  • how many sparrows is your job worth?

my workplace just had bird netting put up outside in the garden center under the canopy to keep the sparrows from roosting (they can still roost in our topstock, just not in the rafters). the store paid $20,000 for the netting and installation, the installers left five or six sparrows inside the canopy, with no escape, when they finished the job.

i don't want these birds to starve. one has already died. i'm considering cutting the net to release them.

i've talked to management about the birds, and was told "they'll die." someone could at least poison them to keep them from suffering.(that's not what i want, i want to cut up the extravagent waste of cash and free the innocent birds)

we have extra netting for repairs, so it wouldn't be a real problem to open it up, get the birds out, and repair the netting, but in retail, "time is money, and we don't have enough".

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? --matthew 10:29
