Will the world finally get over the "left wing" bias claim?
For many years, I've watched the media slam, terrribly unfairly, the Clinton's and now Caroline Kennedy, among others, for anything that will make good press, facts being irrelevant. They do it to the "right" also. But please let's not hear any more rants about the "left wing" media. And trust me, all of those who are whining conservatives, it will soon start with Obama.
7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDoes anyone really believe that Palin is STUPID?
Palin has been a mayor, chairman of an energy comission, a business owner and a governor. Is it fair to suggest that she is STUPID, etc.? This stuff is disgusting, in my opinion. Where is the objectivity among YA and the rest of the world? Hey, Dems and liberals, let's get a grip and start thinking about what is good for America and our children and stop the silliness. I'd like to think we Dems are better than this, but I'm wondering if we have any true convictions that go beyond winning elections in the name of our "tribe." Please don't tell me that, hey, "the other side does it"; that's STUPID!
16 AnswersOther - Australia1 decade agoWho is the "real" Obama?
My question is political, but will someone tell me what he really has '"inside?" I am a committed Democrat, a flaming liberal, but I have a real problem understanding his appeal, other then great evamgelical speeches, the fact that he is "black", and the clear bias of the media.. I will vote for Obama because it is a vote for a Prez we must have to get the things done that I believe in, but I cannot find anything in this man that is remarkable or indicates a leadership quality.
5 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy does the media criticize Palin for not allowing reporters questions when she met with various leaders?
When Obama did his overseas trip, it was "scripted" and no reporters were allowed to ask questions. What is the difference? I am a Democrat and will have a hard time voting in any other way, but I am sick of this sort of double standard with the media. What the hell is going on with the media??
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy can't media types understand the nuances of 'percentages'?
E.g., if someone or something is "at 50%" and has a 10% increase that means they have increased to 55% ((50 X 110%.) If they have a percentage increase of 10 points, they have gone to 60%. Very few in the media seem to get the difference. Small point, maybe, but why can't these "experts" get it right? Is it symbolic of a general ignorance within the media?
1 AnswerMedia & Journalism1 decade agoDoes anyone out there really understand this bailout mess?
Why does the "financial community" need 700 billion? Has that much cash left the "system", to China and elsewhere? The cash didn't just disintegrate, did it? Where is it? I'm an accountant but I can't get my arms around this. Please help me !!!
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDoes anyone in the media understand the difference between "elite" and "elitist?"?
Here we go again with "who is more of an elitist" based soley on how much money they have. Elitist = someone who believes in rule by an elite group or person. Elite = someone with superior status. There is no inevitable relationship between the two. We've all known elites who are not elitist and elitists who are not elite. After several months of discussion on the subject I've yet to see a single media type explain the difference.

15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs it significant that Clinton would be almost 200 delegates ahead if the Dem primaries were winner take all?
I'm not suggesting that either the Repub or Dem system is more or less fair than the other or that either is more reflective of who will make the better candidate. Just wondering what YOU think.
6 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDid the US fire bombing of Japan during WWII constitute an act/acts of terrorism?
Almost 70 cities were virtually destroyed by fire and several hundred civilians were burned to death. Were these acts war crimes or acts of terrorism?

17 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoIs it improper to analyze a political race in the context of race or gender?
For example, if someone suggests that Obama will get more of the Black vote because he is Black or Clinton will get more of the female vote because she is female, is that observation racist or sexist?
