I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have only been a member for a 3 and a half years, and feel that I have learned a lot, but still have a lot to learn. I hope to be able to share my knowledge with others and love answering questions! I also am a HUGE math geek!

  • What happens when two people catch a bouquet at a wedding?

I have heard the tale that the person that catches the bouquet is the next to get married, but what happens when it is a tie and two people catch it at the same time and don't fight over it or anything? Is there any "tale" about that? What about with the garter? Now, I know most of the times these things don't come true, but I was still wondering.

  • How do you get rid of a computer virus?

I think my computer may be infected with a virus or something. It won't allow me to open internet explorer at all and I keep getting these pop ups from security saying I have an infection, but I can't afford to buy the whole security package. Is there a way to reboot my computer or get rid of this for free? I have windows vista.

  • Volumes by cylindrical shells question?

Use the method of cylindrical shells to find the volume generated by rotating the region bounded by the given curves about the specified axis.

    y=x^2, y=0, x=1, x=2; about x=1

  • Squeeze Theorem Problem?

I keep getting 0 for the problem, but it is wrong and I am not sure what the right answer is.

f(x) is less than or equal to the cube root (x^7) * sin (4*pi/x) is less than or equal to g(x). Sin (4*pi/x) is between -1 and 1.

I'm not sure if you need more information, but if you do, tell me.

  • Definite Integral Problem?

The integral from 0 to 4 of (xdx)/(sqrt(1+2x))

This is very similar to the last one I posted, but this one has a square root in the denominator.

  • What religious question are you most tired of?

If there was one question that a lot of people have asked that you just wished people could understand what would it be? Is there a question that you just love answering everytime it comes up as well? Also, why do you like/dislike those certain questions?

  • Is this goal realistic?

I have a goal to lose 40 pounds by mid May and 80 pounds by either August or the end of the year. I plan on exercising more (I have a treadmill, elliptical, rower, DDR, lots of workout videos, and a gazelle) and I want to change some of my eating patterns but it is hard because I do not have control over the food in my house (I am 18 and getting ready to leave for college so my mother does all the shopping and I do not have a job yet). I am drinking a lot more water than I used to though. Do you think this is a realistic goal or that maybe I should make it smaller? If it is not realistic, is there anything I can do to change that other than change the amount of weight I want to lose?

  • How do you (LDS) feel about the new YW value?

Last week I learned that the YW have a new value which is virtue and the color is going to be gold. I was somewhat surprised as I just finished personal progress, but I was just wondering what other people thought about it. I think it is a great value and an interesting color choice.

  • Can you get college application fees waived?

I have been starting my applications to colleges and I have run into a problem: My top choices do not accept fee waivers and that is the only way I could afford to apply to them. Does anyone know of any other way to pay for application fees? I already talked to my guidance counselor and he said that the school would not pay for it either and all that he could do was write a letter.

  • Majoring in math?

I was thinking about majoring in math, but am not completely sure about it. I was wondering what you could do with a major in math and what some good minors might be to have. Also, are there some good colleges that anyone could reccommend? I am currently ending my junior year of high school so I still have a little bit of time to think about it.

Is it possible to have b>c if 24b<24c? I could not think of an instance where this could happen but thought that someone else on here might be able to think of something. If so, how did you think of it and what are the possible values for b and c?

  • Is there a chance?

There is this guy that I am in love with but I'm not sure if there is even a chance of it ever working out. He is 5 years older than me and lives across the country. I have known him for almost 3 years. We are a lot like each other. I love hanging out with him and talking with him on the phone for hours. Most of his friends are getting married and whenever someone tries to hook him up with someone, he just seems to ignore the girl. I went out to see him and his family is just like family to me. His whole family is so awesome and I love them all. A lot of people tease me saying that it is so obvious that I am in love with him and stuff. My sister actually told his mother this, but I booted out of there so that I didn't have to hear her response. She still gets along with me. I'm scared of him finding a girl and getting married because I don't get to see him and I know if this happens I will have to do my best to hide my heartbreak from him. Is there any chance of us working out?

  • Metarrhagia? Huh?

Does anyone know what this is? I have a doctor's appointment in a few weeks and they sent me a paper, and under the reasons it has this listed. I couldn't really find anything online about it either, so I thought that was kind of weird. I know I am being tested for endometriosis, so could it have anything to do with that? (It has that listed too)
