What phone should I buy?
I'm approaching 60 yrs old.
I currently have a real basic LG flip-phone (through Verizon) that I use as a phone, to text, send and receive photos, and check my emails.
It sucks as a web browser.
I'm due for an upgrade and what I'd really like is to use one of the Verizon GPS golf range finder apps.
Using a GPS app for automobile driving would be a bonus.
Based on the few requirements I have, can anyone recommend a decent phone for a technology challenged senior?
Thanks!
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans10 years agoMy male supervisor makes lewd comments and gestures... what can I do?
I am a male union employee, and my male (non-union) supervisor makes rude and lewd comments and gestures about females (female co-workers and females in general) in front of his male and female staff. I know boys will be boys, but he takes it way over the line. His comments make the female staff extremely uneasy, and some of the older guys are unhappy with the example he's setting to younger employees. I work for a large corporation and he was hand picked for his position by some of the higher-up's, consequently everyone is very reluctant to say anything for fear of losing their jobs. How should I go about handling this anonymously... who do I contact, etc.? Thanks for your help!
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWill moth ball chips hurt my plants/shrubs?
I sprinkled moth ball chips into my flower bed to get rid of the chipmunks, and afterward thought it my burn-up the plants & shrubs I have planted there. Any thoughts?
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoI am NOT trying to be racist! "Who", exactly, sold the black Africans into white American slavery?
All I ever hear about is how evil the whites were for "buying" black Africans as slaves (and I don't argue that point at all... it was totally wrong), but I've never heard exactly who it was that sold them into slavery from Africa. Honest, factual answers only, please. No racist remarks!!! Please back-up your answers with source(s).
10 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoIs America ready to "go green" ??? Your opinions please.?
I've worked in the residential energy conservation field for almost 30 years... home insulation, high efficiency furnaces, etc.
I see families who are willing to spend "some" money to save "some" energy, but not so much as to inconvenience themselves.
Now I'm hearing all kinds of blather from Obama about America going "green", and frankly I just don't buy it.
Americans may be ready to spend their hard earned $$$ on CFL light bulbs (spending dollars to save dimes), but they're not ready to get rid of their 15-20MPG gas hog SUV's and replace them with a 30+MPG economy car (where America could REALLY save some energy).
I see them every day on my way to work... SUV's with only the driver, headed downtown; maybe a 2-to-1 ratio over economy cars.
Your thoughts and opinions please.
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoA doxie that blinks one eye more than it blinks both?
We've got two doxie's (from different doggie families); one is 2 yrs. old, the other 6 months old... only the pup does this. We'll be watching the pup watch us, and she'll only blink her left eye at us (like she's winking). She does the left eye blink more than blinking both eyes by about a 3-to-1 ratio. Darndest thing I ever saw; never seen it with any of my other dogs, and I've had dogs most of my life.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
1 AnswerDogs1 decade agoCan Tyvek be installed horizontally?
I've seen Tyvek (and other house-wraps) installed vertically... up the exterior walls of new-build homes, but I've never seen it installed horizontally (like under a garage ceiling). I looked at DuPont's web site, but found nothing. Any ideas? THANKS !!!
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoDo you have an example of racial profiling?
I believe "racial profiling", like "discrimination" is a two-way street.
Can you give me an example of how you, as a white person, were racially profiled by a non-white person? THANKS for your help!
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoThe Cambridge cop was the racist ?
OK, so now the fact has surfaced that the white Cambridge, MA cop who arrested the black Harvard professor, has taught the Racial Profiling class at the police academy for several years, and according to the Academy Director, is highly regarded. I think the "apology line" starts with Professor Gates, and continues with Rev. Al Sharpton and Pres. Obama, who both wrongly criticized and condemned Officer Crowley for merely doing his duty. I also believe Harvard should dismiss him from the University staff; if he's in charge of African American Studies, I shudder to think of the message he's poisoning the students with (take note Rev. Wright). It certainly appears that Prof. Gates is the racist.
Your thoughts ???
8 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoNow that Obama has been running the show for almost 6 months...?
is there any doubt in anyone's mind that he has a Socialist agenda ??? The US government will wholly or partly own: the US auto industry, the US banking industry, the US insurance industry, and God knows what else. The last thing Americans need is MORE government in their lives (wasn't that one of the knocks on Bush Jr.?).

1 AnswerGolf1 decade agoObama wants to rid the world of nuclear weapons?
Perhaps someone should send him the bumper sticker: "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns!". (The same holds true for nuclear weapons, Mr. President.)
12 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoDid you hear Rev. Al ?
"WE are da man now!" Speaking in reference to Obama's victory in the election... I knew it wouldn't take long for that to go to his already inflated ego. Just what America needs is Rev. Al thinking he's actually somebody.
13 AnswersElections1 decade agoDoes anyone else think Keith Olberman is a putz?
There's just enough truth in what he says to give him some credibility, but he's mostly full of horse-hockey. Your thoughts???
7 AnswersElections1 decade agoAmerica... does this make you feel safer ?
President Obama today stated that "America will no longer torture" (honoring the rights of suspected terrorists). I don't know about you, but having the terrorists know they have nothing to be afraid of if captured, makes me feel safer already.
God save us from Obama.
20 AnswersElections1 decade agoAn epiphany for Obama ?
Geez... just how dense is this guy ?
(from the Yahoo news article: "Obama honors King, prods nation to service"): Obama also said he spoke with the pilot who safely landed a disabled airliner in the Hudson River, US Airways Capt. Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger. "He said, 'Me and my crew, we were just doing our job.' And it made me think, if everybody did their job — whatever that job was — as well as that pilot did his job, we'd be in pretty good shape," Obama said.
Really? Ya think?
Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard, and this is the best he can come up with ???
America, we're in serious trouble!
12 AnswersElections1 decade agoKnow any decent courses within an hour's drive of Prescott, AZ ?

2 AnswersGolf1 decade agoAnybody else hear... Ms. Blago - Rezko - Obama ?
Can anybody substantiate or refute that Gov. Blago's wife was part of the shady real estate dealing between Rezko and Obama ??? I heard this on the radio today but cannot find data to support it. THANKS !!!
14 AnswersElections1 decade agoBail out the auto industry AGAIN ?
The last time we had a "gas crunch" (mid-1970's), Chrysler had to get bailed out by Jimmy Carter. Overall, it signaled the end of the beloved "muscle cars". Thirty years later we're being told the Big 3 need to be bailed out. Anybody wanna bet that SUV's and other gas hogs don't disappear from US roads? How many times are the US taxpayers going to be expected to keep the US auto industry alive? How about we let them die the miserable death they deserve? Survival of the fittest?
