I've heard that the NATO ammo will work in the larger-chambered PMK (so the Ruskies could use captured ammo), but the NATO guns cannot accept the longer Russian cartridges. Is that how it works?

Harry Reid, for example, said a year ago "The war in Iraq is lost." Politicians say the most absolutely absurd things, but are supposed to be pretty smart people. Are they just trying to test the waters and see how many people will buy into their agenda, or do they really live in an altered state of reality?
This isn't a question to give the peaceniks a silogysm. The war thing is just an example. Please comment on the nature of the question, not the specifics.
