  • My boyfriend said I have gained weight?

I'm 5'2 and about 127 pounds, between a size 6 and 8. When I met my boyfriend I was a size 4, but put on some weight after we had a baby. A few months ago he said "that muffin top's gotta go"and that really hurt my feelings, but then he said he was tipsy when he said that and didn't mean it.

He is not thin at all...but all his exes are really thin. Today he told me I have put on some weight...and maybe I did put on 5 pounds, but I thought it was a mean thing to say. He rarely compliments me, and a guy at the Chinese restaurant flirted with me and he didn't get jealous...he actually laughed. Is he not into me anymore? He says he is, but I have a hard time believing it...any guys care to comment?

  • Pregnant and sexually frustrated?

I'm 5 months pregnant, and ever since we found out about the pregnancy (4 months ago) my boyfriend has been rejecting me more and more. I practically have to sexually assault him to get him to have sex with me. I'm always the one initiating it...and getting rejected 90% of the time.

Truth be told, he is a very sweet man, and is affectionate and attentive to my needs. However, this rejection is really bothering me and I can't say that I understand or accept it. He just said it's "weird" to have sex with me now.

I really don't want to resent him because I love him, he's a great guy and I want to raise my kid with him.

Is this common? And how can I accept his limitation (not wanting to have sex now), and not resent him?

  • Can I take my child back to my home country?

I'm a naturalized US citizen, but I am considering moving back to my birth country. I have an infant son with my boyfriend, who is listed on the birth certificate as the biological father. Am I legally allowed to move to another country with my child or would I need my boyfriend's consent? ( we are not married and have no plans in that area)

    Thanks! Any advice is welcome.

  • how difficult is it to get out of an apartment lease?

I got an apartment through a rental agent. He informed me that my building (with 6 units) had just students living there and that it was ready to move in.

When we moved, the apartment was completely dirty, toilet didn't work, there were broken TV sets from the previous tenant etc. The landlord has had the toilet fixed, but the apartment still hasn't been properly cleaned. More importantly, my neighbors are definitely NOT students. Rather, they seem to be families with loud, unruly kids. Also, there is garbage everywhere in the building, truly disgusting with flies and bugs around it. After we moved in, we also found out that our unit had previously burned down. There is no night lights so it's sketchy when we come home at night.

We didn't see any of that when we were shown the building.

Anyone with REAL knowledge care to comment? Please don't reply telling me I'm dumb or related BS. This is a serious situation. thanks!

  • Barack Obama and self-esteem?

Do y'all think that a possible Barack Obama win could have a positive effect on African-American youth's self-esteem? I tend to think that it would, but some people tell me I'm naive. What do you think?

  • Why would a friend of mine doubt that my mom is a doctor?

I know this is going to sound silly, but I can't stop trying to figure out why a friend of mine asked me "is your mom really a doctor?" when I was at her house a few weeks ago. My friend and I worked together and I told her that my mom is a psychiatrist and that my dad is a PCP (because it was relevant to the conversation then, a year ago). My parents don't live in the US, and being a doctor where we are from is not a huge status symbol. Sure, they are financially secure, but they are far from rich. But anyway, I started thinking that my friend was doubting my parents are doctors because I am always broke. Do y'all think she just thought that I couldn't possibly be the daughter of doctors because I'm broke? I'm 30, so obviously my parents don't support me anymore and I'm not in a well paid profession.

Does anyone have any idea why she would think I'd make that up (that my parents are MDs)?Should I ask my friend why she asked me that? Shouldn't she know I'm not a lier?

    Thanks!!

  • What do you do when you are hired for a position but ends up doing something else?

    Hello,

I've been at my job for about 10 months now. I was originally hired to do something very specific that had to do w/ my training and interests. However, because some people have left our "team" my boss wants me to do an entire different job than what I was hired for (they decided they will not replace the people that left), but still retain my title, and pay me w/ the governmental funds that were allocated for my position. I'm still required to do the duties of my "real" position. And evidently, I have not gotten a raise even though I asked for one.

I would NEVER have taken this job if I knew I was going to be doing the tons of paperwork that are associated w/ my co-workers job (my actual position is not as paperwork based).

How do I get out of this situation without buring my bridges?
