  • How does Madden 25 compare to . . .?

I last bought Madden back in 2010 when I picked up Madden 11. I stopped because between 09 and 11 there wasn't much difference. Now, for regular purchasers of the game, will I see significant differences between 11 and 25?

    25 on PS4 isn't an option as I won't be getting a next-gen console anytime soon.

  • i5 3210M or i7 3610QM?

Well, I'm in the process of purchasing a new laptop and I've found the package I want, but the final hurdle is deciding between the i5 or i7 variant. The i7 is a little pricier and I am a tad reluctant, but if the performance between the two is of a noticable difference I will take the plunge on the i7.

I know people speak of "futureproofing" when purchasing new hardware and obviously the i7 will have longer staying power than the i5, so that is something else I am thinking of.

It will be used for a combination of university work, general browsing and light gaming (ie, not hours spent playing the latest releases) and both will be running a GT640M GPU.

  • How to replace the side mirrors on a Vauxhall/Opel Corsa D?

I recently pulled a dumb a$$ move and caught the passenger side mirror of my 2010 Corsa D on a bus while trying to squeeze by. Besides a few nasty scratches on the cover, the mirror has also loosened. It does not hang, but it's not tight like the driver's side and I can see it vibrating at a fair speed or when I drive on poor road surfaces. The electric motor is not damaged and still works fine.

Now, I hope I don't have to buy a new unit but how do I go about getting to the mirror to see if there's maybe a damaged clip/screw/bolt/bracket on the inside that I can just replace/glue/repair to get the mirror tight again?

a - Does the door panel have to come off? If so, how do I do that?

b - Do I need to remove the mirror cover to have a fiddle? If so, how do I do that?

  • Is there a chance that the minnows will continue to run the ''big boys'' close?

This opening weekend of rugby saw all of the the minnows give the larger nations tough games. The Japanese were all over the French for a good 20-25 minutes. The Aussies had to really kick it up in the second half to get by the Italians. If it were for better kicking and better decisions (I am a South African saying this) Argentina and Wales could have seen off higher rated opponents. The Yanks fought bravely against the Irish, defending like Trojans. The Namibians sat with the Fijians for large parts and Scotland stole a win at the death against the Romanians. And the Tongans too gave a good account in the opening game and their try was one born of patience and sheer desire.

I think this is great for rugby, but will it continue? Is it a case of the big boys suffering early tournament jitters, or have the small fish made legitimate strides? I hope it continues. 60+ point margins - as we have seen in the past - are not good for the sport.

  • Can the USA avert its looming financial crisis and get its national debt under control?

We all know the situation, or are at least aware of the fact that the United States are in danger of defaulting on its national debt. There are many ''crisis theories'' of what will happen if the debt ceiling cannot be raised and the US does in fact default on it.

Now, obviously just raising the debt "ceiling" is not a long term solution to solving her debt crisis, as the "ceiling" will just rise and rise and debt repayments will grow and grow. Now, can the United States actually ever pay its debts off, or even get it under control. Currently her national debt grows by $4 billlion a day.

I am not American, so I do not know enough to asnwer this question myself.

  • Should they make Jurassic Park 4?

I really enjoyed both books and the first two movies. Obviously the first movie was a classic and I got to watch it as a kid when it first came out, which left a lasting impression on me. The second was okay but the third one was really disappointing and it seemed to be moving away from the original concept, including killing off a Rex which is the icon of the franchise.

Another thing is, the original cast are getting on in age. Sam Neill, who played Dr. Allan Grant, is about as old as Richard Attenborough was when he played John Hammond in the first 2 films. Jeff Goldblum is not any younger and Attenborough himself is now in poor health.

So if I look at it, a new Jurassic Park film may end up venturing way off course in terms of the core of the story and the likely need for new actors will severe it's connection to the original movies. You can look at the Alien and Predator franchises as evidence of what happens when a concept is over used and ends up becoming a flop.

I have read some disturbing reports that early ideas for a 4th film may be based around Ingen's technology being used to create mutated super-humans. That would be an absolute catastrophe if it went that way.

I believe the franchise should be left as it is, lest they destroy it.

  • How do I reset my PS3?

I have a Playstation 3 that I have always used on a simple Standard Definition TV. I recently got to try it on a High Definition TV and it worked fine. After using it on the HD TV, I had to reconnect it back to my old SD TV, but the problem is, my SD TV no longer reads it. The screen is just blank even though the console is running. When I tried it on the HD TV again, it's fine. My SD TV connection uses a multi cable output, with a yellow video cable and a red & white sound cable.

So my PS3 obviously thinks it is still running on an HD TV while it's plugged into a SD TV. How do I correct this?

  • Does the new Super Rugby format benefit Australia?

    This is a recent argument that has not only come out of South Africa, but New Zealand as well. The basis of it is that folks within New Zealand and South Africa believe the level of physicality in Australian derbies is nowhere near that of the derbies in the other countries, and that the strength of competition within the Aussie conference is inferior to that of the other two. This is said to benefit Australia in two ways;

A - Australian players are at a lower risk of injuries as the bulk of their games are not played with the ferocity of those in NZ and SA. By extension, this means the Wallabies are likely to have a better opportunity to select fresher and healthier squads come Tri Nations and World Cups.

B - As can be seen in the Aussie conference, the quality of competition is poor and a good side (Reds) has literally received a free pass into the playoffs, while a decent side (Waratahs) has got the advantage over potentially superior South African & New Zealand teams in the wildcard hunt as the Brumbies, Force and Rebels are guilty of poor rugby. One can't really finger the Rebels though, but then again, giving Australia a 5th team was dodgy anyway as they were battling to field 4 decent sides as it was.

Are these valid arguments, or should the Australian conference be given more time to ''prove'' itself?

Personally, I do not like the new set-up. I fear derby games will rapidly lose their appeal and may result in unnecessarily high injury rates (In NZ & SA especially), and because every team will not play 1 opponent from each of the other conferences, their is a chance that a team may benefit by avoiding playing against one or two strong opponents while a close rival may end up getting a tougher schedule. The idea of biannual rotations of home field for seasonal derbies and of every team playing each other was far better.

  • Did anyone feel a great deal of sympathy for Severus Snape after seeing his memories?

I'm a little behind on the uptake, having only recently finishing the Harry Potter series, and after completing 'The Deathly Hallows', I have a great deal of sympathy for Snape.

Yes, he was a double agent playing both sides and voluntarily became a Death Eater, but he showed true remorse and unlike Pettigrew or Karkaroff, he never fled once Voldemort emerged and on the orders of Dumbledore, he place himself in mortal danger by ''returning'' to Voldemort's side. His undying love for Lily Potter, to the point that he pleaded with Voldemort to spare her, was also a great show of character. And after the pensieve reveals how he acted on behalf of Dumbledore, letting Dumbledore manipulate the whole situation, and never betraying Dumbledore, I feel Snape emerges alongside Harry in terms of strength of character. Upon completing the books, I have a great deal more respect for Severus than what I do for James & Sirius and even pity him, as he really endured a life not toodissimilarr from Harry and although he was always intrigued by the Dark Arts, I think it was his ''broken heart'' - with regards to Lily - and his endless (and unjustified) torment at the hands of the Marauders that pushed him over the edge.

It is also mentioned that although a senior Death Eater, he went to great lengths to try and protect the kids at Hogwarts from the Carrow siblings. Well, he went as far as he could without blowing his cover.

  • de Villiers & Fourie vs SBW & Fruean. Biggest matchup since Lomu vs the 'Boks?

Just out of interest, is the looming showdown between the Stormers and Crusaders generating as much excitement in the Land of the Long White Cloud as it is here in the Republic? And is the matchup between the two midfields at the centre (excuse the pun) of it?

I for one, although not a Stormers fan, cannot wait for it. Mainly because the results between the two midfields has a significant role on how the 'Boks will deal with the All Blacks. SBW and Fruean are arguably the best attacking pairing in the business at the moment, and while Jaque Fourie can stand up on defence, Jean de Villiers is going to have to put in one helluva game.

I don't think I've anticipated a matchup like this amongst the backs (I'm more of a forwards man) since I was a kid, when I watched James Small put Lomu in his back pocket.

  • What have the Highlanders and Reds done to turn their Super Rugby fortunes around?

These two franchises for some time had been the whipping boys of their respective countries, New Zealand and Australia, for some time, yet now they are serious contenders for their respective conference titles, with the Reds playing some of the most exiting rugby in the entire competition. What is their secret? Were they poorly administrated? Have they been restructured from the bottom up to correct any problems they may have had? Is it coaching?

I ask this because I am a miserable Lions supporter. A franchise that has spent it's entire history occupying the bottom two spots on the log (If you ignore the Transvaal's victory in the 1993 Super 10 championship and two semi-final berths in 2000 & 2001 as the Cats). They seem to have adopted a losing culture that cannot be broken. A problematic factor is also the fact that any developing talent is rapidly snapped up by other SA franchises. It is also something that affects the Cheetahs, the bulk of their talented players are poached by the more attractive coastal franchises. Is this an issue that faces New Zealand and Aussie franchises, in which their promising talent is poached by more attractive franchises? Did the Crusaders develop their own or raid the Chiefs and Highlanders? At the height of their powers, did the Brumbies and Waratahs raid the Reds? I just can't get my head around it. The strange thing is that the Lions' Vodacom Cup (tournament for upcoming talent) sides always do well, recently topping their group, and their Currie Cup teams always put up a far stronger challenge, yet they're a joke at Super Rugby level.

  • What are South African thoughts on the 'Boks prospects for 2011?

I myself am South African and I'm starting to get a little concerned. Even though we had a horrible Tri Nations and less than spectacular end of year tour, *cough* Scotland * cough*, I thought it had a lot to do with our key players being overplayed and in need of a rest. Well, now we're approaching the midway point of the 2011 Super Rugby campaign and the wheels seem to be coming off. We all know Peter de Villiers is going to use Jake White's old boys and the past few weeks have seen them, especially the Bulls, slump. The wheels spectacularly came off at the weekend when the Bulls were thoroughly man-handled at their own game by the Crusaders and the Stormers were sent packing, comprehensively outplayed at home by the Reds. The decline of John Smit is also shocking, to the point that he is actually a liability for the Sharks when he plays.

You could argue it's still early days, but the signs are not good and this is the point of the tournament when players should be in their groove. The Crusaders and Reds are the likely source of a number of potential All Blacks and Wallabies and we are clearly behind them at this point. More alarming is that the Sharks and now even the Stormers seem to have adopted the Bulls' forward dominated game, which clearly does not work against the teams from New Zealand and Australia.

  • Where are my Corsa's sparkplugs?

This may seem like a stupid question, but I recently purchased a 2010 Opel (Vauxhall) Corsa 1.4 Essentia and I have no clue where the spakplugs are? I previously had a 2000 Opel Corsa B 1.6 GSi and the sparkplugs were right there, clearly visible, but on the new car, i can't find them.

It is the 1.4 66kw Ecotec engine, not the new 1.4 74kw Twinport variant. I see in the owners manual that the plugs only need to be replaced every 4 years or 60000km's, so it is not urgent plus I have a two year/40000km service plan, so I don't have to worry about changing them myself yet. But for future knowledge and just out of curiosity, where the heck are they? There is a panel, with 'Ecotec' on it, that can be removed that has what I think is the fuel injectors, are the plugs under there?

  • What are the risks of the EU and the problems facing it?

I am not European, but I would like to know what are the major problems/risks that a "United Europe" faces?

I have recently noticed the financial crisis that has hit a few member nations such as Greece, Portugal and the Republic of Ireland that has seen EU banks having to to bail them out. What if these countries cannot maintain debt repayments, who does the burden fall on? Who are the power players within the EU anyway? Which member nations financial institutions are the ones bailing countries out? Surely the EU cannot survive if a number of it's members end up being a financial burden. If this is the case, the financial burden of nations eroding the viability of the EU, is there a way back from the EU, or are countries too entwined in it?

  • How would I say "Glorious Crane" in Japanese?

This may sound like a strange question, but I am a student of military history with huge interest in carrier warfare from World War Two. Japan built a two-ship class of carrier, the Shokaku-class, one was the IJN Shokaku, which loosely translates to "Flying Crane", and her sister was the Zuikaku, which translates to "Fortunate Crane". I'm busy with an alternative history scenario in which there is a third ship of this class and keeping in line with the "Crane" nomenclature, I'd like to name it the "Glorious Crane", but I can't seem to find anything to help me translate it as such.

  • Did the Springboks save the best for last?

Well, that victory over the English was not just a victory, it was a demolition job. I have not seen the Boks play like that for a while. We were like an anvil out there, and the English were smashed on it. Toby Flood and Tom Croft were out before the half, and on many other occasions an Englishmen went down under a tackle or attempted tackle. Not to mention the English scrum was repeatedly penalised under our pressure and the lineout was a no contest. The English came out and gave it there all, but they simply had no answer.

Bakkies Botha summed it up earlier in the week when asked about the looming physical showdown at Twickenham, by saying "I'm getting goose-bumps". It seems the whole Bok squad finally showed up. I don't want to be too overconfident but it is a good omen to come up with a performance like that and we showcased our status as World Champions.

  • Why would my mind play such a dirty trick?

I had this dream, but it was actually quite a nasty one and I don't know what to make of it.

Between early 2006 and late 2007 I spent time in another country and met an amazing woman. She was the first woman I fell for. It wasn't love, but definitely the strongest feelings I have ever had. Sadly, my time was up and I had to come home. It took me a while to get over her and we talk every now and then via Facebook. Now, last night, nearly 3 years after seeing her, I had a dream. It was one of the most realistic dreams I have ever had and this woman was in it, and in this dream she told me she loved me. It was so real that when I woke up I was actually disappointed.

Why would I have a dream like this so long after seeing her and what does it mean? I'm not a "romantic", so this kind of dream is very strange to me.

  • Two questions on 'Taker and Christian. . .?

Okay, I used to watch WWE up until the mid-2000's but the storylines and characters really started boring me, so I'm not really up to date with it anymore.

Now, when I stopped watching, Christian had just unveiled his Captain Charisma persona and seemed to be getting a "push" and I was one of his "Peeps". But, the next thing I knew, he was on TNA.

So, the first question is; What happened to Christian? I read somewhere that he was in-line to be the next big thing in the WWE after The Rock. So why did he fall from grace? Even when he was a heel, he still had draw with the fans.

And secondly; Do you think The Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania be will preserved until he retires or do you think he will eventually lose?

  • Is there a program for track designing?

Okay, this is the only category I could find that is the closest to what I am looking for.

My question is, in my spare time, I enjoy designing things. As an example I have an AUTO Cad program and I come up with house designs and so on. Another thing I do as a form of "doodling" is drawing motor racing tracks. I would like to know what kind of programs do professional race track architects use? Do they utilise AUTO Cad, or are there other programs better suited to the task? Something that maybe allows 3D generation as well, to get a better idea of the environment. I can't paint or draw creatively so this is my way of being artistic if you will.
