going for anything jurassically different, I know all of the health risks, and I know its a hella commitment, but I still want to at least try.

  • Teenage guys?

Okay. I'm in a debate with my friend over whether guys don't date girls who dress slutty. Im trying to explain to her that its not whether you dress slutty, its how you dress slutty. I like my body; I like wearing dresses and lace, and high necklines make me feel suffocated. So, whats your input? Do guys 'dislike' girls who show a little skin?

  • Why are kids and teenagers expected to act like adults if we're not going to be treated like adults?

I'm expected to everyday sit down and shut up from before sunrise to just before sunset while being lectured on six different things. I take notes and study and learn all day, and I am then expected to come home and practice what I've learned for six more hours. Sleeping is not a priority. Screwing up is not an option. You miss something or turn it in late, and you are patronized by teachers and parents for having a priority other than what you missed. I'm only fourteen and I've been doing this for years. They say that high school is the best four years of your life and if that is the case, kill me now. The decisions I make now will affect me for the rest of my life, follow me into the "real world" as it were. Childish is considered an insult. From the time were little kids, were expected to behave, act older. People complain about babies crying on planes; newsflash: they're freaking babies. People don't like working with toddlers and elementary schoolers because they're loud and obnoxious and sometimes they have to be told what to do a few times before they do it.

Why, then, are we treated like we don't know anything? My english teacher said that once we graduated, we magically crossed this thresh hold and suddenly, "people were going to start expecting things of us." People expect a lot of me. I'm expected to get a 36 on the ACT. I'm expected to be a board scholar. I've been taking college courses since I was twelve. Yet, when I try to give input on things that matter like education reforms in places like the south Bronx and the problems with the healthcare system in America, I'm responded to with "You'll understand when you're older" and "Your views will change as you mature" and stuff, but if play with sidewalk chalk and read YA lit, I'm somehow immature and stupid and it is unacceptable when either way, I am going to be patronized and condescended like I don't understand anything.

People complain about how teens these days just think they are so misunderstood, but really they are so misunderstood. Younger kids do have a small "They're Just Kids" buffer, but teenagers are expected to be so very adult and are treated like they're stupid kids. Anyone know why? I genuinely think it a source of issue.

Don't get me wrong, I adore my privilege of school and home and stuff, but you know.

I swear to god, if the answers are condescending I am going to explode the earth.

  • Does of get easier to eat?

So I got my lip pierced yesterday and whenever I try to eat or chew it gets caught on my teeth. It doesn't hurt at all, but I don't want to **** up the piercing and stuff. As it heals, does it stop doing that? Plus, the rod (stud, pole, jewlery, whatever its called) is longer to acconadate for swelling. Are the shorter ones and rings any better?

  • Is it too late to be sucussful?

I am a freshman in high school. I have aspired to be in a band for as long as I can remember, and I know the complete unlikeliness of this dream. I am a 3.6, AP student. I, sadly, have a backup plan, however I believe in quality of life rather than safe economic decisions. It is something to latch on to in the never-ending winter, something I tell myself I'll do and it makes me happy. I do not need to be told how far fetched, how impossible my life goals are. We are a generation told not to try to hard. The millennial, the participation ribbon generation.

I wanted to be a singer for long elementary years, but girl fronted bands are overrated, I'm not a unique singer, and quite frankly I don't really want to be a singer. My parents refused to put me in drums or guitar lessons growing up, but I can read notes well, I have an excellent sense of rhythm and beat, I can play a simple chord, and I am incredibly hard headed. I don't give up. I pick things up fast, I learn quickly. I don't doubt my ability to learn an instrument. The ultimate question is; if I started guitar or drums now, do you think I would be able to be a good enough player to be successful in a band? Or is now to late to start?

  • My "bestfriend" copies everything I do. What do I do?

My friend copies everything I do, actually everything. I got a sidecut in march and all she talked about that day was how her grandma could sidecut her hair. I talked her out of that one, thank god, but she recently started parted her hair really far over so it kinda looks like she has a sidecut. Also, I came back from Warped Tour with SWS shorts and stories, and that day she bought a SWS shirt, literally a week before she said she didnt know much by them. I like BVB, and guess what shes suddenly a huge fan of. I quit liking BOTDF a long time ago, but as soon as I told her she stoped too. I love PTV and my other friend and I were talking about it and as we talked she downloaded a bunch of PTV. Off the same music downloader I use, which she originally said was terrible. I will say something and a day later shell start saying the exact same thing, even if she doesnt know what it means. And probably the worst is that I told her that I cut myself, which I tried like twice then I stopped, and then she started to cut herself after I told her how bad it was and how she really shouldnt.

I dont even want to be in the same room as her, but I dont want to just start shunning her. How on earth do I rid myself of the copycat?

  • How does warped tour work?

My mother got me a ticket for my birthday, and I've never gone before. I'm going alone, but I'm not really worried about the safety of it. I just want to make sure I can see the bands I need to.

  • Could this be a defect on the x chromosome? Does anyone know anything about this particular defect?

My aunt has had two stillborn boys, but she has a healthy baby girl probably two years old now. My friend, a girl, has three living sisters ranging from 9-17, but she has had three still born brothers.

So I have a theory that there's a defect on one of the maternal x chromosomes. Like with color-deficiencies, which is carried on the x chromosome, females can jump to the 'back-up' x. That's why there's so many less color deficient females than males. So what if this gene is on the x chromosome and when it's passed down to the boys, they die but when it's passed down to girls they just use the info on the other x chromosome? It'd be virtually impossible for a girl to die from it since boys couldnt live with it therefore theyd always have theyre backup x. Another thing that supports this theory is that my aunt has a brother, so he would have gotten the clean x from his mother, whereas my aunt got the defective x and is passing it on to her boys. Sorry of this doesn't make much sense.

So my question is: Is my theory possible? Does anyone else have any experience with this defect or know someone who has? Does this defect have a name or a reason?

[On a side note, while my knowledge of genetics is limited, I'm not an idiot. Don't say it'd be on the y chromosome because they're boys, because that would make the fathers impossible.]

  • What do you think of this high school commencment speech?

[The super secret thing is that I'm not done with high school, this is just for English class. I was just wondering if you thought it was good cause I don't wanna sound like an idiot when I present.]

It seems like moments ago we were only taking our first steps into high school. Now look at us, graduating. We never could have made it on our own, whether we like to admit it or not. Here and now, lets thank our teachers, school staff members, and our families, for helping us get through the last few years of early mornings, late nights, and grasping brand new concepts.

I remember in seventh grade when someone asked me if I had any plans for the future, I would tell them that I had four years to figure it out. It seemed like a long time back then, but those four years flew by. Before I knew it, I was a junior, sending away college application with no real idea where I wanted to go.

The future is so full of potential for all of us, the kids who are going to college to further their education, and the kids heading directly into the workforce. The beauty is we can be anything, do anything. We are the dreamers of far flung dreams, and I am so excited to see what brilliance this class has to offer.

Remember what you’ve learned, not only in the classroom, but from mistakes, and other people. Close your eyes, and remember how you felt when you walked into the school for the first time, and remember how it felt to walk out the last. Remember everything in between. Take it with you and use it in your future because that is what high school is for. Getting you ready for the future.
