  • What is a covariate?

I'm confused as to what a covariate in a study is and when you would use one? Does anyone have an example of a hypothetical study with a covariate in it as well? Thank you!

  • How to get carbon 14 ratio from fossil age?

"You have found a fossil that you think is approximately 18,000 years old. What ratio of 14C/14N would you

    expect?"

This is for a biology class not physics so I don't think they expect us to know the activity formula but could you get the ratio by simply looking at a graph? The graph provided was just a simple radioactive decay one off of google images, thanks for any help!!

  • Doctors who dont deal with needles/blood,etc?

I really, really want to become a doctor because I genuinely want to devote my life to helping others, I'm doing neuroscience undergrad right now, but I honestly can't handle seeing blood or cuts or needles :/ do doctors just learn to get over it? I was looking into radiology because that mostly works with just scans instead of actually seeing the 'gross' stuff but are there other specialties that don't deal with seeing cut flesh or injuries?? I really wish I wasn't so weak with that stuff :( thanks for any help!!

  • Why is the search for exoplanets focused on Jupiter size planets not terrestrial earth like ones?

Since we are searching for life, why are astronomers focused on finding gaseous planets like hot jupiters instead of terrestrial ones? is it because the bigger ones are easier to find?

  • Can someone deposit a check to your account just with your account number?

Can a person write out a check to "cash" and deposit it to your account if they only knew your account number, or would they need to know your name as well? And is there a limit to how much? Either Bank of America or chase. I heard chase doesn't allow cash deposits by other people, does Bank of America? Thank you!

  • AP Physics 2 Fluids Problem?

The local pool is closed for the afternoon as Tripod prepares his science-fair project. Dr. J had refused to give him a specific idea in the belief that students should come up with their own. For Dr. J to completely outline the project would put Tripod one leg up on everyone else. Finally, after howling all night, Tripos squeezed at least a hint from his master. "Why not study the side effects of dumping things in the water?" DR. J said . So here is Tripod, on a float, ready to drop an anchor in the midle of the pool-mayve not what Dr. J had inmind, but unique enough to make a big spash in the competition. The pool is 10 meters long and 8 meters wide. If the 300 N anchor has a specific gravity of 2.5, how much will the water level on the side change when he drops the anchor?

  • Translate to Spanish without google translate please?

I would be unhappy most of the time. I think that I would ask my mom to take my seat instead. I have high hopes for my future. I want to travel the whole world in the future. We had our own party the next day. All of my friends came and it was a lot of fun.

  • Translate to Spanish please!!! No google translate?

I would travel to Guatemala because it's warm there and my aunt lives there for a couple of years before and said she really liked it. I would buy a house on every continent so I could live wherever I wanted to, and travel the world and not have to pay for hotels. I think it was good that I studied Spanish because more countries in the world speak Spanish than French so it's more helpful than French.

I like to go camping but only with my family or close friends. When I used to go to camp in the summer we would go camping in Indiana. One time it started raining which was not fun at all. In fourth grade I went camping with my class in the mountains because I lived in Washington and it was fun but I also really missed my home. I did not like that it was really cold in the mornings or that there were a lot of bugs around us all the time. I did like having a campfire and singing songs. I would want to go camping to starved rock because ive been hiking there once but never camping. I think it would be fun. Its a really nice place. I would just bring a lot of bug spray and a sweater and gloves. I would also bring snacks like chocolate and chips. I think the best time to go camping is in the summer.
