Every time I check my mail I have ALLL these requests from obvious spammers lined up and no matter what I do... do I have a virus?

I could snoop around but I have work to do. SO. Here's a freebie.

At the bottom right toolbar (Windows) it seems no matter when or what PC I'm on a little bubble letting me know Java updates are ready pops up ALWAYS and it's ****ing annoying! It's so persistent I always ignore it for fear it might be some clever virus ruse.

My question. Is it at all important to up-grade/date Java (no. But if so why won't it do so on its own?) and can I disable that damn pop-up once and for all?

I am sanding and refinishing tables for work. I am using a polyurethane/stain combo and following directions as well as possible from the can, tables look great, until you get a look under sunlight refection and see all kinds of streaking! It drives me insane! Is there no way short of re-sanding to remove them? Would a layer of just polyurethane disguise them? Should I be using a rag to wipe excess stain every few strokes?

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 that is horribly slow. If coming off screen saver, prepare yourself for a good two minute wait. If playing Pandora, it will stop every twenty minutes and say (paraphrased) "A script is running slow and may cause slow down. Stopping script... blah blah." Can I get a good geek to explain what I can do???

He is three months old as was "rescued" from a gang of white trash.

He is used to being indoors but is now living in a mountain cabin in the hills. He only poops under the downstairs bed and no amount of beating (kidding) and the like stops him. FYI there is a medium dog and older male cat in the house. Kitty is a male too and this is the ONLY trouble he causes.

Honestly, I don't believe the media. I had no problems with ladies. Always had steady girlfriends, ladies would approach me. Since my hair loss became obvious at 27, all stopped. Are there really women who don't care or, are actually attracted to, bald(ing) men.

Why do some quotes use "[ ]" when without the word in brackets the sentance would make no sense? Example:
