  • Will Mitch McConnell talk about $35 million?

Senator Mitch McConnell was asked by a Kentucky constituent for help in obtaining a $10 million grant to assist in developing a dietary supplement company . McConnell instead of obtaining the $10 million gave the man a $35 million dollar grant. The man later invested a huge amount into McConnell's Library (or what ever McConnell calls it), gave McConnell's daughter a $6,500.00 watch and donated $15,000.00 toward McConnell's daughters wedding and paid for a huge shopping spree for McConnell's wife.

This all started with a request for a Ten Million Dollar grant for a constituent, ended up getting a TAX PAYERS GRANT to the constituent for $35 million dollars and a huge kick back to Senator McConnell and his family.

Last week Republicans were investigating a woman who had at one time been a senior official in the Department of Energy ; their concern - She had used two different internet addresses in her job! Why would Congress waste time and TAX PAYERS MONEY over such a petty thing when we have real issues to manage? Witnesses testified it has been common practice for the past 12 to 15 years!

Why has Mitch McConnell not been asked to account for the $35. million grant and subsequent gifts to him from the grant recipient?

  • Looking for link showing the Mexican Flag Over the US flag?

About a month ago a television station in either Las Vegas or Reno Nevada ran a story about a business in that town where the owner was putting the Mexican flag above the U S flag. A retired marine (or Army) person took the flag down. I heard it was on Facebook but I have not been able to find it.

I would like to see the video if anyone can find a link to it?

  • So, what's to change?

. The director of the U S Border Patrol testified in Congress this week that last year the Border Patrol apprehended 410,000 illegal aliens attempting to cross into the United States. During the processing of these illegals 62% had criminal records.

In a Pew research on the impact of the Gang of Eights Immigration bill and amnesty for the illegals in the U S it was determined that of the 11 million illegals 3,300,000 lack any formal education and/or marketable work skills.

. An estimate presented during the Senate debates on the immigration bill states that it is believed less than 22% of the illegals will apply for amnesty.

. All this makes me wonder how many of the millions and millions (and there is a strong belief that it is far more than 11 million; may be 12, 14 or 16 million) will actually apply for amnesty?

. How many of those who do will actually be granted amnesty? Once they are identified and investigations started how many will pass initial screening and stay on track for the 13 years to get amnesty?

. How many will start the amnesty process and drop out?

. How many of those will go back “into the shadows” or be deported?

. Will we not still have the same mess, problems and numbers with the illegals we have now?

Won’t we be just spending a lot of money that will not accomplish anything?

  • Why war? Can we not find stronger methods of peaceful settlements rather than quick decisions?

Today's Yahoo news stories posted an article about a young man that was wounded in Iraq shortly after enlisting into the Army in response to 911. The man was wounded and permanently paralyzed. He has written letters to G W Bush and Dick Cheney regarding his personal feelings.

Have you taken time to read the article? Do you support his feelings? Is there some way to see we never go into another unnecessary war? It seems we do this all too often!

  • How can giving welfare, Earned income, food stamps, etc. - - - ?

Pew research has completed and published a study showing that if the President gives amnesty to the 11 million illegals in the United states we can expect 3,300,000 of them to immediately become eligible for welfare, earned income from the IRS, draw food stamps, become eligible for home subsidy and utility payments, obtain free medical care and other support at tax payers expense. The assessments show 31% of the illegals will continue to live in poverty creating a huge cost to the federal government as well as state and local social assistant programs.

With that knowledge, and knowing American workers are still struggling to find work, why would anyone support amnesty? We elect our political representatives to go to Washington to attend to the nations business and expect them to do the best for the United States, They tell us when they are running for office they will do that and they take an oath when elected swearing they will do that. If they back amnesty knowing how devastating amnesty will be is that not sufficient grounds for a recall and impeachment? That goes for Congressmen, Senators and the President

  • Increase minimum wage or control to wages?

The current minimum wage is $7.50 per hour.

In 2011 the average wage increase for CEOs was 39%

If the minimum wage of $7.50 was increased by 39% the new wage would become $10.72 per hour. God and the majority of American workers knows that will still hardly cover living expenses. And as soon as the minimum wage goes up everything else will immediately see a cost increase.

Maybe rather than increase the minimum wage the government should come up with some way to force the high paid wages to come down. When CEOs (making $250,000 a year) can improve their annual wages at an amount ($97,500.) equal to more than 6 minimum wage employees something is wrong with our society. .

It would take more intelligence and guts than anyone we have in Congress or the Senate of the White House but it time TRUE consideration be given to the men and women who work everyday just to see their quality-of-life diminished as the CEOs continue to gain greater and greater wealth.

Anyone suggestions on how to bring parity between the two?

  • Isn't the "Mission of Failure" against the U.S. also?

The president of the United States is elected by the people to attend to the nations business. The WHite House, the Senate and Congress are all a part of seeing that our nations best interests are properly attended to. All three bodies must work together to ensure success in keeping America the great nation it is! If anyone of these three fails in doing their job our nation suffers the consequences.

Before President Obama ever took office the Republican Party swore they would do everything they can to see he fails. They have done just that.

If it is the Presidents responsibility to see our nations business is properly attended too and the Republicans are doing everything they can to see he fails - - are they not working just as hard at seeing that our nation fails?

  • Another Right Wing Intrusion into personal Information?

Today I received what is shown as a "Vote History Audit" in the mail. It came from an organization that calls themselves Americans for Limited Government!

The folder showed my name, my address and my voting history for the years 2004 thru 2012. (It was wrong though as it did not show correct data).

What was startling and disgusting is it also showed Information on numerous others living in my area along with their address and voting history.

I have no problem with this organization providing me my own information (If it were correct) - BUT - Why did they give me unsolicited and unneeded Information on my neighbors. I am sure they sent similar Information to other people showing my address and voting history.

Is this legal? Would you accept this if they were distributing your vote history to people you do not associate with, people you do not know, and giving out your home address? Do I now need to put a shotgun next to my bed at night?

I did some research on the Americans for Limited Government and found they are a right wing organization from Virginia. They claim to be non-partisan but their website is purely and without a doubt 100% right wing.

To me this is another Right Wing infringement on our right to privacy; do you see it any differently?

  • Romney's Budget Reduction included - - -?

In Tuesdays (10-16-12) presidential debates Romney was asked what he would do to ensure equal pay for equal work; Romney never answered the question.

He did say when he was elected governor he appointed several women to his cabinet. He did not say, suggest, or hint that he paid them the same as the men were paid: it was like he did not want to answer the question!

The unanswered response leaves a BIGGER question! - - - - -- Romney also claims he reduced the states budget. SO - Because Romney declined to answer the question about equal pay - - - Did Romney pay the women he hired the same pay he paid the men?

Was he deliberately avoiding the question because he does not support equal pay and he reduced the states budget by paying the women less than the men? We may never know as he worked hard at not answering!

  • Is this a sign the GOP is - - - - -?

For almost two years, off and on, we heard from FOX radio and TV talk show hosts that this was not a good time to start a business, to expand a business or hire new employees. That has become quite silent for the last five months or so.

However, a few days ago word came out that our national unemployment rate has dropped below the 18%level. Yesterday a lady on the radio was saying people should not be taking part time jobs.

Is this a rebirth of the GOPs efforts to discourage people from going to work, giving concern to small business about hiring people or expanding their business?

  • Why are state governors not being blamed for unemployment rates in their states?

The national unemployment rate for August came out to 8.1%. States with a Democratic Governor has 8 over the national average with an average unemployment rate of 6.4%. Thirteen states with Republican Governors have an average unemployment of 7.69% above the national average Nevada has the highest rate at 12.1%.

Of the states with Right to Work laws Republican Governors have 12 higher than the 40% average (Unemployment rate above/below the national average); of states with Right To Work Laws; States with Democratic Governors only have 2 higher than the 40%.

It appears Republican controlled states have a higher rate of unemployment than Democratic governed states and States with Right to Work laws are maintaining a higher unemployment rate under Republican Control than Democratic controlled states.

Is it because the states can not improve the unemployment problems that the federal government has to take the blame? Why can some state governors take credit for good employment but for states that are doing badly it is the fault of the federal government?

  • Will Romney file an amended Tax Return?

Romney finally released more of his tax returns (< after both he and is wife said they would not do so >)! His 2011 tax return shows he overpaid his taxes as he did not claim the entire deduction he could have for charitable contributions. ( Interesting it was in the year he was running for office; will that get him points? )

Will he file an amended return with in the next couple of years to correct the (most likely) ERROR and reduce the amount he claimed he owed?

  • How many explanations from Romney?

It seems Romney is spending a lot of time explaining what he said or meant. Is anyone keeping count of how many times his explanations change?

Most recent issues were his "too early" comments regarding the attack on our embassy; he later said he was not aware anyone had died, then he made several other remarks (sadly he spent little time acknowledging the deaths but a lot of time blaming Obama for the attacks.). He still tries to defend himself on this issue.

Now he is trying to counter his comments about 47% of the people in America are a drain on the government. This one has got him flack from the media, from the Democrats and numerous leaders from the Republican party including his own V.P selectee. Romney though, just as G W Bush did, refuses to say he made a mistake or to apologize; he just keeps coming up with more excuses.

Can this guy really think he would make a decent president for the U.S?

  • With Ryan's criticism of Romney could this be the start of the end?

When the Vice President nominee starts criticizing the Parties nomination for President doesn't it seem to be the start of the end? Will Romney and Ryan patch up their difference? Romney should be careful as Ryan will be taking over his position!

  • How many more Senators & Congressmen will bail?

Romney made some absurd comments about the attack on our embassy even before he had any real or significant information on it. He later said he was unaware any one had been killed showing he jumped the gun in blaming Obama for the problem. The worst thing was when he did get the real information he made a few comments regarding the victims then spent the rest of the time complaining that the attack was Obama's fault. He reders to put politics above the intersts of our country and the people we loose tending our nations business.

Since that time he has come up with other excuses but has not apologized or retracted his comments. Due to that several Republican Senators and Congressmen have pulled away from Romney.

How many more will drop him due to this incident and as it becomes clear the man is not fit to lead or nation?

  • Hasn't the Republican party alienated many of their own?

The Republicans declaration in 2008 and again in 2010 to do every thing they can to see the Obama Administration fails has created a mindset within their party that blocks any attempt to get America out of the mess we are in.

There are a lot of good Republicans in Washington but they are forced to follow the Republican Talking points and do as the party dictates. By not following these the representative does not get any backing for his/her bills and does not get any financial support when it comes to reelection.

Has this hurt a lot of the elected officials who give in to the pressure and give up their commitment to their constituents? Has this caused a lot of Republicans to turn their back on the Party?
