  • My TV has two coaxial inputs. One is labelled Antenna/Cable, the other one Satellite. Can I connect an antenna to the Satellite input?

In my apartment's wall I have two different coax outputs: one is cable provider (without settop box) and the other one is an old aerial antenna on the roof. Both have programming that overlaps on some channels and other channels are only found on one of the outlets. I would like to use my TV's Satellite input to switch between the two antennas (with a physical adapter as the coax plugs are different). Will the satellite input accept an antenna signal?

  • Which program would best help me count sold/rented items?

I have started a company selling photo greeting cards. We have over 500 different ones. I have cataloged them into groups by topic: A for Animals, so there's A1, A2, A3 etc. F for flowers, so there's F1, F2, F3 etc.

We have made 50 sales of multiple cards at a show, where we noted down each item sold. Now I would like to tally up the sales and find which cards sold, which didn't and how much of each. I have all the Microsoft Office apps, but can't figure out how to do that in Excel.

I could enter, line by line:

    Sale #1: A5, F3, D7, M5

    Sale #2: A4

    Sale #3: F77, M5

    etc.

How do I then extract, say, number of M5s sold? I don't want to make a whole item inventory, as I mentioned that there are over 500 items and I'd rather just deal with the ones that were bought.

Maybe Excel is not the right way. Any Windows application program suggestions or Excel code suggestions? Accounting programs?

This is similar to, say, a public book library, where I have a record of all the rented items going in and out in a month and would like to know what has been out the most times - without having to construct a whole library database of 1000s of books....

  • How do I update only half the page with HTML/CSS when clicking a link? Keep slide show in Memory.?

I would like to make a simple (business) web site, where on the upper half I will have a continous slide show of ~5-8 pictures/slides and all the clicking action with actual content would happen below it, in the bottom half. I'd like the slide show to just continue continuously while the user clicks through relevant stuff below. I understand that I COULD just in each .htm file include the same code for top half of the page, but then I am afraid the slide show will stop and restart. I also understand (I think), that Ajax wil solve these kind of issues. But is there some simpler html way to have links point so that they just update a part of the screen, or the new content is put inside and existing target DIV, and to hold a slide show in browser's memory/cache for the duration of session?

Also: any good suggestion how to combine 5-10 GIF or JPG photos into a slide show? I guess JavaScript would be required, but if HTML can do it, I'd like to know.

    Thanks.

  • How can insitutional ownership be over 100%?

looking at both Yahoo's and MSN's profile of the company FLIR, both sites claim that insitutional ownership in the company is at >116-118% !

    How is that possible?

I know there's a lag between large mut funds reporting, or is this due to short term trading? Or error on both sites? Any clues?
