  • Farrah Fawcett/Laura Wright?

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed a pretty strong resemblance between some older pics of Farrah Fawcett and Laura Wright (Carly, GH)? I swear, I saw some yesterday and today, and each time the pics kind of gave me a reaction of "wow!". Opinions?......

  • Wellness Core dog food...?

I have been feeding my 2 Shih Tzu's "Wellness Core" for a few months now. In-between, we switched to "Taste of the Wild", but it gave our Cocker Spaniel frequent and soft stools. Anyways, our 2 Tzu's are mainly house dogs (one has seeing issues, the other has leg issues), but they do rough-house indoors and in the backyard. Recently a friend, who I recommended "Wellness Core" to, was told by a saleslady that there was too much protein in it for a small dog - mind you, she has a Yorkie. I wasn't told that when I bought it, plus I did look on their site to find that they do have "higher" protein in their food, but not "extreme" amounts (34% vs. 40% and up). I even called them, and they told me that the levels of protein in the food will NOT cause any kidney damage, but not to feed it to an animal that has kidney issues to begin with (they don't). So, is anyone on here feeding "Core" to their smaller, not terribly active dogs for a long time? Like I said, they do rough-house alot in the house, it's not like they are completely sedentary or anything.... And, their coats are awesome on this food.

  • Giving a "dear pet" away.....?

I just have to wonder, why are so many pet owners out there willing to give up their pets for the stupidest reasons??? I've heard everything from "oh, I got pregnant" to "I have to move, and where I'm going just won't take animals". People, do you not know that you could become pregnant at some point in the future when you buy the animal? Or that the animal will cost you some money throughout its life??? Or that you might have to pick and chose where you live to adapt to the fact that you own an animal?? I know that there are extenuating circumstances and stuff, but it just irks me to no end when people forget that they commit to an animal "for life" the very second they buy/adopt it. We own 3 dogs, and we would not part with them for any reason. They are members of our family!

  • "Inner Science" shampoo and conditioner....?

I know that it's been awhile since the "Inner Science" shampoo and conditioner have been available, but I stocked up on it, and now I'm just about out. Has anyone used IS, and then switched to another brand that was comparable or that they are very happy with now? My hair is somewhat fine, so I don't want anything too heavy. I used to use "Herbal Essence" and "Pantene". Thanks!

  • Is heavy cream the same as whipping cream?

Hi there. I have a recipe for chocolate truffles that calls for "heavy cream". I live in Canada, and I've not seen any "heavy cream" yet, though I've just started looking. If I can't find any, can I use "whipping cream" instead? Any suggestions would be great... Ty in advance.

  • Anyone ever use "Synflex" for their dog...?

If you have used that for your dog, what were your impressions? I'm looking to get some for an older dog, who is already on a store bought glucosamine pill, but it doesn't seem to be doing all that much for her. Also, has anyone ever use a "D.A.P" (dog appeasing pheromone) for their dog for anxiety? Again, good or bad results... Thanks alot!

  • Heartworm pill give late question

My dogs are on "Heartguard", and this month was their third pill. Only, I forgot to give it to them on the 2nd, and just remembered this morning (the 8th). I just gave it to them now, but have I screwed up everything by giving it to them late? And should I now continue giving it to them on the 8th of the month instead of the 2nd? Any helpful info would be appreciated - I've looked online and couldn't really find anything pertaining to my exact dilema...

  • Tipping dog groomer....?

Hi there. I tip my dog groomer throughout the year, and then at Christmas I give her a $25 gift certificate for the liquor store. Now that we have 2 dogs, should I double up the amount to $50 at Christmas? And would it be a better idea to split the gift certificates, $25 to the liquor store and $25 somewhere else (any ideas anyone?) or keep it all in one place? I don't know how much she drinks, lol, and if she'd need that much every year at the same store.

  • After-spaying question?

My Shih Tzu got spayed a week ago today. The vet said that she shouldn't be licking her stitches (disolvable) for at least 10 days after surgery, and she hasn't, but has anyone left their dog alone at this stage (to go shopping) without a cone on, and even if the dog should lick that area a bit, would it be ok? She's doing the stairs and playing with our other dog, though just not as roughly as usual. Just curious as to others' experiences. Thanks!

  • Dog spaying question...?

Goodmorning! Our dog is due to be spayed this moring (in a couple of hours), and we accidentally gave her 2 treats - we are in the process of training her, and when she came in after a pee and a poo, we automatically gave her something for doing it. My fiance didn't realize until I made the same mistake, and the treat was already being swallowed. I will be calling my vet as soon as they open, but has anyone else done this and was still able to get the dog spayed? Thanks in advance for any answers....

  • 8 O'Clock Coffee, whole bean?

Hi there! Does anyone know where I can purchase 8 O'Clock Coffee in Canada? Ideally, Ottawa, but anywhere else is ok too. I've checked the website, and you have to order it by the case, so it's a little expensive that way ($75 and up). I intend to ask local grocery stores if they could order it in, but in case they won't, I was hoping somebody would have a back-up! Thanx.

  • "Canidae" users only please...?

I've been using "Canidae" for a few months now, and have had no problems with it, but I do have a question: in the kibble, you see little "white-ish" bits, almost like cornmeal. When I clean up their waste, I notice that it's also in there, like it didn't digest properly. I notice it more in my pups waste (she is 4 months old, a Shih Tzu) than the others. Does anyone else out there notice this? I'm just wondering if I should change the food or keep with it.... Thanks to all that can help!

  • Canidae All Life Stages Food?

Hi, there. After reading alot of posts on here about dog food, I discovered that we were feeding our dogs what is considered (by dogfoodanalysis.com) to be "3 and 4 star" foods. So we went out yesterday and bought "Canidae", a "5" star food. So I started looking on the internet today about any sort of extra info I could find on the food. I ended up coming across the acetaminophine (sp?) scare with the dry Canidae, and how the company was not going to publicly release their lab reports, how they were a little abrupt with people on the phone, etc. So now, I'm wondering if I did make the right choice with this food. Has anyone returned any of their food? Has anyone had any problems? Does anyone have any further info, as the stuff I read was stuff released in the Fall of last year. Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions....
