Our 8 year old son has such a low self esteem he feels that he is NOT good at anything is this normal for 8 yr?

Infact he is good at lots of things.

This started when our school children did sponsor run to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

He only ran 4 laps (which I think is reasonable considering each my husband and I, are paying him £1 per lap lol which is £8 plus another £6 sponsorship money from other family members)

Our son is so upset because he was told by another child ( Josef Miles) that he is rubbish at everything.

According to him now he thinks that everyone else thinks that he is rubbish as well.

He was so upset he cried all night and still had problem this morning swallowing his breakfast.

I was so confused I ended up calling the school to find out if there is a school counsellor who could may be talk to him to sort things out however sadly our school dont have a counsellor who our son could talk to I have been told by the school secretary that I need to speak to the form tutor.

I am stuck with an upset low esteemed child and have no idea what to do please help

Do you agree with the terminology NAUGHTY STEP? Well according to Childrens Psychologists it demoralising children, and as parents we should pick a better name for the location where we put our children when they are misbehaving.

However we have a friend who is a child psychologist he was over here from America few years ago he totally disagreed with the word NAUGHTY STEP according to him the parents should name the step or location to something that would calm the child for better, and where children dont feel psychologically inferior and let down.

According to him by putting our child on a naughty step we are promoting naughtiness, and the chances are the child would think its ok to be naughty since they are already on a naughty step.

So when the child is being naughty we should divert his/her attention away from the naughtiness to a better direction, which could be to calm down, being good, stop misbehaving, doing good all in all

In schools they have a clouds in the class rooms where child go and sit under to think why were they not be so good.

Surprisingly there is a PSYCHOLOGY behind it all.

I was watching sky news this morning and was very shocked to see Afghanistan Talibans invading Swat in Pakistan and spreading terrorism.

In my opinions I think the UN and America should do something to help the people of SWAT valley.

I remember some time back when I visited my relatives back in Kashmir,

I was told by one of my distant uncles that the Pakistan Army and the Police to go to the Taliban camps to close and capture their leaders somehow they move before the army and the police could get to them.

I was also told that the Talibans spies are almost in every village, and they inform them of everything that is being planned.

Not everyone shares the view of having bearded men parading the streets with guns and Balaclavas

In my opinions it high time the international community should step in and tell the Talibans (Supposed students/Learner) to learn something useful like improving the regions economy and stop killing ordinary people because they dont have beards like the Talibans

Michael Forsythe was sentenced to 10 weeks in jail, suspended for 12 months, after being found guilty of racially aggravated disorderly behaviour.

Forsythe received the sentence at Magistrates Court and was also ordered to pay 200 pounds in prosecution costs.

Michael Forsythe, who is originally from Northern Ireland, now lives in Powys, Mid Wales, called Lorna Steele an "English *****" during an argument after he collided with her parked vehicle in the Welsh market town of Newport in February.

Forsythe has attacked the prosecution as a waste of time and money, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.

According to The yahoo News school teacher Gillian Gibbons has been found guilty of inciting hatred after she let her Sudan school pupils name a teddy bear Muhammad.

The 54-year-old mother of two from Liverpool escaped a possible sentence of 40 lashes but was given 15 days in jail and ordered to be deported by the court in Khartoum.

Just would like to know if you would trust your husband or partner if they delibrately leave their emails to and fro other women for you to see. My husband chats with other women online which I dont mind too much however lately he has been recieving emails from women informing him where and when the hotels rooms are booked for. he delibtaely left this email on screen just before I sat down to check my emails. He never tells me that loves me however he has the morals to tell other women how he is going to make love to them. Sadly one of them was a canadian and she invited him over to canada he declined by telling her that his parents were disable and he unfortunately cannot leave them alone to go to her and he kindly sent him £6000 for him to get a minder for his parents so they were not alone. I was disgussted to learn that Madeleines mother and father left Madeleine ALONE with their other children, whom are younger then Madeleine, yet they expected Madeleine to baby sit if they wake up.

I just like to Know how many parents are actually willing to leave a three year old alone, let alone leave three year old in charge of younger sister and brothers.

I was in the park yesterday with our six year old and three year old. I was amazed to see how much all mums and dads were alert about their childrens where abouts.

I was watching Danial Wright's {Little Cook} Programme about his ginger hair. It was the first time I found out that ginger guys are descriminated because of their hair colour, on every step in their lives. I was also amazed to learn that pubic hair were also very important in a relationship for a guy. I was brought up to believe that you remove your pubic hair since its unhealthy to have any pubic hair, and hair under the arm pits. Since pubic hair are not displayed like our head hair do you not think may be since they cause problems should be removed. There are things such as veet, razors, wax. and colour the rest like your head hair who is going to know whether you are going to have ginger pubic hair or not. If your partner asks just say you had to remove your pubic hair because you have found out that its unhealthy to have them in the first place. And who knows you might get lucky with Kate Winslet. Well I am a muslim and although I dont believe that Jesus was son of god, or that Jesus was god, and no I have no intention of changing that. However I am a great believer that Jesus was one of the Prophets of God, Allah, Rubb, Khuda, Bagwan, whatever people may call god, and so was Mohammed, Abraham, Adam, Noah, Moses, David. 124000 other prophets. And I think that its very sad to see people of non-christian faiths feeling offended by a christmas tree, for example dont the Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, from the Indian continent have their Houses full of Tinsels and shiney decorations on Eid, Diwalee, Khalsa, Wasakhee, so why do people feel if they are being offended when they have these things themselves on their festivals, furthermore, if I as a Muslim expect other people to respect my feelings and wishes and join in my religious events I should show the same courtesy to other faiths and let them enjoy, their festivals with the christmas tree and santa clause
