  • Can I get CLEAR QUAM channels through cable without a cable subscription?

I'm not in the position to pay for cable TV, but i am interested in at least getting my local stations through clear quam. I know i can get free HD through my HD tuner over the air, but i live in a rural area and don't get very good reception. I've read in ALOT of places that cable providers are required to send clear quam signals though for all the local channels available in the area ever since the HD crossover. But I can't find if you need a cable subscription to receive them. I am looking at buying a tuner for my pc that supports clear quam...but would like to know if it'll work before i buy it. Thanks for the help!

  • Which Monitor should i buy?? 24" or 27.5"?

Im shopping for a monitor that i'll be using for my pc.....it's the main entertainment for my house and will be used for games, movies, and the internet. I have the PC hardware to push high resolutions (quad core 4g's ram gtx 275) but what im wondering is if the extra $100 will be worth it for an extra 4 inches....expessially since 24'' is already pretty big. Here are the links

  • How can I remove leading zeros in Excel while keeping text?

I need to take about 5000 rows and remove the leading zero in a 5 digit field. For example i have 0940U, and i need them to look like 940U. I'm using conditional formatting to compare a list of active employees to a list of about 10 times as many inactive employees so the clock numbers need to be in the 940U format without the leading zero! Any suggestions? Even if you have a formula that removes all the zero's I can manually add them later if needed. Thanks so much for you're help!

  • Is the "N word" ok to be used by everyone when it's forced into mainstream pop-culture by African Americans? ?

Almost every day i here the word "******". If discrimination by race is ever going to end, shouldn't it start with the terms we use refer to people of a certain race? And if that's the case, does that mean "******" or "*****" or whatever you want to call it is acceptable to say regardless of race if that very race it's describing are the ones pumping it into society, as long as it's used in the same context?

  • Will I be able to see more on screen with a widescreen monitor at widescreen resolution?

I've built pc's for a while now so I think I understand the hardware, but will you actually SEE MORE on the screen, expesially, on the left and right sides compared to a normal 4:3 setup?

I've tried to test this with movies and it seems like you do actually see more, but is it the same with games made for widescreen like crysis, ut3, or bioshock as long as it's set to a widescreen resolution like 1440x900?

    Thanks for you're help!!

  • Alternative to Yahoo Answers?

I LOVE the way this forum is designed and I think it really is the best format out there but I CANT STAND going to Yahoo's home page to log in and seeing the way Yahoo "spins" news headlines and promotes far left Liberal anti-americanism in almost EVERY ARTICLE!!! Sometimes the headlines are so far off from what really happened that I honestly can say I don't feel right supporting any of there products. I know that the media is inherently liberal but they have taken it way to far. Are there any alternatives??

  • What's the best way to controll the temps of a charcoal grill?

I love to cook on the grill and have recently purchased a nice charcoal grill. I've always used gas before and i'm having some problems keeping the coals hot long enough and controlling the temp in general. I know how to get it started and to let the coals become white before grilling but i'm having problems with when and how I should let more or less air into the grill. I know more air should mean more heat, but is that always true?? Especially after the coals are white hot and the flames are out, is it really best to leave the vents open on the lower section and the lid open also, or maybe a combination of open and closed?? Thanks for the help!
