  • How to appropriately reject a job offer after accepting the offer?

I have accepted a job offer in a well known MNC which require me to be relocated to another state. Well my mistake was I didn't allow myself some time to think before accepting the job offer. Now after a deep thinking I don't think I can afford to leave my family here and move to another state. The company had issued the offer letter. All I have to do now is just pick up the offer package and do a medical checkup and I'll be starting working in a week time. So what is the appropriate way to reject the offer? By email or phone? Should I inform the manager of my department or the manager in the human resource department that handled my offer letter?

  • Applying for a job without prior experience in related field?

I've been working with my current company for the past 3 years doing mainly web-based applications using php and mysql. Now, after 3 years I think that I'm done with php and mysql and wanted to try something new instead. .NET programming to be specific. The problem is that I had never ever develop anything with .NET before. Suffice to say I had zero experience with .NET programming. Now, there is one particular job vacancy that I'm interested with. Well, like most other job requirement, the job requires at least 3 years of working experience in the related field along with other knowledge about all kinds of Microsoft technologies related to .NET which I do not have and do not know. To be honest, the only reason why I'm interested in applying for this job is because I wanted to try .NET programming. As a programmer I always believe that I have to have basic knowledge of different kind of programming language. I am sure that I can learn .NET programming if given the time and chance. As a matter of fact I self taught myself php and mysql by reading books, online articles, tutorials and etc. The problem now is how can I convince them that I am actually the right person for the job even without any prior experience with .NET. What is the best way to convince and tell them. I can't just say that I wanted to try something new now can I?

Is it possible for me who know nothing about ePOS to develop an ePOS application in approximately a month? Which language is the most suitable to develop this kind of application? I'm planning on writing the program using Java. I have read about Java API called JavaPOS but there seems to be limited resource about it on the internet. Can I use basic Java language to develop my application? This ePOS application will be use with touch screen panel and will be integrated with wireless technology (PDA for taking orders from customer). Thank you.

  • Would I violate any copyright laws?

If I design wallpapers, screen savers or website layout themes using pictures taken from multiple sources such as Google images, Flickr or any other sources and put it on my website for my readers to download it for free, would there be any copyright issue? What if I want to ask for donation (PayPal donation) from the readers if they like my design. Does this violate any copyright laws? Can I get sued over this violation? For example if I take Tiger Woods picture from random sources from the Google Images search and use it to design my themes or wallpapers. Thank you.
