  • Character names please?

For in my book. A boy and a girl.

    Boy-

Is fifteen, from England, black and red dyed hair, nose and lip pierced, clever, loyal friend but has some trust issues, appears to be laidback and relaxed with a very happy-go-lucky attitude but that's really a mask, in truth he is very tense and wary with a stressful home life and abusive parents.

    Girl-

Also fifteen, half Irish, long brown hair with side fringe, both ears pierced, one multiple times, as well as bellybutton and tongue, average intelligence academically but has very good people skills and is wise in the ways of the world, good friend if a little too willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, one of the main events in the story is that she accidentally falls pregnant.

They are best friends, by the way.

    Thanks :-)

  • Twin names to go with Rosaline/Rosie?

Kay, so for my story, I have this character called Rosaline Jackson, only everybody calls her Rosie for short.

She has a twin brother, but I have no idea what to name him. It has to be a name that will flow well with Rosie, and with Jackson.

He has dark hair and green/blue eyes (haven't decided yet) and is tall with tanned-ish skin. He has lots of friends and is a bit of a ladies man. He gets into trouble quite a lot at school, and is very clever but just doesn't apply himself.

    Thanks :)

  • Extract from my gay romance story. Critique please?

For my creative writing class. Thanks :)

    He smirked.

"I've seen you staring, Aidan," He whispered. "I know you watch me work. You like it, I know you do. You like it when it's hot and I take my shirt off - you like watching me sweat, don't you?"

"I-I..." I stammered hoarsely. He closed the space between us, backing me up against the wall.

"D'you want me to take my shirt off now?" He said, his head very close to my ear. "You do, don't you?" He peeled his clingy shirt away from his body.

"C-Caleb..." I said, my breath hitching.

"Mm. I like it when you say my name like that, baby," He bent down to press his lips to my neck, kissing and sucking. My hand knotted in his long tangle of black hair and he moaned against my skin.

"C-Caleb," I panted. "I've been waiting for this, for you, for so long."

"Me too, baby," He said. "I'm going to make you feel so good, Aidan. I'm going to make you mine."

"Oh, God," I moaned feeling a stirring in my pants. He looked up at me, smiling seductively.

"Mm," He moaned. "We're so bad. Imagine if your dad caught us. Imagine how much trouble we'd be in. Ooh, we'd be in so much trouble..."

"Caleb, you're driving me mad here," I gasped.

"Good, that's the idea," He said, laying me down on a bale of hay and kissing me passionately. "Now, let's get those clothes off."

  • Help with character names?

I need character names for my new story. I have some ideas, but suggestions are also welcome :-)

    CHARACTER ONE:

    -Male

    -15 y/o

    -Black hair and green eyes

    - Artistic

    -Very shy and reclusive

-Feels ugly because he has a lot of facial scarring. For this reason, he is a borderline agoraphobic.

My ideas: Myth, Angel, Aleksander (Aleks), Onyx

    CHARACTER TWO:

    -Male

    -15 y/o

-Blonde hair and blue eyes, with glasses.

    -Academic and musical

    -Outgoing and friendly

-Very easy to get along with, is friends with practically everyone, gets very good grades in school.

My ideas: Jude, Matthew (Matt/Mattie), Jesse, Grant, Ashley

    CHARACTER THREE:

    -Male

    -6 y/o

    -Blonde hair and brown eyes

    -Happy, energetic little boy

-Is character one's foster brother. Doesn't really understand why character one doesn't like to show his face out of the house because he thinks that c1 is 'the most beautiful, handsomest big brother in the world'.

My ideas: Charlie, Benjamin (Ben/Benji), Robert (Bobby), Samuel (Sam/Sammy)

  • Biblical or Christian boys names?

For my creative writing class I need names for two minor characters in my story. They're both boys (brothers) and their last name is Connolly. Their parents are very religious and I would like for them to have religious, biblical or names to do with Christianity. Thanks.

BTW: If anybody says 'Christian' my best friend Lacey and I will come to your house and drive a car through your wall.

    You have been warned...

  • Critique my romance story opening?

This is my first shot and writing a romance story so please take that into consideration. It's from a guy's point of view, because I wanted to be original and stuffs:

The cracked surface of the dusty concrete path was hot underneath the soles of my bare feet. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead and trickled down the contours of my unclothed spine. As I saw her standing at the end of the path, a good thousand yards away from me, my grip on my shirt, clutched in the fist of my left hand, tightened considerably.

She was perfection in every sense of the word. She was talented, she was clever, she was funny. In appearance, she was more than beautiful. She was alluring. Her hair was dark blonde in colour and hung to her waist. It shone like a waterfall of molten gold when the light caught it at the right angle. Her face held high cheekbones, with wide indigo-blue eyes and full heart-shaped lips. The nose was tilted and delicately straight. As she pushed herself upwards between the two fence posts, swinging back and forth, she laughed with a sense of strangely beautiful childish glee. I swallowed and closed my eyes, steeling myself, before heading slowly towards this angel amongst men. I inhaled deeply, before touching her arm with a touch that was barely there. "Serena?" I whispered the sweetest of words to ever cross my lips. She turned and stared at me, her eyes widening even more in shock.

"Blaze?" Her lyrical voice wobbled as she whispered my name. I smiled.

"Yes. It's me. I came back for you," I breathed, before pressing my lips to hers.

All critisism welcome. Thank you :)

  • Smells that are sensual?

My boyfriend and I are trying to spice things up in the bedroom. For next time he stays over I'm buying some stuff (scented candles, massage oil etc) and I don't know which smells to pick. I know how there's smells that can evoke feelings, like lavender can make you relax etc. I was wondering which smells are considered sensual or sexy.

    Thanks :)

  • I actually want to murder my ex?

    Grr.

    I'm really angry right now. My ex-boyfriend is still jealous and possessive and acts as if he owns me, even though we've been split up for almost a year now. He's trying to stir up my current relationship so I'll go back to him. Some examples;

-He told my boyfriend that I kissed him with my eyes open (which I did- when it was just a peck on the lips that lasted about half a second) and that meant I didn't really love him.

-He tried to spread about that I had chlamidya (which I don't- I got checked last week) so my boyfriend would leave me.

-He posted ancient pictures of us kissing (from when we were still together) on my boyfriend's brothers Facebook wall and said I was cheating.

I've told him to back off, but he won't. What can I do?

  • Names for characters?

  • Interview with your book character?

Well, I'm off school and bored, so I thought I'd do one of these. It can be any character you like (protagonist, antagonist, supporting character etc)

The character I'm answering for isn't actually mine, he's one of my best friend Lacey's.

    1) What's your name, and how old are you?

My name's Jasper Beecham, but I mostly get called Jazz or Jazzy. I'm fifteen, nearly sixteen, though people say I look a lot older.

    2) Do you have any love interests at the moment?

Hmm. Well. Yeah, now you mention it. Axel is amazing. He's gorgeous and funny and clever and witty and down to earth. And taken. Why is it always the losers and the crazies who stay single?

    3) Do you have a family? If so, who are they and what are they like?

My family... well, there's me and Dad and Mum at home. Though Mum's often away on 'business trips.' Meaning she's probably out seeing other men. Dad doesn't seem to care that much. He's too busy drinking and kicking the crap out of me to notice that she's gone most of the time.

    4) What are your ambitions/goals?

To take over the world! No, I joke. Er... find someone nice, I guess. Settle down, start a family. OH, and I quite fancy myself as a television preseneter, now you mention it. Not something stupid like Davina McCall. A serious presenter. Like Terry Wogan or Jeremy Kyle.

    5) Describe your physical appearance.

Black hair, greeny brown eyes, snakebites in my bottom lip. I often wear black and long clothes to cover the bruises. And rings. Lots of rings. They come in handy if I ever get into a fight at school. Not that I often do. Dad would kill me if I just went round randomly fighting. I gave my favourite ring to Axel, because he's my favourite person in the world.

    6) What is the best thing that has ever happened to you?

Hmm. Sleeping with Axel, by a mile. Oh my God, I was so happy. And I didn't have to talk him into it. He suggested it. I felt a bit bad afterwards though. I mean, he does have a boyfriend, after all.

    7) What is the worst thing that's ever happened to you?

Ooh. Too many to chose one. Dad's involved in all of them, though, I can garuntee it.

    8) What d'you do in your spare time?

Read. Draw. Not very good at it, but still, it passes the time away. I hate not doing anything.

    9) If you could have any one thing in the world, what would it be?

Axel. I know it's mean, but I personally think he'd be much better off with me than he is with Xander. I mean, Xander's good-looking but he's pretty boring to be honest. I can be more exciting, a bit daring. Plus I wouldn't go crackers on him for just hugging another guy. And I'd never yell at him or control him the way Xander does. Axel's amazing *sighs and daydreams about the time I slept with him*

    10) What's your pet peeve?

    For reasons mentioned above, Xander.

  • What are you guys doing for Valentine's Day?

    I was just curious.

In case you guys were wondering on Saturday (the weekend before Valentine's. It's on a school night *sob*), me and my Oli and my best friend and her boyfriend are doing the whole double-date thing (okay, I've been told they don't go well, but if it sucks, we've said we can ditch each other). We're going to the pictures (haven't decided what to see yet- we're thinking either Black Swan or Hereafter) then doing the whole go for a walk together in the moonlight thing. Yes, I know it's really cheesy, but I love that kind of thing. Then, afterwards, since I'd be alone in the house otherwise Oli is going to erm... *clears throat nervously* spend the night at my place *blushes like a tomato*.

So... are you guys doing anything and if you are... what?

  • What nationality would you expect this character to be?

Just out of interest, because I thought he would be British, but some of my friends have said he would be American or Australian (he's from a homework piece btw)

    -Longish blonde curly hair

-Sort of tanned (like not pasty pale, but not tangoed)

    -Called Tommy

-Bright, bubbly, sunny personality (always laughing, smiling, etc)

    -Kind, caring nature

So to you does he sound (stereotypically) British, American or Australian?

  • My mate's girlfriend is a total utter psychopath?

My mate started going out with this girl about a month ago who is- to put it plainly- a complete utter whore. She really gets herself about, but my friend really likes her. But...

I hugged my friend the other day and the day after when she saw me she told me to 'keep my hands off him' really aggressively

She told my best mate Lacey that she's not allowed to talk to him unless she's there (which is nuts because Lacey actually has a boyfriend)

She's been getting really possessive of him, like she always had to be holding his hand and she never gives him space.

When she's there he's all alert and agitated and twitchy but when she isn't he's cool and calm like he used to be, until someone mentions her. Then we're back to twitchy boy.

I'm also kinda worried that she's been hitting him because I noticed when we were changing for P.E he had a couple of bruises on his chest. When I asked him about them he just mumbled something about getting into a fight when I was ill, but nobody else seems to know about it. And I know if she hit him he wouldn't hit her back because he point blank refuses to hit girls (and rightly so).

    I'm really concerned about him.

    What should I do?

  • Do you think it would be okay for me to do this?

For a creative writing class (that my friend made me go to, but I'm actually enjoying) we have to write a story about a subject close to us. I have a very close friend who suffered from depression for years, and he tried to kill himself (and - luckily- failed) and I was thinking about writing mine about teen depression. But I know the man who runs the class had a son who he lost because of depression.

Do you think I should write it about my friend, or would that seem insensetive to the teacher?

  • Names for a school in a book?

    I need a name for a Catholic school in my book. I would like it to be Saint Something's Acadamey but if you don't want to do the whole cliche Catholic-School-Saint thing, some more information about it;

    -It's in England

    -It's in London

    -It's very strictly Catholic

-It's been around since Victorian times, when it used to be a boarding school.

    Thanks :)

  • Would you mind reading and critiquing my excerpt?

The rain hammered on the window like a hale of bullets. Gale force winds rattled the window-panes and whistled down the chimney. We sat in a small circle in the middle of the room, the five of us, huddled together for warmth, listening to the storm outside getting stronger and faster. Jonah huddled up tighter, pulling his knees up to his chest and hugging them tight. "It's okay," Kelly soothed. "It'll stop soon, I'm sure of it."

"You said that half an hour ago," Jonah whimpered, but he cuddled into her gratefully.

"That's no ordinary storm, my boy," I said. "I got a story to tell you. See, in 1995, fifteen years ago tonight, something went on. Something you wouldn't believe. It was a dark night, stormy, not unlike this one. Where this building is now, it used to be a lunatic asylum. A pretty raven haired girl, twenty one years old, name of Elena Harrison, had been admitted a good year or two before. Not long after being sectioned, she fell unwillingly pregnant to one of the staff, handsome bloke, mid-thirties. He was done for rape and arrested when she told her story to the police.

"Nine months later, she took the baby and ran away from the asylum, scared that they were going to take her son away. Driven mad with love for him, convinced that the man who violated her was still on the lookout for her and her infant child, she hung herself from an oak tree and left the baby to die in a forest not half a mile north of the asylum. A kindly stranger passing found the child, almost starved to death, a fortnight later. She took him in and raised him, like he was her own.

"The baby's father got out of jail not long afterwards, and set about looking for his child and its mother. He was scared... he'd done other things to Elena, horrible, unspeakable things. He was convinced she'd told the child, and he wanted to silence them both for good. He reached the forest where they'd been last seen, and something was preventing him from entering. He fought it and fought it but he couldn't win. He was found dead in a nearby river the next morning, with no signs of being harmed in anyway, or being ill. They say if you listen hard enough, you can still hear the baby crying, the girl weeping, the man screaming as her ghostly fingers close around his throat..."

"Seth!" McKenzie snapped, jumping to his feet. "For God's sake, you're scaring Jonah."

"No I'm not," I protested, standing up too, though he was in tears. "It's just a story. Ghosts aren't real. I made it up on the spot."

"Well... you're a bit too good at it," Jodie said uneasily. I think I freaked her out a little bit too. I sighed.

"Oh, for God's sake," I said. "It's a STORY. For a start, there's no woods or rivers for miles around here and secondly, this building has never been a loony asylum. It's an orphanage... a kid's Home, whatever you wanna call it. It always has been a kid's Home and it always will be a kid's Home. Okay, Jonah?"

"Alright," He said, though he didn't look to sure.

Then, very faintly, a man screamed in the distance. Everyone stared at me like I was performing some brilliant act of ventriloquism. "Don't look at me," I shrugged. "It'll be someone getting beat up in the village. Again." Everyone nodded in agreement. But then we heard the scream again, closer this time.

Like it was right outside the window.
