  • Question Regarding NOPAT?

Hi. I'm trying to determine Bank of America's NOPAT for FYs 2009, 2010, and 2011. I have calculated the rates to be -43.94%, -69.16%, and -728.70%, respectively, by dividing BAC's Income Tax Expense by its Income Before Tax. However, 2011's tax rate seems to be very, very low, which is wrecking havoc on my NOPAT calculation [EBIT(1-T)]. If someone could please verify for me Bank of America's effective tax rates and NOPAT for 2009, 2010, and 2011, I will gladly provide them with the best answer 10 points.

  • Finance Question: Call Option on a Stock?

The current price of a stock is $22 and at the end of one year the price will be either $27 or $17. The risk free rate based on daily compounding is 6.0%. A 1-year call option on the stock with an exercise price of $22 is available. What is the option value?

    ---------------------------

I suspect that the option value is ~$2.43 . However, I am not certain of this. Anyone who can confirm or deny my answer with a brief explanation will receive best answer points.

  • What kind of computer programmer creates/modifies/works with codecs?

Greetings, people of Yahoo! I recently started up my own company and am looking for someone who has extensive knowledge building, modifying, and testing codecs for audio-visual media playback. Unfortunately, this is somewhat outside of my area of expertise and I'm not sure what skills this type of programmer should have. If anyone could help direct me to the type of programmer that would work on building codecs, I would very much appreciate it.

  • Key 10th Memorial Score : Where to Buy or Download (Japanese music album)?

OK Yahooligans, listen up. I've been searching for an album for two years now and haven't been able to get a hold of it because its so darned rare. The piece: 'Key 10th Memorial Score' Its a Japanese album released in limited quantities by Key Sounds Label. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Key_10th_Memo... ) It comes with a music sheet that looks like this: ( http://key.visualarts.gr.jp/10thfes/goods/goods_03... ). I don't need the sheet music, just the songs themselves; list price is of minimal concern.

There's a saying that goes 'Yahoo! Answers is the place where knowledge goes to die.' That's usually true... however, just once, can we all work together to solve a problem in this world? You know, a problem that can be solved collectively and not via a simple Yahoo/Google search? If so, I am in your debts. Do me proud, quasi-anonymous members of Yahoo!!

  • Basketball Trade : CLE, PHX, TOR?

What do you guys think of this trade (see link below)? I can see it going down at the trading deadline if the Raptors don't go anywhere and Bosh continues to say he would like to play with LeBron. Z would then be bought out by the Suns, with a possibility he might resign with Cleveland. Thoughts???

  • Chemistry Buffer Problem: Explanation Needed?

I was in my chemistry class the other day when my professor proposed the following hypothetical problem:

"Calculate the PH of a solution made by mixing 100ml of .1 Molar (X) with 100ml of .1 Molar (Y)"

He then corrected himself, saying that 100ml of Y would not make the solution a buffer system, so he changed the amount of Y to 50ml. I was under the impression that a buffer solution could not contain a strong acid or base, and could only contain a weak acid/base and its conjugate. If that is the case, then why would the amount of ml (Y) matter? Is there an exception to the rule that I do not know about? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. As always, the best answer will get best answer points. Thank you in advance.

  • Equivalence Point Question with Strong Acid & Weak Base?

What volume of acid (in mL) is needed to reach the equivalence point when 50.00 mL of 0.4 M CH3CH2NH2 (Kb=0.00056) is titrated with 0.4 M HCl? I know that meane I have .002M of base, but I'm stumped as to what I should do to complete this problem. If anyone can provide some suggestions which are accurate, I'll give them the best answer.

  • Acid Base Equilibria Question, (with my work provided, please help!)?

I am attempting to determine if one could make a buffer solution with a pH of about 9.0 using each of the indicated materials shown below:

    1) 100 mL 0.25 M HCN (Ka = 4.9 x 10-10) and 200 mL 0.25 M NaCN

    2) Mix 50 mL of 0.25 M HCl with 51 mL of 0.25 M NaOH

    3) 100 mL 0.25 M CH3COOH (Ka = 1.8 x 10-5) and 300 mL 0.25 M NaOH

    ~My Work~

Question 1 contains a weak acid and its conjugate base. Therefore, I know it creates a buffer solution, but I am unsure if it is a buffer @ a ph of about 9.0 . Using approximation, I derived the computation

4.9E(-10)=(.05x)/(.25) to get a Ph of 9.6 . Is this correct? Could it be deemed 'close'?

Question 2 contains a strong acid and a strong base, so it can't be a buffer solution, correct?

Question 3 contains a strong base and a weak acid, so it shouldn't be able to make a buffer solution, correct?

Some feedback would be appreciated in your answer. You will get best answer credit if you do and the information is accurate. Thank you in advance!
