Hi I am the administrator of my mother's estate, and I have some questions about finalizing it. She died intestate, and with no property assets. She did however have assets in the form of cash in bank accounts and money owed to her from her father's estate. All of that money is now in an estate account, and it is well over the amount of the cost of her debts. We have filed all the necessary paperwork, and have displayed our notice for claims. My lawyer told me that after the claims period is over the estate could be finished really quickly, or it could take a few months. What would cause it to take so long? Is that only if someone sues the estate? Because my mother's estate assets will fully cover the cost of her debts, should we be able to finalize more quickly? Also, if someone does contact me with a claim, should I pay them with the funds of the estate, or do I have to wait until directed to do so by the court?

The vet told me that my dog would not be hungry after heartworm treatment, which he received yesterday. He was not hungry at all yesterday but he is completely back to normal today, even though the vet said it would take 2-3 days. Is it a cause for alarm that he has been eating like normal since he woke up this morning? He's not overeating, he's eating like he usually does.

My grandfather recently passed away and then shortly afterward my mother passed away. When she died she had no funds or assets and no will, so she had no executor. But she was supposed to inherit from my grandfather. So now I have to set up an estate account for her and have my grandfather's estate be distributed via my mother's estate. The problem is that my step father and I already had a private agreement that we would split the check from my grandfather's estate between the two of us, but according to probate law for my state (NC) my father is legally entitled to the first 30k of my mother's estate, which is well over half the money. So my question is, if the both of us have agreed to split the check, can we make that agreement be the official court ruling over her estate? Like, since we are the only two heirs, will the fact that we have worked out the inheritance amongst ourselves matter? Or will they be required to give the first 30k to my step dad, even though he agreed to give me half?

I am trying to start performing weddings in my area but I am having a really hard time coming up with a business name. I am not opposed to "My Name" Wedding Services, but I am in the process of getting certified as a doula as well and I hope to include that service later once I am certified. I want a name that could easily transform to include the doula services. I thought about "My Name" Family Services, but I'm not sure that people would associate that with weddings and births and I worried that the name would limit me in terms of google searches. Any ideas? Do you think family services is a good way to go?

i am trying to view slides on one of these but i have no idea how to operate it. it looks kinda like this: http://www.ioffer.com/i/revere-p-888-automatic-2-x... except that where the slides go is a tray on the side and i don't know how to get the slides to go into the part that does the projecting.

I am a beginner knitter and a pattern I am using that is supposed to be easy but it says (K1. Inc 1 st in next st) 8 times. What does that mean? I know what increasing is but what do they mean by do it 8 times? 8 times in the row or what?

I have an HP laptop and while I was using it it suddenly cut out on me. I checked the power supply and that's definitely not it. I tried turning it back on and it stayed on for about 2 minutes and did the exact same thing. It makes a click sound and suddenly its off. I'm really worried and I don't know what to do please help.

how can i get this to stop? the pointer keeps flashing in and out. it's a track pad mouse.

My fiance and I can NOT find a place to have our wedding! We need something fairly inexpensive and close to the Charlotte-Mooresville area. We can't find anything that's cheap that isn't a chapel and reception hall. We can do a reception hall if necessary but we would prefer something outdoors, and we really don't want to do a chapel since we aren't religious. We would prefer an outdoor area for the ceremony too, it doesn't have to be great, it just needs to be inexpensive, like under a thousand.

nothing is on it and its on a flat surface and the disc i was trying to play is fine, i was just wondering if it is safe to use the xbox despite the vibrating until i get it fixed?

My boyfriend and I were having an argument about what comes in basic cable. I said it's channels 2-75ish, and I said it includes comedy central and stuff. He said it's channels 2-40ish and does not include comedy central. I tried looking at some cable companies' websites but I couldn't find the information there.

It's been running ridiculously slow lately and I tried shutting down other processes on my computer but that didn't help and I know we haven't downgraded our internet or anything so that's not it either. Also sometimes when I start my computer and click on the Firefox button it doesn't always open. I haven't been able to figure out how to fix it the only way I have fixed it is by restarting my computer. What is wrong with my Firefox and how can I fix it?

I am on the pill and I visited my mom's house yesterday and just got home today. I take my pill at night and when I went to take it tonight I realized it must have been left at my mom's house!! We are snowed in here and I don't have a car so no one can take me to my mom's or to the pharmacy for plan b until the snow clears up in a couple days!!!! There are so many books like what to expect when you're expecting that are written for new moms and I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good book that covers the pregnancy and childbirth process that is writtten for new dads?

What is the best option to wipe my hard drive so I can resell my laptop? I do not have the original OS disks but I do have a blank CD if that helps.

I have a laptop that I want to sell but of course I want to remove all of my personal information first. I know that even if I delete everything the information can still be retrieved and that you have to write over the hard drive after you've wiped it for everything to truly be gone. What can I do to make sure everything is off of there?

My fiance and I are on a budget, and were thinking about renting a pavilion/tent at a local park. I'm worried about how the atmosphere will look. If we do go with the park tent, does anyone have suggestions for what we could do about the typically disgusting park tent cement floors?
